    Classic poke bowl
    Sheila E.

Classic poke bowl was mediocre. Not enough fish and it was heavy on the imitation crab. Got it over salad and it was ice berg lettuce with no dressing. The ingredients seemed fresh at least but there was hardly any flavor. Poke should be raw marinated fish and this was just not it.

After reading plenty of the reviews, felt like I should try it out myself, great customer service the nicest people inside. A little small but the cutest decorations inside that make it very welcoming the food it's satisfies. It's not the best sushi around a little pricey for the quality that you get.

Ordered Akita Sushi's Bento Box, consisting of 4 pieces of salmon sashimi and 3 slices of sizable salmon teriyaki, with sides of fresh lettuce, tomato cucumber salad and fistfull of boiled Japanese rice accompanied by shavings of pickled ginger and a dollop of spicy wasabi. Purchased through Relish website, as a workday lunch item. Sashimi was super-fresh with a lovely salmon pink color! The salmon teriyaki tasted boiled; cooked just right with NO odd fishy flavors! A definite recommend!

A bit on the expensive side. Spent $44 bux on takeout for a poke bowl and a chicken teriyaki bento box. The food is pretty tasty and the location is ideal for us. But definitely overpriced.

Shrimp Tempura Roll, LION KING (baked)
    Alfred L.

Disappointing Quality, but Cheap Deals I ordered the Lion King roll and a shrimp tempura roll for takeout, and unfortunately, both were a letdown. The shrimp tempura roll was mostly rice with a tiny piece of shrimp that tasted like it had been fried in old oil. The Lion King roll had a strong fishy smell and taste, which was surprising (and concerning) for a baked salmon roll. On top of that, neither roll was cut all the way through--something that seems pretty basic for a sushi restaurant. The only saving grace? Uber Eats offers BOGO sushi roll deals weekly, making it a cheap option. But even at a discount, I wouldn't rush to order again.

Rice is not fully cooked and just look at this photo. How is it acceptable to send something like this to a customer?

The food seriously needs some adjustments. Tried it at the restaurant and at home. This has to be the most unbalanced type of roll at a restaurant for this price. There was more rice than the rice amount of costco sushi. Either they get their rolls from costco to resell it or should be at a lower price. Warnings about allergy restrictions.

Got the food via DoorDash so this is only a food review and it's very average, uneventful and nothing to write home about kind of average flavor. The miso soup is on the light side of flavor, the baked roll Samurai has spicy crab, tempura shrimp, salmon and tobiko in spicy mayo and unagi sauce, but I honestly couldn't taste a different texture of tempura shrimp or crabmeat. It's not spicy until the after taste but I think I only tasted the baked salmon's flavor and spicy aftertaste. Probably won't go again to explore more.

    Hamachi lover, salmon avocado roll
    Megan T.

Writing a review based on my dine-in experience. Super small restaurant with seating for around 10-12 and street parking available. I ordered the hamachi lover and salmon roll. The rolls here are slightly cheaper than other places but the quality of fish reflects that- not the best or freshest. The rolls also had a lot of rice that wasn't cooked or seasoned well, the texture was pretty packed and mushy. Additionally, there was a bone in the hamachi. We also asked the waiter if we could order the godzilla roll (dinner menu exclusive) and he said it was fine. It wasn't until we received all of our food when he came back to us and said they couldn't make the roll. I feel like they could've let us known earlier so we didn't have to wait longer for them to make another roll.

    HAMACHI LOVER ROLL
    Katelynn V.

My boyfriend and I ordered this on uber eats because we were craving sushi. We ordered three things: hamachi lover roll, sashimi deluxe, and their lion king baked roll. 1. Hamachi lover roll: This was my favorite roll. I love the salmon and hamachi fish together. The avocado adds a nice touch to even out the fish taste. Overall I like this roll the best because it has a nice fresh fish taste to it. 2. Sashimi deluxe: This comes with 16 pieces of sashimi and 4 pieces of diff kinds. There are tuna, salmon, hamachi, and escolar. The fish itself tasted alright not the most freshest I've had but not the worse. It also comes with a side of rice which did not taste like fresh rice but it wasn't too bad. The escolar fish was interesting and tasted a bit fatty! 3. Lion king baked roll: This tastes like the classic lion king baked roll I've bad at most sushi places. It is good but not the best I've had. I do like how it's quite saucy and they added a lot to it. Overall the size of the rolls were decent and cut nicely. The presentation of them was nice! I would get the hamachi lover roll again and probably try some of their other rolls!

Food truck at Santa Clara 4th of July Celebration
    Annabelle R.

Picked up some sushi and snacks from this food truck during the Santa Clara 4th of July Celebration event last week. The dragon sushi roll (minus avocado) and spicy tuna roll were pretty good, the latter not very spicy, but it was fine. In the poke bowl, the salmon and tuna didn't taste the freshest, but not bad overall. The wait for the our order was a bit long, but not terrible for a food truck at a busy event. Service was standard, no extras but no problems.

The food is great, we obtained it by Door Dash order. The sushi taste wise is above the usual, I recommend it for anyone who enjoys sushi overall.

I got the large bowl with the soba noodle option (my first time getting it). This was like any other poke places, but the toppings offered were a lot more! I like that they had, mango, pineapple, radish, tomatoes, and chicharrones. And I LOVED that avocado, crab salad, and seaweed salad were already included in the price. I got the last of the soba noodles, so I was surprised that even though it was closing, she went into the back to get me more soba noodles even though it seemed like the amount she had given me was enough. they also allowed however many sauces you wanted to marinate the fish in. I chose unagi, the house sauce and ponzu. I also asked for spicy mayo drizzle at the end. my brother got the wasabi mayo but he said he barely tasted the wasabi when mixed in. total came out to be around $40 for two large bowls. I wasn't sure what I was expecting for the soba noodles, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. the sauces from the marinade seeped into the noodles gave it a nice light flavor. the fish was fresh and chicharrones were such a good contrast with the crunch (im a huge textures girl). I was able to eat half and and save the other half for lunch the next day. because I got soba noodles, I did not have to worry about heating up rice and separating the fish, so it was perfect. This might be a new way im gonna have to eat my poke from now on!

Either the guava or the Iilikoi are solid. They do a promo if you order 3 versus just one. Interior is counter top service. Basically walk in the line and order the food and walk to the cashier. Price is pretty steep for something like this. The owner or person taking our order seemed like a confident or very straight forward / strong type personality, which I'm fine with because I naturally have a bit of a strong personality as well so it didn't bother me, although it would've been better if he smiled or something so it doesn't seem like he's coming off like a New Yorker. Just sayin. But I also know that he's simply doing his job so it's nothing personal. Anyhow, the food he talked a good game on it being the best in the Bay Area turned out to be quite mid IMPO. The shrimp was 100% overcooked, the side Mac salad was actually *not* good at all and it sucks because that's something I feel like you can't mess up but it was gross unfortunately, I spat it out even tho I hate wasting food. It just didn't taste freshly made whatsoever. The poke bowl wasn't comparable to Hawaii since he mentioned it's just as good... but honestly I think everyone's taste buds are different because to me, the poke bowl was totally mid, but it could taste really good to someone else and that's certainly OK! Also -- I like salty things esp when I crave for it but this was quite heavy on the salt, which made my experience the way it was. Even though it could've been better, I came with no expectations and just wanted to see what the fuss was about. That said, the only thing that was good was the rice cracker snack we bought and that's it. Glad I still gave this place a try, but personally for me, it's definitely my last visit. Maybe I'll come back at an earlier time to get one of their strawberry mochi but other than that, I think I'll rest my case here.

I walked in, relieved to discover it was a poke spot, and decided to have lunch there. I ordered a bowl with white rice as my base and two proteins: tuna and yellowtail. To my surprise, I could add five toppings, so I went with crab meat, mango, cucumber, edamame, and scallions. I don't recall the exact sauces or sprinkles they put on, but the bowl was enormous--which explained the nearly $30 price tag! I grabbed a seat by the window overlooking the parking lot. The chair was a bit snug, but I didn't mind as I dug into my fresh, flavorful poke bowl. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The staff member helping me was new, shadowed by the manager as he assembled my order, but he did a great job! After another grueling 90-minute Bikram Yoga session, I debated between returning here or grabbing Taco Bell, which was much cheaper and in the same shopping center. Despite the price difference, I chose the healthier option. Since the restaurant was packed and I was eager to get home, I decided to order to go. This time, a young woman helped me build a bowl with half purple rice and half white rice. Purple rice is a highly nutritious whole grain, so I was eager to try it. It had a ougher texture to chew than white or brown rice, but I still enjoyed my lunch. For protein, I chose tuna and spicy tuna. I rattled off a long list of toppings before realizing I'd already hit the five-topping limit. I wished I could swap one of the mangoes out, but instead, I paid the extra $1.25 for an additional topping. The young woman was efficient, and I was out of there in no time. Overall, I'm a fan of this restaurant. I can definitely see myself coming back after future Bikram Yoga sessions in the 'torture chamber.'
