    JZO Chirashi

We ordered JZO Sushi through Doordash and it was delicious! We ordered the Lovely Trio, A5 Wagyu Donburi and the Jzo Chirashi for a work gathering. One thing we were worried about was the fish being fresh enough after it being delivered but it was absolutely delicious when it got to our work meeting. The fish melts in your mouth... Although the prices are on the higher end, we thought it was worth it to have such high quality fish and meat. Can't wait to order food from them again!

Delicious fresh salmon + great portion! Good healthy option on the go- will definitely be back.

The bread is crunchy yet so light at the same time. HOW. But I think what makes it most unique is the way they toasted it. Was it toasted? Or was this another technique? I can't tell. But omg. I had this yesterday and contemplating coming back today. Anyway...enough of my banh mi rant. I've also had their ice dishes before but never posted it. But also very delicious! You honestly can't go wrong. For those who are unfamiliar with this business, it's truly a small business and they're parked right outside in the rose garden area. There's not much seating but plenty of park tables and benches nearby.

I had tried to come here in years past but was never able to grab a reservation. I was able to snag one this year, however it was only for the regular seating, not the chalet. This is located inside the Four Seasons hotel, on the patio area next to the restaurant. The area is decorated with Christmas lights and chalet-style houses for folks to lounge in. We were seated by the large fire in the center of the area, the fire was nice since it was quite cold out, however it started getting too hot - we felt like the flames were getting too close to our face at some points. Unsure if the setting was on too high or if that was by design.... Anyway, on to the food - everything was lackluster. There's a $95 set menu, you get to pick 4 things to share and 1 dessert each. We selected the charcuterie board, fondue set, wagyu sliders, and truffle potato gratin. For dessert, we selected the smores & the lava cake. Since it was my boyfriend's birthday, they also gave us a small cake separately with a candle on top - which was a nice touch. Although the service and experience was fine, the food was not up to par with a 5-star hotel and the 5-star price that accompanied it. I ended up paying ~$250 for a basic meal. Not worth it, wouldn't recommend coming here and I will not be returning.

It was so beautiful and really appealing. The customer service was over the top. I was hesitant about it being $95/pp but I would say it was worth it. You get 4 shareable items and two desserts and the choices were good. Drinks are not included but i had the peartini and it was phenomenal. I tried the waygu sliders, seafood pot pie, margarita pizza and chicken pasta everything was good but i couldve chose something else for the pizza. For dessert we tried the smores which was good and the apple tart i didnt care for but the icecream it came with was good. Perfect for date night or just hanging with friends. It also had a back area so two free hot chocolates were included but great for hanging out and photos.

I went to a place in OC which I thought was the best and Smash'd definitely represents for NorCal!! We got there to the Blue Oak Brewing Company a bit early thinking they started at 1 but found out that they actually started at 2. No worries, Blue Oak is a nice place for drinks and to hang around!! At 2 they start to take orders. Keep in mind because they make everything fresh it does take a bit for preparation but it is SO WORTH IT!! Got the double usual with caramelized onions and it's perfection. Crunchy, juicy, so much flavor and not greasy at all. And the bun they use is soft and pillowy. We had gotten some ketchup packets but it was perfect without it!! When I first looked at it I thought it was too much food and I would save some of it. BUT my mouth and brain had other thoughts .... First experience, my friend and I were quickly greeted and seated - no detail was spared with the setting, menu, napkin holders, teacups and teapot cozies. Chef/owner, Christina introduced herself, the food and each item as they were brought to the table. :: Freshly made sourdough with house made loquat jam - wow the bread itself was buttery and really didn't need any accompaniments. Crunchy exterior, soft and pillowy. The spicy jam was so yummy and bought some after the event! :: Charcuterie for 2! It was plenty to be shared by 4 but won't complain. Dates, homemade crackers: sourdough and seeded, prosciutto, salami, marconi almonds, Marin cheeses and housemade bread and butter pickles, pickled garlic and onions. So good! :: Savory sandwiches: Japanese-style egg salad (some soft-boiled egg), Green goddess, and a monte christo with accompanying house-made strawberry jam. Simple but all nicely prepared and delicious! :: Sweets: so many to list (see pics) - all beautifully presented, not overly sweet and plentiful! Yummy This is the first tea party where I didn't leave hungry! And you'll have leftovers as everything was so filling and satisfying. I should've paced myself with the charcuterie! Event duration: 2 - 2.5 hours, 11-130pm Setup: 2 tables of 6 so unless you have 6 people you will be sitting with 4 strangers but will make conversation quick as the commonality is food! If you're an introvert you may want to invite friends/family to fill a table. :) With perfect weather, good food in a beautiful setting you won't be disappointed. Had an overall mixed experience. Simple and easy to understand self-order kiosk. Ordered the Takoyaki Special with 5 regular and 5 negi mayo. The negi mayo was definitely the highlight, really flavorful and easily the better of the two. Also had the chicken katsu omelette curry, which was honestly kind of a disappointment. It tasted fine, but it did not live up to the expectations set by the visuals shown by their menu - it looked like what was visually advertised. The omelette was overcooked, and the katsu was overdone and inconsistent, with some pieces coming out pretty tough. Overall, the takoyaki was solid but the curry missed the mark.

I've passed this place countless times walking towards Kinokuniya and I finally had the chance to…read moretry. I ordered there Deluxe curry. I'm throughly disappointed and regret my decision. The katsu meat tasted and smelled of old pork. The egg was meh, kind of on the stiff side. But the worst part was the sauce or roux. No depth, barely any flavor, worst of all, it had this sandy grains, distasteful texture texture, very common when they don't cook the roux correctly without mixing/heating properly resulting in the uneven and left overs that are like sand grains. Again, there was just no flavor profile to the sauce. I tasted no vegetable nor meat being cooked with the sauce and I can tell it was cooked with zero regards. Somehow, it tasted more bland than cooking just the roux blocks with water. The rice was also dry and old. I imagine it wasn't kept warm in the cooker properly or simply just an old batch sitting there forever. The only redeeming quality was the ebi-fry which was somehow creamy and shrimpy and pretty good, which bumps it from like a 1.0 to 1.2 stars. Any random subpar sushi restaurant that seems to servers curry for some reason, still has a better curry than here. I really don't like this phrase, because most people usually overestimate their culinary skills (myself included). But, I could've made a better Japanese curry. In fact I have, and most people can make something better if they follow basic instructions and use actual vegetable and proteins in the cooking. Added to that, portion was tiny for a regular size too. The staff was just unserious and I didn't realize my plate was ready because the cashier staff was just whispering the order when they came out and going straight back to the holding area, I'd imagine probably to play with iPhone or something. Me and the others waiting realized it was ready, only when the chef came out all the way from kitchen and started yelling out with a booming voice of all the order numbers one after another, that were just sitting on the window kitchen window all this time. Thank you chef. The whole experience was shameful, disgusted even. Do not go here. This place is legit 1 star. I haven't seen a place with trash food and trash service this bad in a while. I would've told everyone to go straight to Curry Life few door down instead but sadly, I just realized it closed down. I don't know why they closed down and while this thing is still here. Even then, please, go few streets down to Demiya instead. This place should not be allowed to exist.
