Don't be deceived by the area, it looks like a warehouse/building complex and it's a random spot to get food but the sushi was delicious! I've been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint.  It is a shared establishment with other food cuisines but I've only tried Sushi Heroes.  We ordered the  hulkamole and tiger king and they were delicious! They were big portions and definitely memorable! Two rolls were a perfect amount for two people to share for lunch. Be aware that there will be at least a 15 minute wait*** To order, scan the QR code on the wall (you'll need to make an account to order, a bit tedious). There were a few chairs indoors available to sit and wait but there are no tables. It is more of a takeout place. There was an outdoor table but it was dusty and covered with cobwebs so we ended up eating our meal in the car. There was ample parking and I am unsure if they have a customer restroom available. I like how they have a section of customer cards, so you can advertise your local business. The prices are a little steep but the quality makes it worth it!

The service has gone down hill since my last visit over a year ago. Ordered a platter to be finished at 1:55, I came at 2:05 (was told another 5-10 minutes), now it's 2:30 and still my order is not done. I even received an email saying my order is ready. They seem to be more focused on chit-chatting in back and listening to music. Sadly I was a huge supporter of this place but next time I'll just order somewhere closer to work.

Jalapeño poppers were so creative being a Japanese spin with the tempura and sauce. The filling was on dry side as I think the cream cheese maybe got too cooked. I got basic rolls of California rolls and shrimp tempura. Not the prettiest but still tasty. The shrimp tempura was still crunchy as it was a door dash order. The colossal chicken was very good. Veggies cooked to a nice texture and chicken great flavor. I've tried other speciality rolls here prior and I enjoyed although the toppings were quite a lot.

I heard about this hole in the wall spot from a friend and had to check it out since it's not far from home. For $40 we got hefty platter for two and my bf and I couldn't even finish. We ordered online and the pickup was seamless and fast. No issues with service, staff provided soy sauce and chopsticks in our order too. The location seems unassuming and I wasn't sure I was in the right spot at first. It's a kitchen pick-up so everything is to-go. what we choose for our Small Avenger Platter: - Creamy Scallop: i love scallop and this did not disappoint - Green Spicy Tuna: this was good but a little too spicy for me. if you love spicy tuna this is def worth a try - Shrimp-Man: this was my bf's fav roll and he did not have high expectations lol. pleasantly surprised - Philly: your standard cream cheese roll. you can't go wrong with a classic! - Spicy Scallop: my second favorite

Ghost Kitchen sushi, strictly take-out either call/pick up yourself or get it delivered to you via delivery platform. I've picked up my orders when I was working in this area, as I don't do delivery services out of choice. They are in an industrial area, so if you're not savvy at driving in such zones, then choose delivery. San Jo actually has a thing with sushi. They love big, monstrous rolls with multi-ingredients and not so much traditional simple rolls. And often you'll even see lots of Mexican seafood places doing sushi where they'll take these monstrous multi-sauced rolls and incorporate ingredients that Mexicans are fond of like jalapenos, chipotle and lime. I've only tried a couple of things here and even though this isn't my preferred way to eat sushi, but when hungry and on a time constraint, this filled me up in a jiffy without pretense or hassle. Hamachi Lover ($15/4*) Spicy hamachi in the middle, hamachi slices on top then drizzled with spicy mayo and topped with green onions and fresh sliced jalapenos. Not as spicy as one would assume with these ingredients. This is a roll that I felt represented San Jose quite well, equal mix of Mexican and Asian. For a crazy roll, I actually liked it as it was a bit more focused by having just 3-4 ingredients versus 7-8. Feast Maker ($15/3*) I shared this once and this is truly one of those crazy monster rolls that I find more amusing than delicious. IMO a stoner's dream. Lol. This was a shrimp tempura in the middle, then topped with salmon and tuna slices on top. Probably has some cucs and avo in there as well and probably 2 sauces on top. Now the ingredients were fine, but this is where these types of rolls can get a bit busy for me. I only had half and I was actually full. So to that I guess I can't really hate on this too much. But to get this for myself, probably not, to share a few bites with someone who are more into these types of rolls, totally doable. I think they do most of their business from large catering orders from companies/businesses, so they'll go through their inventory quite well. But for the common 408 youngster who probably uses delivery services daily, this is a decent out for ya.

    #4 Iron Salmon Hero Roll

I remember when The Sushi Heroes had a brick and mortar store front in Alum Rock. First, because it was less than 5 minutes away from me and second, because the names of the sushi were named after superheroes. I missed being able to come in and look at the menu because it was nicely designed. This location is similar to a Local Kitchens. It's a little hard to find, to be honest. It's kinda tucked away in a dark business corner, so be aware of that. This is a quick fix sushi spot that's tasty and affordable. Refer to the menu for your preferences. I always make sure I get deep fried California roll because my partner doesn't eat raw fish and he loves it! If you put your number into their system, sometimes they send promo codes :)

We've been ordering from Sushi Heroes for a while now. The first time we went to the store a few years back and it was a small store front w/ collectible marvel and super hero toys. Not much room to sit and eat, so we grabbed our food and ate in the car. Parking wasn't easy, but the food was good, hands down. We've been ordering for delivery from there for our sushi fix!

Iron Maki Salmon Tiger King (Baked) PhatBoy
    Coleen P.

Meh. I think it's just the rolls I ordered, but I thought they're just ok I got: -Iron Maki Salmon (Salmon roll) The rice was a little too squishy in this roll I got this because it was marked as popular on Grubhub, but it's too much rice, not enough filling...it's $9 tho so can't complain -Phat boy This one was good out of the 3 -Tiger King Over baked fish inside the roll. It's cooked fish topped with more cooked fish. I was thinking it was a Lion King roll, but my fault for not reading the description I'd rather order from Sushi Day or Sen Dai, but I might try different rolls another time.

Left to right: tuna torch, HULKAMOLE, sushi manhunter
    Frank L.

This is a casual sushi spot that focuses more on rolls. They have an avengers theme goin on that's kinda cool. Got 3 rolls from em... The HULKAMOLE, SUSHI MAN HUNTER, and the TUNA TORCH. All of em were pretty good it just depends what fish/combination you like. Overall, felt the quality of the woods were good and wouldn't mind comin back if I was craving rolls

Forgot to take photos of the Sake Don, Chirashi and Sashimi plates, only remembered taking photo of the first roll order that came out. The roll was just ok. The rice was a bit too soft, more like rice cake. Considering the sauces that were on that roll, it was fairly bland. The fish slices were thick and fresh enough to not have strong fishy aftertaste even though we had quite a lot of them. The chirashi bowl and sashimi plate came with the same exact fish selection: salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore/white tuna (I think), mackerel, and escolar. Yes, this place is one of those that has escolar. It didn't register in my mind at first until I ate a couple of pieces, I thought it was pretty good, but then I remembered what I read about that fish ... We quickly finish up, pay, and drove home with minutes to spare. Price to quality is decent compared to other sushi place, I have had better sushi at similar price point but it is not bad at all. Payment and tipping practice still with paper bill that was left on the table for us to fill.

The food was very good and we gave a solid 10/10 (the ratio of rice to filling was well balanced), the hot sake was smooth, and the beer was very cold. Everything was priced well compared to other sushi restaurants. Most rolls we ordered ranged from $6.95 to $13. Staff were very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean and quiet. The service was really good though. Food came out fast both times after ordering. The gentleman that was helping our table was very kind and attentive. He kept coming by to check on how everything was going. The food itself was pretty good, but there is a lack of consistency from last year compared to this year. I did not want to make a fuss about it at the restaurant, but I was quite disappointed with the quality of the fish. It wasn't as fresh this time. The restaurant has a cozy vibe. There's 30 minute parking available at the front of the restaurant. It is all street parking. The first time I was here we ordered: -Dragon Roll -Beef Roll -Gyoza -Chicken Karaage -Fried Calamari -Salmon Maki -Salmon Avocado -Double Double Salmon -49ers Roll Second Time Order: -Alaska Roll -Salmon Maki -Rock n Roll -Chicken Karaage appetizer -Fried Calamari appetizer -Golden California Roll -Dragon Roll -Salmon Avocado The Alaska roll according to the menu has spicy cooked salmon, cucumber, topped with unagi sauce and tobiko. The unagi sauce seemed to be more at the bottom than drizzled at top, but the waitress was kind enough to ask me if I wanted some of the unagi sauce on the side, which was very nice. It made a big difference in terms of flavor. Eating the Alaska roll without the extra unagi sauce, I was only able to taste the Sriracha. By the way, it did not mention on the menu that the Alaska roll was going to have both spicy mayo and Sriracha on it. I'm not a fan of Sriracha. The spicy mayo I can do, but the Sriracha ruined it for me. The dragon roll was ordered last year and this year. Please see the photos for how inconsistent the roll is. There were more ingredients the first time we ordered this roll. There was more avocado last year. The gyozas were pretty good. They came out hot and crispy, but not dry. They had a good amount of flavor. The beef roll had asparagus and beef in it. It's a pretty good combination. The chicken Karaage was good both times, but I did notice it was juicier when we ordered it last year. The salmon maki was much better last year than when I ordered it this year. I am not sure if a different person was making the rolls, but the rolls didn't fall apart last time like it did today. Most importantly though, the salmon was fresher the first time I had it. They definitely changed something other than the appearance. It was also pretty upsetting that the pieces of salmon maki were uneven. Only 2 of the pieces were tall, whereas last year, I was given all 6 pieces that had the same height. It makes it look like the sushi I got today was less. I had all the photos of the sushi from last year on my old phone, so I wasn't able to show the waiter or the owner the comparison. The rock n roll is a good portion, but there was barely any bbq eel in it. It was literally just a little tiny piece in the corner of the sushi. I do appreciate that the avocado is fresh and creamy in the rolls that we ordered. 49ers roll - is one of my go to rolls for something light and refreshing. The lemon slices add a really nice touch. I love that the lemon is thinly sliced and the rind was actually included. It adds a bit of tartness to the flavor, which I find satisfying. The salmon was very fresh. I only ordered it last year and not this time since my husband and I were at a prior event that had food, but we were still craving sushi lol. The fried calamari was good, but this time that we got it, the portion was significantly smaller. I'm not sure why. It has good texture and crispiness. There was also a piece of calamari that ended up in our chicken Karaage, which we didn't know what it was at first, but later found out it was calamari lol. No complaints about the Double Salmon Roll. If you love raw salmon, more raw salmon, avocado and tobiko, that one is a good option. The Golden California roll was okay. We felt like it had too much batter though. Salmon Avocado roll was a lot better the first time we were here as well. I don't know if their raw fish supplier changed or something, but the salmon definitely didn't taste the same. I know it's been a year and some may think how do I remember? I'm a sushi fanatic/connoisseur. When I eat sushi and it's good, I have a little happy dance that I do. First time I was here I did the happy dance and that's why I wanted to come back here again. The prices are very affordable here and the service is great. However, I was pretty disappointed today (8/8/2026) with the presentation of the rolls and the freshness of the salmon or lack of freshness I should say. I would love to come back again, but I just don't want to be disappointed. I'm really hoping to have a better food experience here in the future.

If you're ok with spotty service then you'll be fine for a good meal.
