This is a VERY Popular restaurant. You can tell that by the full parking lot and the line waiting for a table. At least, it was like that the morning I stopped by for breakfast. Service is fast and friendly. The wait for your food is short and the portions are just right. The place seems to be filled with regulars who are enjoying themselves. Nice little local diner. Had a decent breakfast on a Saturday morning on a visit to Columbia. The food is exactly what you'd expect from such a place. Great service. Seems like a lot of locals come here. Is it worth waiting 30 minutes to get a table? I personally don't think so, there's nothing out of the ordinary about the food. It's the same kind of food you'd get at a Waffle House or any other greasy spoon type of place. The high reviews on yelp and the wait definitely inflated my expectations. read more

The service is top notch - very friendly, a real team effort, about the happiest people I have ever seen. The food is just standard diner food, which isn't a bad thing, but I don't know that it was the best I ever had. Very solid - had the veggie omelet which could have used more veggies than onions and green peppers - spinach? Something? I also had grits which I normally wouldn't have ordered but they came with the meal - I am not a grit fan, but these were good. The toast came with butter which I wish I had been asked about. This happened to me on yesterday. Had the WORST LUNCH EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I ordered the fried catfish, mac & cheese and lima beans. The first bite of the fish I noticed how greasy it was, I immediately alerted the wait staff ( the hostess), and she took my entire plate which included the fish and mac & cheese. My waitress came over about 10 minutes later to a adjust my ticket, she took for granted that I had eaten the mac & cheese so she now charges me for the mac & cheese and the lima beans. I informed her that I did not have a chance to eat the mac & cheese because it was taken back with the fish, so she's now charging me for the lima beans. Mine you I am on lunch break and no time for a reorder of food, so Im saying to her my lunch was ruined I didn't come to just eat lima beans, I am the one inconvenienced yet you still want me to pay you for some lima beans? I asked to speak to the manager/owner. When I tell you this Owner came over to me with a HUGE ATTITUDE as he approached me, before I could even tell him the problem, he YELLS You ordered fried fish, fish is fried in grease, what do you expect? what do you want from me? and you ate the lima bean, so yeah you have to pay for them!! WOW!!! I eat fried fish often and never have had it greasy like this. I've even ordered it from there in the past with no problem. This Owner was RUDE, HOSTEL AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I gladly paid for the lima beans, but will never ever eat at this place again, and couldn't wait to get back to work and tell my co-workers who were on their way there, what happened. I will continue to spread the word, make sure you don't complain to them about the food, because there ain't a damn thing they are interested in doing about it. I can't believe the business is still operating with an Owner like that man. P.S. We decided to check out Just Us Cafe this morning for breakfast, we've heard a lot of great things about the place from all over town. We got there at 9am and it was starting to get packed so I would definitely suggest getting there early. We sat at the bar which is first come first serve. Food was great, prices very well, and came out pretty quickly. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! The only change/suggestion I would have is to make sure customers know to write their name on the notepad on the bubblegum machine. We waited around for about 5 minutes at the door until someone finally came over and told us what to do. Not that big of a deal but would have been a plus to of been told what to deal when we first arrived. We will definitely be back!! read more

I have been to this establishment for YEARS and have never had a problem, delicious food at good prices. However, amid this pandemic you would believe that establishments, especially those popular with the local public, would be practicing safer health regulations to protect the health and wellness of their guests. Servers were not wearing masks nor gloves, menus were present on the table for everyone and their grandmother to touch, they were not following social distancing policies and the food was just terrible, grits were undercook, biscuit cold, eggs had a weird taste to them and the coffee tasted as if it were 3 days old. Don't forget to sign your name on the list that sits on top of the bubble gum machine as you walk in! Went on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and there was a line out the door (it moves fast). But you have to sign the list. We didn't know about it and two or three people got in line behind us, but because they signed it and we didn't, they got seated first. No worries. We'll know next time. Omelets are huge! Pancakes are light and fluffy and the service here is amazing. Their biscuits and gravy are some of the best I've ever had. Their biscuits achieve that nice balance of butter and crusty outside, soft and pillowy inside. Heaven. The wait staff is excellent and could not be nicer. I LOVE it! Huge portions, tiny prices, and super sweet service. It's delicious downhome Southern cooking. We usually get breakfast but their daily specials are great too. We take my boyfriend's mom here who loves the place and it's kinda growing on us too! This has to be the place you go in Columbia for the best breakfast ever! You swear someone named Flo is waiting on you! The food is really affordable and the service is the best. Wife loves the coffee and I think their sausage is wonderful. Never had a bad meal there. Plus there doesn't seem to be alot of turnover of staff. Everyone acts like the love working there. by the way these folks are big Carolina fans so you might want to leave your orange shirt in the car! The waitstaff is great and the food is ok. It's just a very basic food. If you want anything other than very basic, this is not the place. I ordered bacon and it was over cooked and crispy to the point it crumbles in your hand. Tried to send it back for some not over cooked. The cook sent it back and said it was the best he could do. A quaint, rustic kind of family owned restaurant. They are obviously HUGE Carolina fans as the entire place is plastered with Gamecock stuff. Fast and friendly service. . Decent food. Quite possibly the worst coffee in town. They make the coffee in those commercial "Bunn" coffee makers and, quite frankly, it was awful. For that reason alone, I won't be back. We were heading out of town after spending the night in Columbia for graduation and were searching for a place to eat that had good reviews( surprisingly hard to find around Columbia) decent prices(again most of the good reviews around Cola prices start around 20 a plate) and not a 90 min wait. It shouldn't have come as a suprise seeing as how around noon on a Friday it was packed and as a party of 7 we had a bit of a wait, (about 30 min) but it was well well worth it. 2 of our party had the special which was shepards pie, My husband and son each had chicken tenders, my M.I.L. had a club sandwich, my daughter had the chicken breast and I had 4 veggie plate. We all had a mix of sides. Homemade mac and cheese to die for! Onion rings perfectly crispy with no onion pull and crispy fries. Tuna pasta salad so yummy. We were each given a home made biscuit and oh my Lord they were perfect. Everyone was super friendly and the hostess tried her best to find us a place as quick as possible and our waitress was on point keeping our drinks filled and anything we needed seen To. To sum it up a party of 7 our bill was a little over 60$ not bad at all for the amount of food and a few take home boxes and if we're ever back in the area we will be back. read more

This place is on the short list of places I choose to go for lunch. I have been there several times, and each time I have not eaten a bad bite. I will get by there for breakfast one day soon. The atmosphere is very laid back. The wait staff will call you pet names like dear, sweetie, and honey which I don't mind because it shows personality. They serve your food in a quick and timely manner, and offer your drink to go. The food is very reasonably priced and the portion size is plenty. The homemade biscuits are really good, and who doesn't like a great biscuit? If you want a solid, good lunch under ten dollars I would go give them I try. read more
