Me and my friend were looking to try something different, and one of us mentioned just chik'in, as he had had it the week before and he liked it. So we all hopped in the car and went. Once we got there we were met by the friendly staff who greeted us and confirmed that they were new and we were in for a surprise, because of how good it was. I chose the rotisserie chicken option. The menu is as simple as the name of the restaurant name suggest. But that's sometimes a good thing. I'll tell you now, I'd give this review 5 just for the aji verde sauce alone. You could put that on a pillow and still enjoy it. The fries and the rice that came with it were well seasoned and the chicken was juicy and great. Me and my friends all agreed this wouldn't be the last time we'd go there. I never leave reviews for places, but this food was so good that I just had to. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken is some of the best chicken that I've ever had. It's seasoned perfectly and is super juicy and flavorful. The Aji verse sauce is absolutely delicious. I've been putting it in everything since. I think that they should start selling it in bottle, because I would keep it stocked in my kitchen at all times. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

The Peruvian marinated roast chicken was pretty good albeit a little dry, but the star of the show was the green garlicky sauce. It elevated the chicken to delicious and made the pretty decent french fries shine. The rice I didn't understand but that may be my aversion to peas. The fried spicy chicken strips were no better than any fast food joint and when you make your own unique sauce why can't you tackle a simple Buffalo or honey mustard? Do that and make your own Peruvian spiced fried chicken and we'd be talking! read more

Having spent 25 years of my restaurant business life selling rotisserie cooked chicken as well as bbq ribs,my interest was piqued when I saw the first advertising for this new Peruvian style rotisserie chicken restaurant. I had tried some Peruvian chicken at a nice restaurant in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn about 12 years ago.I recall the open face brick rotisserie oven in the front window of the place.The family operated restaurant had a wide variety of specialty South American food on the menu but the chicken was the drawing card.The Just Chik'n spot here in Rochester has a very limited menu comparatively but that is not a bad thing.The restaurant is small.About 6 tables for inside dining so the focus is on to-go foods.My son and I each had the half chicken dinner which came with 2 side dishes and sauce as well as a 20 oz.bottle of a Pepsi Cola owned product. We had the French fries and the house specialty white rice with veggies. The chicken and rice traveled well but as expected the fries go limp.The house special sauce was a very spicy green one that resembles chimichurri but has has some sour cream and mayo and some nice hot peppers in it.The chicken,though a little on the small side,was thoroughly cooked and the Peruvian brine/rub added a very nice flavor.The menu includes some fried chicken sandwiches and tenders and various other sides.We will definitely try this place again and if you like rotisserie chicken this is a good choice. read more

This was by far some of the best chicken I have had in a very very long time. We had the 1/2 Peruvian rotisserie chicken meal and the machu bowl. So. Unbelievably. Delish! The chicken in both was melt in your mouth amazing. I have never been more excited for leftover lunch the next day. Just as yummy. This place is well worth a drive to check it out. I saw this place online so decided to try it out. I'm always up for food that is of another culture so the idea of Peruvian chicken caught my eye. True, the overall store is kind of plain, but the folks behind the counter are very friendly and helpful if you have a question. I ordered the half-chicken meal. The chicken was very flavorful with a mix of different spices/seasonings, which is what I was hoping for. I'm not a big fan of white meat but the breast and wing were very flavorful. The rice was also nicely seasoned. At first it looked like a typical fried rice with what I assumed were frozen peas and carrots but they jazzed it up enough that this was NOT fried rice. I also got a side salad and the vinaigrette they gave was another nice surprise. Overall, this place is great and I'll definitely come back as well as tell my family and friends about it. The prices also make it very affordable. My only suggestion would be to offer a quarter-chicken option, meal or alone. Overall, this place is great and as I said, I'll definitely put it on my "regulars" list. Great job and tasty alternative to the regular chicken places. read more

Having grown up in a Peruvian household in NYC, I can attest, the rotisserie chicken family meal is the real deal! I chatted with one of the owners when I placed my first order and found out that he and his family have a deep appreciation for South American foods having traveled there several times. Their recipe seems to be straight out of Lima, Peru. The Salad was delicious with a great mix of fresh vegetables. The Arroz chaufa rice was surprisingly light and very tasty ( vegetarian). The craving was so great that I ended up picking up this bounty while on my motorcycle. Oh, I should mention, their AJI ( green sauce) was Better than I make myself. Meal comes with two, I ordered an extra 8, it's that good. I should be honest and share that I am writing this a week after my original order.
