She took the time to gather all my information carefully and accurately, and I really appreciated the attention and care she put into helping me out. This is genuinely one of the best pet stores I've visited in Southern California, great customer service like this makes a real difference.

I walk in and tell the cashier I want to return a bottle of shampoo because my puppy was still itching after washing her with it. This is my first time owning my own pet so I'm learning okay bare with me here. I bought this shampoo from a different PetSmart, the one in Mission Valley on El Camino road or sum shit with some other stuff that I had already returned to the same PetSmart I got it from in Mission Valley. I live closer to this one i'm reviewing about. So I do a quick little google search and find out I can return any item I bought from one store to another. So I give the cashier my receipt tell em why I was returning it. He looks at my receipt and says okay it'll go back to this card. I'm like no it'll take a couple days and I could really use the cash. #1 either I lost my wallet or someone stole it from me. #2 I didn't want to wait 3-5 business days for my money back. Either way I don't need a reason why I wanted cash back mind you ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIPT IT LITERALLY SAYS if u paid for something using a debit card you will receive cash. So I told em I got cash back when I returned some stuff to the other store why is it different here? So he says let me get my manager I said ight cool. So this guy in the pic comes over and he says sorry due to store policy it has to go back on the card. I immediately got tight cuz I have all this other shit goin on in my life and I just didn't wanna deal with the headache so I just tell them yk what its cool i'll just go back to the other store and get my cash back there. I leave I go to the Mission Valley store and walked in like nothing happened and asked to return. I didn't even have to ask, the cashier told me ok it'll be this much cash back here u go. BOOM I go "See! This is WTF IM TALKING ABOUT!" I noticed the manager from that store is standing in the next cash register so i ask him "excuse me i'm not tripping right? ALL PetSmarts have the same policy?" he goes "yeah" so I explained to them what happen and they agree with me immediately and they both go "yeah it says it on the back of the receipt" im like "AIN'T NO FUCKING WAY THANK U THEY FINNA HEAR MY MOUTH NOW". I race my ass back over to this store cuz now my blood is boiling, these guys really just made me drive 10mins down the fucking road inconveniencing me making me waste more gas and time out of my day when they could have just gave me cash back per their "store policy"!!!! Does this guy not know the policy of the company he works for?? Make it make sense. So mow it got me thinking like what made him not want to give me cash? Do I look untrustworthy? Does he think I stole somebody else's product and receipt to get cash back for myself? Im confused why make my day harder when it didn't benefit you in anyway to not give me cash? You went out your way to make my day harder for no reason. I'll be honest I walked in a little heated and went straight to the cashier that started this shit and I told em the policy states on the back of the receipt i'm supposed to get cash back point blank its not even supposed to go back to the card. Then I go on ranting complaining about how they already made my day a bad day and it was only 9am or sum when they just opened up. The guy working the cashier seemed like he really didn't care and said he was just going by what the manager told him but he was letting me rant and not being a shithead about it so I just left em alone and went to the manager because wtf my guy you're the manager and you're giving your guys wrong information and getting them hemmed up by customers n shit. I go up to him and he's dealing with a customer getting her some new fish out of a tank she was trying to buy so I stand there civilized patiently waiting for a good moment to pull em to the side. He gives her the fish then he walks away from the customer to get some more bags cause she's asking some different fish now. I go over to him calm and kindly to avoid being a Karen in front of other customers. I wanted to be respectful but he wasn't showing any type of courtesy or regards for me at all. So I asked him can he have somebody else help her out he says he can't everyone is busy MIND YOU THEY HAD JUST OPENED UP AND IT WAS ME AND ONLY TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS THATS IT. So I let em have it I snapped on him bc this mf literally could've de-escalated this shit, no he made it worse by trying to shrug me off. All I wanted was for him to take accountability for inconveniencing a customer because he wasn't knowledgeable enough as a manager. All he had to do was say my apologies I was wrong and just listen to a complaint cuz thats what managers are supposed to do. Served for my country to get out and deal w shitheads like this guy.

Plus the store is sparkling clean! I do get frustrated because a lot of the items that I'm specifically looking for seem to be regularly out of stock. I'm not sure if it's supply chain issues but I do get frustrated about it. They also have a vet located inside and I have not tried this vet yet, but I hear it's very good, so I'm planning to switch over from the vet that I had been using. When I try the vet I will for sure update my review!

I pop in here every couple of weeks for Freshpet nuggets to top my pittie's kibble. My one struggle is that they don't always have the same products available, either because they're sold out or just not stocked, so I had to get a different type of Freshpet for her this time. I've also gotten her treats, toys, and other kinds of toppers here. Prices are generally on the higher side. They do have the Petco Rewards program but I've found that the rewards expire quickly and they're not always easy to access or use. So that's a bit annoying. The store is generally clean, there's plenty of parking, and the staff is helpful and friendly. While I do have a few minor gripes about the store, it has more positives than negatives. Mahalo!

The guys working in the shop were friendly and helpful. They happen to sell a brand of dog food - Dr. Marty's - that my dog cover models for, so we came in today to take some photos of Cali with the food. She was a bit unhelpful during the photo sesh, but you get the idea. We also bought some breath freshening treats for her called Whimzees & they look like little toothbrushes. She ate one at home & enjoyed it. Definitely check out the store if you need some pet supplies and you are in the area! Peace.

I like that they carry a lot of products you typically dont see in other stores, and the bonus, its 5 minutes away from where I work, so if I do need something for my pets, I can make a quick pit stop before heading home. I'd give it 5 stars because it has about anything you could need for your pets, but their employees lack customer service big time! I've stopped by on a couple of occasions and you dont get greeted, in fact my first time stopping in one of the employees was very rude that I almost didnt go back, and honestly they sound like they dont even want to be there. The second time going, one of the same guys was there and the experience wasnt much better than the first. Other than that I do go back just because of some of the stuff that they have in stock.

I was going in to check it out as it was recommended to us by a local pet sitter and I was beyond impressed! Everything from their toy selection, natural treats, supplements, toppers, snacks, wet food and frozen food both raw and cooked! The best of the best! Alex walked the store with me and she's amazing and a wealth of knowledge! I lowkey hope I pick her brain again sometime She's amazing and knows so much about the products they carry on their shelves from the sourcing to manufacturing, which is so highly highly appreciated! I totally recommend this store, it's in PB area but not where all the crazy stuff is going on, it's on a cute little quaint street with easy parking. The store is so well organized, each section tells its own story and purpose and I'm here for it! It's not so far from my work so that's convenient too! Besides the joy I have for supporting small local businesses it makes me want to support even more when they give back to our community. Noah's hosts adoption events too for Smitten rescue which is a non profit here in San Diego, they also host fundraising event yearly with their pictures with Santa event for Frosted faces also another local rescue focusing on senior dogs who are usually looked over for adoptions and that's just so heart warming and so very WHOLESOME! In addition if you adopt a pet, you can get an adoption welcome kit for your newly adopted furry friend as well! What an awesome place to support! Shop local!!!
