Absolutely favorite place to get salad in the city. All the salads are good. I definitely recommend sticking with their choice of dressing with each salad. Ordering can be a bit confusing but the friendly staff will gladly help you if you are lost. The chopping stations are so cool but they do cause me a bit of anxiety as I always have trouble hearing their questions. Not much to add to what already has been said but Just Salad is a fantastic place and I'm a very happy repeat customer! First, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, which is good because the menu options are a bit overwhelming at first. After trying different seasonal options I now usually just create my own salad. The greens are always fresh and the ingredients taste delicious. There are tons of choices, but as others have mentioned, it can get pricey if you choose too many, so consider limiting how many ingredients you pick. However, for around $10 you can get a HUGE salad with a protein like chicken, steak, turkey or shrimp included! And there are so many delicious salad dressings to choose from, my favorite one right now is Smoky Poblano Ranch but they're all great. A few notes why I am not giving them 5 stars. I was originally under the impression that all ingredients are organic, but nothing is labeled as organic in the store. You have to look online (or possibly the printed menu) to see which ingredients are in fact organic. I also have been charged incorrectly a few times based on the number of ingredients being miscalculated. So make sure to keep track and let the cashier know if your total is off. And the line can move slowly sometimes, especially if they are filling grubhub and online orders while people are waiting in front of them in person. Buy the reusable bowl and then you receive a free premium ingredient each visit! They also have a new loyalty program with coupons and rewards. I started eating Just Salad when I was living in NYC. There was one located close to my home in the Financial District. When, I found out JS was opening in Chicago I was soooooooo excited! I was a little disappointed when they slightly switched up my fave salad the Turkey Cobb! However, I get my salad sans the Avocado, Egg, and add Turkey Bacon, Onions... And it tastes just like the old salad I use to order in NYC. They've also changed the recipe for Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. I love the new and old taste of the dressing equally. My only hangup is there aren't enough Just Salads in Chicago. I really wish, there was a location closer to my house... I could/would spend the $11 and eat here daily. read more

I can see the menu being confusing if it was busy for my first time, luckily I was there at a quiet time and I was able to ask newbie questions. I live close by and I think it's a good option for a healthy lunch. A little pricey for just a salad and a lot of decisions to make. I had the spring seasonal salad chopped and it was fresh and tasty even the avocados were nice and green, which is really important to me. I think I might buy the reusable salad bowl next time because I'm not a fan of throwing plastic away when you're eating there. I come here every day for a reason. Crazy huge selection of fresh ingredients and dressings. They also local source a lot of ingredients, and have a map detailing what comes from where. Super friendly staff. Also, the avocados are literally perfect every time. I've never had an under ripe or over ripe one. Not sure how they manage that but it keeps me coming back for more! I am literally forcing myself to eat my food right now because I bought it, but I am really annoyed about my experience. I ran through the rain to find that I was unwanted. I did get a monotone welcome, but the way she handled food and talked to me was the worst experience ever. I never seen so much disrespect to a customer. Also the guy who put in my dressing was talking to his friend, so when I asked for a little he literally drenched it with dressing. I never seen such rude workers. I definitely will not come here again. I am from California and my Chicago experience was ruined because of the workers. Hope everyone else has a better experience if you guys end up going! I would like to start by saying that this has nothing to do with the food, and everything to do with the SERVICE of the employees in this establishment. On this Wednesday, the 21st day of December, I placed an order through GrubHub for several of my office employees. I placed the order for DELIVERY, inserted our address, and selected a tip amount for the driver. However when I clicked the "Place Your Order" button, my order was confirmed as a pickup. I immediately called Just Salad to let them know of the error. Since Grub Hub is a third party delivery service, the manager told me to try calling Grub Hub to to cancel and re-order, but thanked me for letting them know so they wouldn't make a double order. ***(His suggestion was based on the same issue he experienced with a customer the week prior.) I then called Grub Hub, where I was placed on order for 5 minutes, and then disconnected. I am getting increasingly irritated at this time, that my employees are waiting on food, and I am having to chase down a customer service rep, when their site glitched, causing this inconvenience. I called the customer service phone number again, when I gave a 30 second description of my problem "Need my order to be switched to delivery instead of pickup please", and was placed on hold again. For 15 actual whole minutes. Listening to scratchy "hold-music" that Grub Hub deems calming to irritated customers. It isn't. In this window of time, I am expecting my service rep to finally click over and tell me they spoke to Just Salad and have a driver on the way. Instead, I get disconnected AGAIN. Now irate, but composed, I call the number back that called me while I was on hold. It was the manager from Just Salad. I don't know the name of this individual, but the male manager working at 12PM today is an absolute angel. He called me just to check-in and see how my progress with Grub Hub went. He made me aware that they were almost done making my order, and to resolve my issue would be sending one of their own employees from the store over, in their own vehicle, to drop off my food since GrubHub dropped the ball. Mind you, Just salad does not offer in-house delivery service, and only uses third party companies. This gentleman said that "nobody should have to deal with that type of service", and he made sure I didn't have to. His actions are the epitome of OUTSTANDING customer service, along with his employee who graciously drove our order over, and brought it up to our office with a huge smile on his face (which I was so happy to see at the end of an hour-long debacle) ! Impeccable service! Gratitude to everyone on your team, but to the both of you especially. Thank you again so very much! I hope you guys get all of the good karma back from today :). read more

This place is awesome! I work right down the street and wanted something light for lunch. I checked out their menu online and I picked a pre-built salad. I got to the location and the line was almost out the door. I stayed anyway. I was in and out in 10 minutes!! They have the lunch rush line down to a science. All ingredients are super fresh. They build it right in front of you even if you are ordering a pre-built option. They even ask you the amount of dressing you want. Then they put it all together, chop it all up, dress it and put it in a bowl to go. I love the fact that the dressing and ingredients were throughout the salad, all the way to the bottom. The best part - they offer salad bowls for sale that are reusable and washable with a lid so you can continuously bring back your own salad bowl for them to fill. This is my new go-to for lunch. AVOID THIS PLACE unless you want headaches. Tried ordering online and WOW what a horrible experience. 1st of all, when you look up 'JustSalad.com' - their phone # is to a New York location. Sketchy already. Then find out that you have to order through Door Dash. Bummers, cause Door Dash service is the absolute WORST! So go to Door Dash to give it one more try, then at the end after adding 5 items to the cart, the app & website will not allow me to place an order for my wrap, which they'll ask you to customize it, but you can't add it. Now I'm upset. THEN, call 'Just Salad' at their NY #, then they tell me that they can place the order but I'm afraid that everything will not be customized like I'd like, so I decline. The NY location transfers me to Chicago restaurant, and then the lady puts me on hold, after I explain everything to her and what I just went through, and asks her supervisor whether they can take food orders over the phone. SERIOUSLY?! So very disappointed in DoorDash as a delivery vendor and NEVER will I give business to a business that makes it so difficult to order food! So my honest advice, AVOID THE HASSLE AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I have never felt so welcomed and appreciated. I was immediately greeted by a young woman named Noir. At least that's what her hat said. She was amazing energy. All bubbly and energized. Huge portions! I stopped into the just salad in the mall at 900 N. Michigan after shopping at Nordstrom. the staff are friendly and got out a 'green board' because I am vegetarian. They have a lot of good options of salads that can also be turned into wraps. My mom got the warm quinoa bowl and I got the falafel salad. The dressings are great and the portions are generous so you feel full, not like you had 'just salad'! The ingredients are fresh and they have a variety of smoothie options as well but I've never gotten those because the salads are just so filling. Will definitely go back. read more

I've passed by this place before and thought I would check it out to satisfy my craving for something crunchy. The space is bright and clean, but I felt the customer service left something to be desired. The only menus I could see were on a board; if customers are expected to make their selections quickly, JS might be better served having paper menus for people to look at as they are standing around. For the extra-precise, the name is somewhat of a misnomer, as soups and sandwiches/wraps are also offered in addition to the salads. I would have liked to have had a half-soup and salad (or sandwich) combo and in fact asked the guy behind the counter, only to be met with a blank look. I finally settled on a small minestrone soup, and a chicken Caesar salad.The salad was HUGE and I did appreciate that it was chopped, so I didn't have to wrangle with trying to cut up huge lettuce leaves in a bowl. WONDERFUL SERVICE I just left Just Salad and I left content on so many levels I don't know I can go back to another restaurant and receive better treatment. As soon as I arrived the experience was great. There was a Just Salad employee by the name of Julissa who was having lunch. Julissa engaged me in conversation and even recommended things on the menu. I was shocked because usually people at other restaurants want to have their lunch because its their time--I understand. Julissa was just so fantastic. Once I was ready to order, the woman taking my order was also very cordial, respectful, and enthusiastic about what I should get. She made ordering m food easy. After I was finished ordering the gentleman that prepared my food was having a conversation with me while preparing the food. He made sure that the items I was getting were exactly what I wanted, he asked if there were any ingredients I wanted to try, and finally thanked ME, for being there. Lastly, the manager on duty, Dwight, was very thankful for visiting. Dwight asked if everything was prepared the way I needed it, he asked if there was anything else that I wanted. He knew everything before I even got a chance to ask and I thought that was very awesome for a manager. I am happy there are still employees that give a damn. read more
