This place does takeout only, it's not a dine-in restaurant, more like a ghost kitchen (the outside of the building labeled Culinary Block). There was plenty of parking in the lot on a Sunday evening, and service was standard and sufficient. I ordered the lion king baked roll without avocado. I don't care for wasabi or ginger (so I requested none of this), but the dish seemed to lack any sauce at all, the sweet sauce and spicy mayo missing or unnoticeable, so it was a bit dry. The Sushi Heroes is a ghost kitchen in the warehouse location with plenty of parking! This ghost kitchen supports 3 other businesses like Poke N' Squeeze, Pure Juice Organics, & Hello Boba. I was about to order a boba drink but it said my order would be ready in an hour. I didn't want to wait, so i didn't order one. The ambiance is similar to a business office lobby. Anyways, I pre-ordered... *Spicy Salmon Roll - Inside: Spicy Salmon, Cucumber Top: Tobiko Sauce: Spicy Mayo (3.5/5). I didn't really taste the spicy Salmon inside. *California Roll - Inside: Crab Mix, Avocado Top: Sesame Seeds (3/5). The crab mix portion was good. Don't be deceived by the area, it looks like a warehouse/building complex and it's a random spot to get food but the sushi was delicious! I've been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint.  It is a shared establishment with other food cuisines but I've only tried Sushi Heroes.  We ordered the  hulkamole and tiger king and they were delicious! They were big portions and definitely memorable! Two rolls were a perfect amount for two people to share for lunch. Be aware that there will be at least a 15 minute wait*** To order, scan the QR code on the wall (you'll need to make an account to order, a bit tedious). There were a few chairs indoors available to sit and wait but there are no tables. It is more of a takeout place. There was an outdoor table but it was dusty and covered with cobwebs so we ended up eating our meal in the car. There was ample parking and I am unsure if they have a customer restroom available. I like how they have a section of customer cards, so you can advertise your local business. The prices are a little steep but the quality makes it worth it! read more

These rolls a super large. It would be good to order from Sushi Heroes for parties and catering. However, that is also an indicator that you're not getting super fancy sushi. The rolls are different variations of California rolls. They contain the base ingredients of imitation crab, tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado. Then the rolls differ based on the garnishing fish: spicy tuna or salmon. Overall it's fine for basic sushi. I enjoyed our platter. read more

The service has gone down hill since my last visit over a year ago. Ordered a platter to be finished at 1:55, I came at 2:05 (was told another 5-10 minutes), now it's 2:30 and still my order is not done. I even received an email saying my order is ready. Jalapeño poppers were so creative being a Japanese spin with the tempura and sauce. The filling was on dry side as I think the cream cheese maybe got too cooked. I got basic rolls of California rolls and shrimp tempura. Not the prettiest but still tasty. The shrimp tempura was still crunchy as it was a door dash order. The colossal chicken was very good. I heard about this hole in the wall spot from a friend and had to check it out since it's not far from home. For $40 we got hefty platter for two and my bf and I couldn't even finish. We ordered online and the pickup was seamless and fast. No issues with service, staff provided soy sauce and chopsticks in our order too. I've picked up my orders when I was working in this area, as I don't do delivery services out of choice. They are in an industrial area, so if you're not savvy at driving in such zones, then choose delivery. San Jo actually has a thing with sushi. They love big, monstrous rolls with multi-ingredients and not so much traditional simple rolls. And often you'll even see lots of Mexican seafood places doing sushi where they'll take these monstrous multi-sauced rolls and incorporate ingredients that Mexicans are fond of like jalapenos, chipotle and lime. I've only tried a couple of things here and even though this isn't my preferred way to eat sushi, but when hungry and on a time constraint, this filled me up in a jiffy without pretense or hassle. Hamachi Lover ($15/4*) Spicy hamachi in the middle, hamachi slices on top then drizzled with spicy mayo and topped with green onions and fresh sliced jalapenos. Not as spicy as one would assume with these ingredients. This is a roll that I felt represented San Jose quite well, equal mix of Mexican and Asian. For a crazy roll, I actually liked it as it was a bit more focused by having just 3-4 ingredients versus 7-8. Feast Maker ($15/3*) I shared this once and this is truly one of those crazy monster rolls that I find more amusing than delicious. IMO a stoner's dream. Lol. This was a shrimp tempura in the middle, then topped with salmon and tuna slices on top. Probably has some cucs and avo in there as well and probably 2 sauces on top. Now the ingredients were fine, but this is where these types of rolls can get a bit busy for me. I only had half and I was actually full. So to that I guess I can't really hate on this too much. But to get this for myself, probably not, to share a few bites with someone who are more into these types of rolls, totally doable. I think they do most of their business from large catering orders from companies/businesses, so they'll go through their inventory quite well. This spot is tucked away in a warehouse, so don't be confused when you see a gate that says "No Parking." Just keep driving toward the end of the lot--there's plenty of parking available. The food is on the pricier side, especially for a ghost kitchen located in the middle of nowhere, but the quality and freshness make up for it. I ordered the baked salmon roll and a salmon bowl, and both were delicious. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely consider coming back to try more rolls! read more

It's been almost a year now since I've ordered. Now I remember why. 1) The sushi is pretty good. They got almost everything correct this time. The Dynamite rolls we ordered was missing both tobiko and tempura crumbs. Not a huge deal as I feel like they topped it with more spicy tuna to make up for it. I don't have any major issues with the quality of the food. The workers are doing their best. 2) the problem is their ordering system. When I talked to the owner in September 2022 (about 18 months ago), they told me that the system of reporting when orders are ready doesn't work right now. It automatically just reports orders being done at some set amount of time. What does that mean? It meant that despite the app (and email) telling me my order is ready at 6pm, I didn't get my order until about 30 minutes later. I feel like if they thought this was important, then they'd update it. Alternatively, the workers in the back are falsely reporting orders as ready to make their own numbers look good. We have ordered from The Sushi Heroes a few times and yesterday was our latest visit. We always ordered the The Avenger Sushi Platter with the following sushi: crazy, captain california, negi hama, shrimp man, and spicy scarlet tuna. The last two visits have been a disappointment. Yesterday was our "lets give them a chance because maybe previous order was their bad day" but once again...yesterday was just as bad if not worse. The portion was not the same as last year's: there were more rice; the fish were small and not fresh. You can just feel that they don't put in as much effort as they used to be. Wasabi - a gigantic blob (size of a tennis ball)right smacked in the middle of the tray. The crazy roll, supposed to have 3 different kinds of fish... i remember those three fish were in each piece of cut roll.. not separated. Yesterday they had it were the salmon was at one end, tuna was somewhere in the middle which by the way, only 1.5 pieces of the roll consisted of tuna, and at the other end was white tuna - which also was just two pieces. 4 pieces had salmon only in it. And the fish were fishy! both salmon and the white tuna were not good. I didnt even get to try the tuna because there was so little of it. . I remember when The Sushi Heroes had a brick and mortar store front in Alum Rock. First, because it was less than 5 minutes away from me and second, because the names of the sushi were named after superheroes. I missed being able to come in and look at the menu because it was nicely designed. This location is similar to a Local Kitchens. It's a little hard to find, to be honest. It's kinda tucked away in a dark business corner, so be aware of that. This is a quick fix sushi spot that's tasty and affordable. Refer to the menu for your preferences. I think it's just the rolls I ordered, but I thought they're just ok I got: -Iron Maki Salmon (Salmon roll) The rice was a little too squishy in this roll I got this because it was marked as popular on Grubhub, but it's too much rice, not enough filling...it's $9 tho so can't complain -Phat boy This one was good out of the 3 -Tiger King Over baked fish inside the roll. I love the concept of the superheroes. I've been coming here when they first open. Iron Salmon: It's a lot! The 10 piece roll is stuff to the maxed in crab mixture. The salmon is on top is yummy. Jalapeno popper bomb?: It had the right amount of spice. Crab rangoon: Good. Nova Gyoza: I paid a good price for it. The fried food was not greasy or made me feel sick even though I order a bunch of them. Fantastic Edamame: I needed some greens to cancel out the fried goodies and the rice with the crab mixture. They gave a lot, which I was happy about. A lot of places would give a handful of it for 5 dollars but not this place. I'm a repeated customer for sure. The food was beautifully presented but unfortunately not as good as I had hoped. Flavors just weren't there for me especially when it came to the sushi rice. Farrah is my hero for putting Sushi Heroes on my radar.  South Bay is not an area we frequent too often so am not too familiar with what's out there outside of what we mainly come through for, MoDo donuts, Hapa Musubi, Christmas in the Park.  So when I saw Farrah's pictures and review of sushi rolls with playful superhero names that she claims is as good as it looks, bookmarked!  Since we were eating it in the car, we went for the Family Meal for 2-3 which is 2 sushi hero rolls - Lightning Flash as I love anything with mango and Deadfish, 1 extra roll - Iron Maki Salmon and 2 super sides - the 4 pc vegetarian Mystic and 4 pc chicken Novo Gyoza.  I do wish the hamachi lover would've been included in one of those categories as I am a hamachi lover.  But coming in around $50 for all this food, I could afford to add the hamachi lover to my order in the future but not sure if we can polish off all that food in one sitting inside a car. read more

This is a really good take out only sushi 'restaurant'. I tried this place a few days ago. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and freshness of the sushi. Lots of choices for everyone's palette. We ordered 3 rolls: Deadfish, hamachi lover, and the Hulkamole. I would order all 3 of these again. We also ordered the fried chicken gyozas and shrimp tempura. The gyozas were a waste. Mostly dough, very little filling and poor flavor. However the tempura batter on the shrimp was unusually crunchy and not your typical tempura batter. I loved this batter! Purists will not appreciate this approach, but I loved them. I've found my newest guilty pleasure! Lastly, the value is what makes this take out sushi restaurant 5 stars. Sushi is expensive. However Sushi Heroes is the most reasonably priced sushi, with the highest quality I've had in years...and I'm still dreaming about that shrimp tempura. read more

I came here a second time to pick up a to-go order. I ordered the spicy salmon lover roll, which I liked the last time I got it and I also ordered something new - the dragon roll. I've ordered the dragon roll a bunch of times from other sushi places before but this was the first time where I ordered it and didn't like it. the shrimp tempura was really hard to bite through and I'm not sure what exactly they did to make it so hard but it really threw me off and a lot of the pieces were like that. This sushi joint is really good! We've ordered from here couple of times for delivery. The Lion King Roll is a must try, we always get that. We got Man of Eel for the first time and it was good. I thought the eel sauce was really salty though. Lastly, we got the Hamachi Lover again. I'm not a big fan of spicy tuna but my husband is and that hit the spot for him. This is a to go place, and delivery is available. We got a delivery of a large platter of sushi, some rolls were California; not sure of the names of the other rolls. It was beautifully arranged before we ate it, and the sushi were nice, big and plentiful. You get a decent amount of ginger with it. I thought it was flavorful, with the fish, avocado and seasonings making a nice bite. The large platter is good for a party. Sushi Heroes is a good, fresh alternative to dining in a fancy sushi restaurant. While the rolls are nothing to call home about, they are still tasty and filling for a decent price. They no longer have an actual restaurant but instead operate out of a ghost kitchen. It's fairly easy to find parking and then go in and request your order. they are always super timely and polite when you go in and you can tell it's a very sweet family who runs it, because sometimes their kids are there! I really like the names of all the rolls, too. It adds a layer of fun, especially if you're a comic or super hero nerd. My boyfriend loves it! We also added 2 additional rolls. The Aquafan Roll and Iron Salmon roll were AMAZING. Literally party in your mouth with flavors and textures. The lightning Flash is next runner up but on the sweeter side. Accidentally ordered the Creamy California instead of capitan California, I blame hangry brain. It's not our fav since we didn't really taste the cream cheese but still pretty good. The iron Maki White Tuna was filled with huge pieces of fish and avocado. Dont get me wrong, it wasn't because it didn't look good, it was because before the pandemic we would go out to eat at the restaurant and make a date out of it. But during a pandemic? Sushi Heroes is perfect! They make ordering online and picking up a cinch! Literally takes a few minutes! Parking in this area is challenging given there are only two spots in front on Alum Rock but you could park at the 7/11 and walk over. I had the orange blossom and the red blossom. Ordered five rolls and two teriyaki bowls for July 4th. The rolls all taste the same, even though on the menu they have different ingredients, I think this is because they all just have the same sweet sauce on them. I wish the staffs could make them more tasty by using different flavor. The beef teriyaki is too chewy to chew, can't eat at all, I don't know how to make the meat softer so that I could eat them later. Another problem with the beef is there are lambs in them, the taste of the lamb is SO STRONG that there's no way I could get it wrong! They don't have any lamb items on the menu, how come there's lamb in my beef bowl?! Do they just mix whatever meat and cook and serve?! The chicken teriyaki just as good as expected. The presentation of the food is great, just they all taste the same: taste like sweet teriyaki sauce. I asked for non spicy but they still put spicy mayo on one of the baked rolls, I asked for sauce in the side because their sauce is just too sweet, but they just put all the sauce on the food regardless. I have strong reason to believe this business is also DBA under "Teriyaki Heroes" as they also have a product called "Colossal Chicken Teriyaki". I want to ask them to please stop and stick to sushi. Our company has catered them twice, and there is ZERO teriyaki sauce at all in their products. Why would you call anything you are serving teriyaki when there's no sauce on it at all? It's like offering mac and cheese but when you get served, you only get mac! Or at least leave some bucket of sauce like other catering companies do.
