When I heard a Just Poke opened close in Northgate which was close to where my boyfriend used to live and our friends lived, I wanted to check it out as I've tried their other locations. It's located on the first floor on the street side on NE Northgate Way in the area where Target and Dick's are in Northgate. There's a free parking garage with ample stalls. I really only wanted the poke and saw that they actually sell them by half pound or pound. I didn't know the process of ordering by pound since I've only gotten them by bowls. One of the workers was nice enough to run it down for me. I choose a protein, choose my sauce(s) to mix with in the protein, and get a choice of up to 3 toppings (crab salad included!). I got a half pound of their Hawaiian Ahi with their spicy aioli and truffle garlic aioli. For my toppings, I had masago, crab salad, and green onions. The worker asked if I wanted any of the crispy dried toppings (fried onions, etc) which I accidentally declined (darn). Honestly, my concoction was VERY good. The ahi wasn't fresh BUT tasted fresh which was great. The two aiolis I added gave sooo much flavor, loved it! It was a tad salty. Making a mental note to maybe choose a poke without sauce or ask for less aioli. And of course, I really liked the crab salad) YUM. Definitely a good visit today! Overall, I was very happy to see that there is a location here in Northgate as the quality at this location was really good. Clean and cozy location. Portion sizes are way too small for price. I don't mind the portion of protein but when I was asking for my unlimited sides (which I only ever really get 2 out of all the options) they gave me such a measly serving. I have gotten much more at the location in downtown Seattle. Very sad looking bowl :/ read more

Never order the açaí bowls. The acai is frozen and they just pile the nuts and other fruits on top of that. You have to wait for the açaí to melt, and then you do work to mix it. read more

There's not much anything else I can think of when it comes to food I can eat every single day all year long without getting sick of -- just poke. This is it. I've lost count of how many times I've ordered from here, as a walk-in or a quick grab-and-go takeout. The place is immaculately clean with sufficient seatings. I like to mix different kind of toppings and sauces but mostly stick with salmon and tuna as proteins. Word to the wise if you choose "light" sauce, they get it right to a tee, I tried light once and I could barely taste any sauce so I went the other way and chose heavy hehe :p The staffs are patient, friendly and quick. Parking is shared parking garage with Target et al. This place is a great poke joint with consistent good quality and service. read more

There have been times where I've stepped into a Just Poke establishment and promptly departed due to concerns about cleanliness. But not here! Perhaps it's due to its newness, but everything about this place exuded an impressive level of cleanliness and attention to detail. This reassured me enough to confidently order a bowl of raw fish, and I'm thrilled I took the chance. Not only did I not get food poisoning and die, I was very delighted with the variety and flavor of every bite. I just wish there was a Just Poke of this caliber near where I live! My only lament is that I wish there were more Just Poke locations of this caliber closer to my residence. This establishment has set a high standard for both cleanliness and culinary satisfaction that I would love to experience more regularly. read more

Just Poke is a chain establishment, so all of their portions and ingredients are pretty much standardized. I've eaten from seven different locations so far, and of all the Just Poke places I went to, this has to be towards the lower-end in terms of quality. Their salmon wasn't fresh. In addition, they weigh the meat portions on digital scales to make sure you do not get an extra ounce of meat. Their owner must be super stingy because my server took a scoop of salmon, weighted it, and then put back a piece from my bowl because it was over the stipulated amount for a single portion. read more

Very small servings. Gave a full scoop of one type of fish and about 4 pieces of the other choice. Regular size is also extremely small for nearly $20 a bowl and have gotten much more at other Just Poke locations. read more

I saw that a Just Poke was under construction in the Northgate plaza right by the escalators of Target. Today I passed by and saw that everything was set up, so I stopped in. Super friendly folks who said they were just starting their soft opening. Interior was nice and clean, portion sizes were good. My bowl tasted very fresh and well seasoned, no complaints! Their grand opening technically isn't until the beginning of next month, but I'm super excited for it! Make sure to come by :) read more

I did a Build Your Own bowl from this new poke shop with salmon and spicy ahi and it was so fresh and I loved how spicy it was! The portion size was just right for a quick lunch and the staff here were all so friendly. I saw they also have açaí bowls so I'll have to come back for those next time. read more

We live near this Northgate Just Poke location. We have given them three chances in the last two months and they've let us down, unfortunately I have to recommend you stay away. We've had both poor quality food and service. Just get poke from somewhere else. The first meal we had was good! Definitely good enough to go back. My wife and I were excited to have a new poke place near our house! The second meal let us down. The seared salmon was very extremely gamey, and the cucumber was spoiled. The cucumber tasted sour and was visibly squishy and pale/clear. Just looking at it would have made me throw it out, not put it on a bowl of poke. Not wanting to let a single bad experience stop us, we tried a third time. I scheduled a pick up order a few hours in advance so I could pick it up after work. To my surprise, I got a text 25 minutes before my scheduled pick up time that my food was ready. I walked at my scheduled pick-up time to be handed a bag of food that had been sitting on a counter for nearly a half hour. I ordered the karaage (fried chicken) so by the time I got home it was cold and soft/spongy, not freshly fried. My hot chicken was also packed in the same bag as my wife's cold sushi, warming it up. I'm not sure what they were thinking, I can't be the only person ordering ahead of time? I had been very excited for this Just Poke location, but I have to say just pay to get poke delivered from somewhere else. Disappointed. read more

Ordered Uber delivery off the app. The cost was expensive due to delivery fees. I was not aware the shrimp and scallops were not cooked, or at least didn't seem to be. However after my original review the restaurant reached out to me and asked what was wrong so I giving them 3 stars for customer service. Been waiting to try this place out since I walk by every day. Finally got around to it and I was disappointed by the quality of the bowls. I love Just Poke, I usually order delivery but yesterday my husband & I were at Target in Northgate & noticed a Just Poke, at some point a few years back it was another poke place, like a knock off lol. I ordered from the knock off & it was not good & in my opinion, over priced. Since it was a Just Poke place now, we decided to eat there. We ate in & while eating I said to my husband "wow this is probably the best poke bowl I've had out of all the poke bowls we've ordered" my husband agreed. The food was fresh, the rice was warm & toppings cool so the mixture was on point! My husband let the staff know our thoughts, which by the way the two women working there were both very polite. My husband & I both used the restroom before we left & again, agreed that the place was clean including the restroom which, if you are from Seattle you know it's hard to find clean bathrooms. All in all this Just Poke was by far the best Just Poke we have had. We used to live close to Northgate, I wish they were there when we did live nearby. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. Having been here twice on different weeks, I think this will become one of my go-to places in the area when I'm craving fresh seafood on a weekend south of downtown. LOGISTICS Parking is convenient for Georgetown area, given they have a dedicated lot for customers of businesses in the area. Entering in, you order through the kiosk and if you're dining in, you can seat yourself and they'll bring the order to you. The space is small for larger groups but if you're 4 people or less, generally there are tables available on off peak hours (at least what we observed Sat/Sun). Ordering happens at the kiosk, which you can choose for takeout or to dine in. Keep in mind there are some items available for dine-in only (ex. udon or seared salmon bowls), but if you plan on doing takeout anyways you can order online or call ahead for pickup. Note - they do close at 2:30 pm but re-open at 4:30 pm. So long as you get your order in by 2:30 pm they'll still service you... which was nice since the last two times we came in around 2:00 PM. FOOD First off, they have nice nice presentation both in how the food is arranged and the bowls they use when dining in. From the ceramic/decorative bowls to the trays they use... it's the little things that add to the dining experience and make you think a business cares about its food. (Note: there was one time we had initially ordered togo but decided to eat in person; so they kept the food in plastic bowls for one of my photos.) In every bowl we had during our two visits, the rice was excellent! We've had some terrible rice at other donburi places before where it can be too overcooked or too mushy. Fortunately their seasoned rice was a good texture and tasty to eat on its own. The seafood was also excellent for the price / quality - fresh tasting with a melt-in-your mouth texture. Volcano Bowl: Spicy salmon + spicy crab salad w/ masago - despite the description it wasn't too spicy (siracha mayo) but it went really well with the rice, like a deconstructed sushi roll. I liked mixing in some wasabi to give it a stronger kick. Aburi Sake Bowl (seared salmon bowl): This is only available to order for dine-in; if you love salmon... I would recommend this one. Seared salmon is delicious seafood umami. I liked how the salmon had the right amount of fattiness too. Chirashi Bowl: If you like variety, then this is an excellent bowl to try a little bit of everything. I was amused that they also included unagi (I don't think I see that in most chirashi bowls). Even the shrimp, which is usually my least favorite part of chirashi bowls, tasted good with a slight sweetness. OVERALL Awesome place and a good location for the area given there's parking available. Price was just right for the quality (I'm amused how much cheaper good seafood is here in Seattle compared to the Bay Area) and the staff were really friendly. There are also two excellent bouldering gyms nearby (Castle Climbing Club and Momentum)... so if you're looking to recharge after a climbing session, I would highly recommend coming here!

The taste was unfortunately very bland, no significant sear in the salmon, and the soy sauce didn't add anything memorable to the bowl. The Una-Gyu Don wasn't bad, but the broiled eel with sukiyaki just wasn't special enough to make you crave it again. The location has a parking lot next door at least. Internally the dining space is narrow and fills up quickly at opening times in the weekend. Order at the counter or kiosk, and they'll deliver the food to your table, which you bus yourself at the end.

There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).
