I bought this shampoo from a different PetSmart, the one in Mission Valley on El Camino road or sum shit with some other stuff that I had already returned to the same PetSmart I got it from in Mission Valley. I live closer to this one i'm reviewing about. So I do a quick little google search and find out I can return any item I bought from one store to another. So I give the cashier my receipt tell em why I was returning it. He looks at my receipt and says okay it'll go back to this card. I'm like no it'll take a couple days and I could really use the cash. #1 either I lost my wallet or someone stole it from me. #2 I didn't want to wait 3-5 business days for my money back. Either way I don't need a reason why I wanted cash back mind you ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIPT IT LITERALLY SAYS if u paid for something using a debit card you will receive cash. So I told em I got cash back when I returned some stuff to the other store why is it different here? So he says let me get my manager I said ight cool. So this guy in the pic comes over and he says sorry due to store policy it has to go back on the card. I immediately got tight cuz I have all this other shit goin on in my life and I just didn't wanna deal with the headache so I just tell them yk what its cool i'll just go back to the other store and get my cash back there. I leave I go to the Mission Valley store and walked in like nothing happened and asked to return. I didn't even have to ask, the cashier told me ok it'll be this much cash back here u go. I race my ass back over to this store cuz now my blood is boiling, these guys really just made me drive 10mins down the fucking road inconveniencing me making me waste more gas and time out of my day when they could have just gave me cash back per their "store policy"!!!! He gives her the fish then he walks away from the customer to get some more bags cause she's asking some different fish now. I go over to him calm and kindly to avoid being a Karen in front of other customers. I wanted to be respectful but he wasn't showing any type of courtesy or regards for me at all. So I asked him can he have somebody else help her out he says he can't everyone is busy MIND YOU THEY HAD JUST OPENED UP AND IT WAS ME AND ONLY TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS THATS IT. So I let em have it I snapped on him bc this mf literally could've de-escalated this shit, no he made it worse by trying to shrug me off. PetSmart is THE only pet store that provides discounts, customer rewards, fast service And great customer support in store, online And via phone Gandalfs script is so fricken expensive I can only afford it once a month and that's through Afterpay. Chewy does NOT take any type of payment plan and/or EVER offer any discount unless it's auto & that's only $2-$3 a month in savings I picked up my order & patiently waited at the register for someone to help me. From what I could gather the young man was in charge of online orders. He was super sweet & mentioned I can always do the car pick up but I felt silly for doing that because it takes them away from customers inside. This used to be the biggest & most popular pet supplier in the US until Covid hit in 2020 ;( Since then they've had to cut wayyyyyy back on employees and it looks like they only have about 1-3 people working at a time. She's on antibiotics and very weak, skinny, exhausted. She lost a baby tonight, but all the help we got for information on food, supplements and nourishment from the staff was so helpful. SANTA PICTURES Sorry PetSmart but PetCo has a way better setup and backdrop. All the hype and nice plastered advertisements of Santa pictures at PetSmart ended up being in the back corner with a very cheap backdrop. I was calling several pet stores to see if Santa pictures were being offered. Representative on the phone told me "you missed it today. But we will be taking pictures tomorrow starting at 10am to 3pm" THAT'S A LIE. We arrived exactly at 10am to be told it begins at 12pm. We came back at 230pm and there was no line. When I saw the backdrop/corner I was disappointed that it was very cheap looking. We were suppose to have two pictures (one in her elf costume and one in her fancier dress) but in my email I only received one. Why? Because the staff taking pictures was busing answering to personal phone calls during our photo session. I was busy taking my own photos on my mobile phone because I may be doing a better job at it. Once we were finish, a line started to form and glad we missed the last minute rush. At the least, we got our Santa photo but we will be sure to not miss Petco's Santa photos so we don't have to come here. Sorry PetSmart. read more

This review is for Curbside Pickup. Colour me impressed. I ordered online (easy to use website) in the evening and got an email the next morning that my order was ready. The pickup process was easy and fast. The associate helping me was efficient, enthusiastic and friendly. The parking lot is easy to navigate and not busy. She gave me a goodie bag for using Curbside Pickup. It had a great toy, dental treats, a bag clip. a pouch of cat food and coupons (which it turns out are expired though). Such a nice surprise! Definitely a perk that will have me using Petsmart Curbside Pickup over other options. The only trouble is not everything in-store can be ordered online. Especially smaller toys and treats. After the constant battle of hair brushing and unruly knots in fur, my husband and I took our chocolate pomeranian Kodiak to get his hair cut. We had been hesitant to take him to the groomers,Kodiak has a lot of anxiety and can be a bit yippy so we were worried that he would have a bad experience. We were wrong, Kodiak's groomer Karla G. was fantastic, you could tell as soon as Kodiak was dropped off you knew that Karla would take great care of him. We were quoted at a 3-4 hour hair cut, but he was done within 2 hours! Amazing, he must have been really comfortable to let someone cut his hair. Bryan came to pick him up with Kodiak's pommy sister Dakota, Bryan said that when he saw Kodi he almost cried. Kodi just looked so happy and obviously he's no longer in pain from the matting and knots in his fur! They dropped my office and he walked around so proud of how he looked! We are so impressed by the work that Karla had provided to Kodi and so grateful for it! If you need to take your pup to a reputable place, come here and ask for Karla. We booked our appointment online, it was easy and there are a different add ons you can include to pamper your pooch! I gave Kodiak a calming treat 30 minutes before his appointment, if your pet is anxious try to book earlier in the day! read more

My dachshund is 8 years old. She has been coming to PetSmart to be groomed for years. She was born with a congenital defect in her front left paw. We call it her "floppy paw". This means it's tough for her to stand for any length of time. Today we brought her here to be groomed. Katherine did a great job. Other than being told they won't groom her again - store policy - because she doesn't stand as good as a 4-legged dog, I'm very satisfied. We will not be back. UPDATE... PetSmart "where pets are family unless they're disabled" refuses to groom our miniature dachshund because her disability makes it difficult for her to stand on their grooming tables. Instead of trying to accommodate her with a grooming mat so her legs don't slide, they refuse her service. I'm still stunned. Fortunately we found a groomer will take her and told us she can't believe this is PetSmart's policy. We can't either. Safety is always important, but PetSmart's unwillingness to make any accommodation is counter to their slogan, because they definitely don't treat my pet like family. read more

I had kind of a weird experience here. My cat is on a prescription diet and the PetSmart I normally go to was out and it wasn't available for shipping. Royal Canin is having production issues so it's been hard to find his food. I saw this location had it in stock so I ordered it for pick up. When I got there a young lady went to get my order. As she's walking towards me I see the cans are small so wrong size and type of food. I let her know and she said, this is your name, right? Yes but I'm sure I ordered a different size and type. I looked up my order on my phone to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I hadn't and showed her what it was supposed to be and what size. She went and came back with something that was still the wrong size although closer and type. I told her this and she says it's 5 oz. Yeah, but still not the right type and my cat won't eat it. FTR these other cans cost a lot less than what I paid. So she goes back and finds the right thing but there was only 10 cans instead of 12 and did I want a refund for the missing two cans? Ummm, yeah. She told a cashier that I wanted a refund, kind of made it sound like I was being difficult because I didn't want to pay an extra $5 for something I didn't get. The manager came over to take care of the refund and was very nice and understanding. I know mistakes happen and I wasn't mad. I did think this was weird because every item has it's own number so it should have been fairly easy to find the right thing. My cat has his food though so life is good. read more

I had to re-home my Wheaton terrier for a couple of months while we moved to a new place. When we got him back my dogs coat was super matted. We decided to book an appointment full bath/hair cut, they took him in shaved off all of his hair leaving him like an alien. The girl called me back 10 min into dropping him off and said my dog had mites and wouldn't be able to finish the cut. She charged us for the full service when the full service wasn't done. My dog was shaved but not correctly he had long hairs here and there. When I took him to the vet (THRIVE) with Petco they said all he had were allergies because Wheatons are prone to allergies. On December 31st, 2022 at 1230PM, my puppy was dropped off at the grooming salon to be serviced by Charlotte. We discussed matting on my puppy's paws and came to the agreement to trim the mats, shave her down (minimally) and "start over" with her hair growth process. Prior to allowing my pup to get taken in, I reiterated to "please preserve as much of her hair as possible. Less than 30 minutes into the appointment time, Charlotte left a voicemail stating that my TWO POUND pup was becoming aggressive and showing signs of distress. My pup has been getting serviced at PetSmart since weeks after birth (over a year) and has NEVER once displayed aggression or distress. Something did not seem right. Upon returning to find out more about the situation I was greeted with a nonchalant Charlotte. rather than having any concern at all, Charlotte began quoting an increase in price stating "yeah it's gonna be a minimum $40 charge on top of the grooming because of the aggression." Again my pup is 2 pounds, the most gentle pup ever and she has NEVER displayed signs of aggression or distress (I have thorough vet records and credible people who can attest to this). At this point the "manager" Tabitha intervened with an extremely flat and dismissive attitude and asked if I'd like to continue service and I declined because my pup was clearly showing signs of anxiety and stress. I examined my pup and immediately saw all of the cuts around her body, one cut was even dripping blood. At this point I return AGAIN to show the groomers how they had assaulted my pup. Charlotte rolled her eyes walked away and never said another word to me after SHE CUT MY DOG UP AND BUTCHERED HER HAIRCUT. TABITHA on the other hand reluctantly offered to send my dog to a vet and when I agreed she quickly changed her mind and said they could no longer have my dog be seen and that things like this "happen all the time" not once did they apologize or show any concern. I also have not received a follow up regarding a vet visit for my pup and I was purposely given the wrong number to corporate and have not been able to reach anyone. Tabitha refuses to give me an incident report or any record of what was done to my dog this day. My dog is now having issues of severe stress when trying to get her haircut fixed and this situation has caused me immense frustration towards how this situation was handled and deep concern for my little pup. Please do not go here. They will harm your dog and say "it happens all the time" with a straight face. Pathetic. read more

I would not recommend the grooming here they barely bathed my shepherd she is visibly still dirty. They said she was extremely difficult because she kept trying to jump up. Not sure but I feel that groomers should know how to handle a situation like this instead of charging me full price for a job that was hardly done. My shepherd is also 12 years old with bad hips so I'm not sure how much jumping up she was doing that prevented hardly any grooming to get done. I'm extremely disappointed I'll never be coming back here or to any petsmart again. My groomer was ryan so if your dog is perfect then I'm sure he can groom them. Ears are still sandy from the beach. You can't teach an old dog new tricks... or that's what they say at least but I'm happy to report that after completing Petsmart's Beginner Education training class, Jax definitely knows some new tricks! (If you count sit & stay as tricks haha) The six week class was $119 and was made up of Jax and two other dogs. Our trainer, Stephanie, was so patient and knowledgeable and really spent time the first week getting to know our dogs, their issues, and what we wanted to achieve from the classwork. We were given folders that had the training outlines, helpful tips for homework at home, and some really valuable coupons for a variety of Petsmart services & goods. We also received free clickers which we would use throughout the training. The training process followed the same outline each week. We would review our "homework" or skills that we should have learned from the week before (I say should because we didn't always learn the command in a week but we still practiced) and then watched the trainer perform the new exercise for the week before practicing in the ring and then eventually practicing out in Petsmart with distractions. Skills We Reviewed: * Watch Me * Sit * Look * Say Hello * Loose Leash Walking * Drop It * Leave It * Down * Handling/Petting * Look/Look Away * Stay Jax also goes to Banfield (his vet) at the same Petsmart location as our training so it took a few weeks to get him used to coming to training and not think he was going to the vet. He all out throws on the breaks and locks his legs in the parking lot, trying as hard as he can to run back to the car.. #sofun. but by the last class he gladly pranced into the store and heading directly to the training. What not to love about a store that I can visit cats up for adoption! If I could I would end up a Crazy Cat Lady...give me time this might still happen. They have cats here and at all pet stores in California that are up for adoption, typically from some sort of animal rescue place. When you walk in to this store you can take your pet to be groomed and watch it through a window. I don't have a pet that needs grooming but I like to look at the dogs getting their glam on. I stop here to buy my fish food or treats for my fur kids that I might be around. Again the opportunity for me to be a Crazy Cat Lady is right there on the horizon. When that time comes, I am sure that I will help places like Petsmart stay in business. The staff was friendly and they give out treats to fur kids that come through the cash register. We had an AMAZING experience and Marisol spent so much time ensuring my pups groom was perfect. So happy with my visit here! Recently my cat had to have an emergency surgery to save his life and he came home six days later late at night from the pet hospital I was a wreck. I had to give him antibiotics orally and could not find a pill shooter anywhere. I had called three stores, it was about 15 minutes to close and I know people are busy and wanting to go home but Paige was a LIFESAVER. She reassured me on the phone that they had them in stock and to come on in, then interrupted what she was doing to walk me over and show me where they were, then seeing the line forming opened a new register to check me out, gave me a discount, and went on to help the others in line.
