I gave very little direction just asked to kind of clean him up cause he was looking scraggly but to still keep some length and when I went to pick him up he looked so handsome! After learning some disturbing news of our groomer in Pflugerville we decided to look for somewhere new. K&A was highly rated on Yelp and I'd seen it mentioned in our local Facebook group so we thought we'd give it a shot. When we called to make our appointment they were very friendly and information. When we arrived we brought some photos of past grooming where we really liked how she looked. The groomer took the time to meet with us and asked quite a few questions so she was sure she understand what we wanted. The shop itself was very nice and very clean. There is a small waiting area. From there you can see through a wall with a window into the back. There is also a reception desk where they check in the dogs. Through the window is a room with couches where the dogs can lay. They made sure to tell us it was based on the dog's temperament. Some of them were created in the back. Past that room was the grooming area. It was all very clean and very nicely decorated. I really do love the set up. They quoted us longer than it actually took, which was nice. We were out and about and couldn't get back there, which wasn't a problem. When we picked her up we were so excited with the looks. They captured it perfectly! If you're in the area and need a groomer we highly recommend checking this out. As someone has been to most of the groomers in Pflugerville this is by far our favorite! read more

Between a huge move from an apartment in Austin to our first home in Round Rock, we were stressed with a million other things, and finding a good groomer was stressing me out even more. We used to just take our schnauzer, Bailey, to Petsmart but I had heard bad things about the one near our home, and I began thinking I would so much rather support a small local business if I could, so I took to Google, found amazing reviews for K&A and decided to give it a shot. I called for an appointment the day before I needed to have her groomed, and they fit us in with no problem. When I arrived to the store, I expected it to smell like wet dog, like a lot of groomer places do, but it surprisingly smelled really pleasant! I liked that they had a glass window for you to see into the grooming space. Instead of driving home, I decided to wait in the lobby until they were done since they mentioned it would only take about an hour to an hour and a half to groom her. 45 minutes later Bailey was out and looking like a whole other dog! They cut her very short all over, which I asked them to do, and made sure they cut her eyebrows short enough to where I could see her eyes. I can tell she feels so so much better now that she doesn't look like a hot mess! read more

I'd give no stars if I could. My mom brought her sweet little shitzu in for the second time. I went with to pick her up and upon looking at her fur we noticed how botched her haircut was. The rubber band holding her little pony tail up was the same my mom put in. She wasn't bathed. Her hair was cut way more than it was supposed to be and hair that WAS supposed to be cut was left looking like my 6 year old cut it. $81 later and my mom is left to fix it. They hardly spent time working on her. Big gob of fur in her little eye. After reading the other reviews she will for sure not be going back. Update to business, reread the post. Took my 13 year old Shih Tzu here to get groomed and I have never seen a groomer do this good of a job! My dog is a little antsy and does not like her paws touched, but when I picked her up they were perfectly cut and clipped. They did the cut exactly how I wanted it and she has never looked this good after a grooming. When I picked her up, she acted like she didn't want to leave. Usually she is crying to get home, but she was so calm and I could tell she was treated well. Groomers in the past have always complained about her because she's a tough one to groom and sometimes even charge me extra, but I had zero complaints from them. I took my dog in March and the person was rude on drop off and pick up AND my dog was razor burned :( He couldn't seat down for days! he was running around the house crazy because he had a cut on his butt. I can highly recommend this place for all animal lovers. I bring my westie to K&A grooming and he comes out looking good and happy! You can tell that they care about their furry clients. My westie has issues getting his nails trimmed, but they seem to find a way to get it done! Their prices are also affordable and the full service typically doesn't last longer than 2 hours. Being new to the area finding a groomer for my 2 Havanese was a must. I am so appreciative of the service here. Lots and lots of questions. Which is great. I did a lot of yelp research before selecting a groomer that met my criteria. I came here with my 5 month old standard poodle puppy that had never been professionally groomed before. They were very accommodating and nice and I like that they didn't put the dogs in kennels. My girl wasn't very happy to be left there but it wasn't bad. I had a hair appointment for myself in down town Austin and she was done being groomed about an hour and a half after I dropped her off and they didn't have any problem about me leaving her there until I could pick her up. She looked great when I arrived and was happy but ready to go home. It was about $65 all in all after the tip. When I could inspect her closer at home I was a little disappointed to see her puppy cut wasn't very neat. Her underside was nicked in a couple places and was uneven. I have shaved her in a puppy cut at home a couple weeks before and I couldn't tell any difference in what I had already done as far as the sanitary area goes. Her paws looked good, but the hair was still too long between the toes and under her paws, and her muzzle and neck looked nearly untouched to what she had come in with. However her nails looked fantastic. Basically I felt like I paid $65 for nails, a bath and blow our, and some evening out of her topknot and coat and not much else. The whole cut seemed a little messy or hastily done. I don't know if they were inexperienced with a larger dog, or if she misbehaved- they didn't say anything to me about it though. What really topped it off was two days later, I was brushing her and discovered fleas, which she definitely didn't have before. Thankfully they were already dead or near death due to the preventative medicine she's on. Needless to say I was infuriated, I called and they assured me they treat for fleas every month and the most they could give her was a flea bath. We live an hour away and that wasn't an option. So she had a regular bath at home and there goes half of the money I spent. We won't be coming back, and will opt for something closer to where we go in Austin next time. read more

We went in for a quick nail trim. My dog is leash reactive so we use a basket muzzle seeing as there's a good chance we will run into other dogs. I let the employees know he is reactive to other dogs but is fine with humans. His nails looked fine but the lack of professionalism at this place deters me from coming back again. Upon taking him back, he starts reacting to other dogs and I hear an employee tell her coworkers "worst dog ever". read more

I cannot tell you how happy I am we found this groomer. We moved from Florida where our Shiba Inu literally was terrified of the groomer. He would cry on the way in and come home traumatized every time. It broke our hearts every time we had to bring him. We recently moved to Pflugerville and were tasked with finding a groomer and we were just nervous because of all our past experience with bad groomers for our pup. We did a yelp search and discovered K & A Grooming. SO happy! When I first dropped off our dog, the groomer and I had a conversation where she asked me a ton of questions to get to know our dogs behavior and personality. I felt like I was genuinely listened to. When I picked our dog up, he was not in a kennel! He was in a general area with another dog and they were just hanging out! He was excited to see me, but not fighting to get out of the place. He was happy! You could tell he did not have a terrible time like before. The grooming itself was great. His major issue was his shedding. They did a treatment on him that was so amazing! No more hair everywhere! He smelled so good from his bath and his nails were cut perfectly. The price was good too. Much cheaper than the big box stores and much better! I have mixed reviews about this place. I'm assuming this place is very popular, I called to make an appointment and I was all set to have my 3 pups groomed in a week in a half. The girl I spoke with was very kind sounding and she even told us we can drop of our pups at 8:45 (our appointment was at 10:30) because my family and I had work during the day. PROS: When the dogs came out they were so happy to see us. They had two of our dogs in a play pin away from other dogs because they can get anxious around others, and our third dog was in the back away from any other dogs because he is dog aggressive. They told us something nice about each pup, "he looks good for being 15 years old" or "he is such a good dog and so cute", so it was nice hearing that they payed attention to our puppy children. I've taken my dogs to one other groomer in round rock, but each of my dogs have never smelled better! They smell like vanilla and they've never been more soft! The haircuts are beautiful!! CONS: because we were told we can drop the dogs off at 8:45, my mom dropped them off before she had to come into work. Nobody showed up until a little after 9... I can understand traffic maybe, but it was just a little bit of a pain when you're being told one thing and another thing happens. When she was dropping the pups off, the lady was asking for vet records, which we were never told we needed (our previous groomer never asked for it). During previous visits to a different groomer, they would shave our rat terrier/jack Russell's hair too short to where she was pink. My mom asked the lady to not shave her too close to her skin because this happened before, the lady responded in a rude manner telling her they won't shave her because her hair is too short (it was definitely long) and that they will TRY to cut her hair. You'll try or you WILL cut her hair, which is it?? So we got a bad vibe at the very beginning. As soon as we brought our pups home, they ran outside immediately to head for the potty or the water bowl. Our pups were QUENCHED and I'm assuming they weren't taken outside once in the 4 hour period we were there. Our pup's nails were cut so clean and perfect... ALMOST. We noticed on our dachshund's nails that they were cut a little bit short and I did notice they seemed a little pink (his nails are black). It seems they cut his nails too short but he isn't limping with any sign of pain. read more

Disappointed to be having to find a new place to take our dog for grooming, for his first couple of trips they had taken their time, did a quality job, and ensured us that our dog would have the same groomer. On our most recent trip, upon arrival we realized a new person, Sarah, would be grooming our dog. At first we didn't think this would be a big deal, boy were we wrong. After a short discussion when dropping him off we expected the same cut as he had gotten before, which we were told would take 2 hour as usual. The first red flag was when we received a call to pick him up within 45 minutes. When we returned, Sarah was long gone. Our dog had received a much shorter cut than we discussed, his tail had not been touched, his nails were poorly done at best, and he was noticeably acting strange. After a few days of being bothered by his rear we took him to the vet who informed us they had done an incomplete job expressing his anal glands. Even after all this, we were willing to try with another person and chalk this up to an off trip. We called to schedule and after being offered an appointment with Sarah, simply asked if there was someone else was available. At this point the owner became defensive and we were told they had no other groomers at all, very surprising considering how many there were previously. They've certainly lost us as a customer and we will encourage as many others as possible to stay away from K&A. read more

I moved to the Austin area from Dallas about three years ago, and I have been scared to take my dog to a new groomer because his groomer in Dallas always told us how crazy he was. These girls almost always have same day or next day appointments and only take about an hour. They have a couple corrals for the dogs to run around in. I always use them and my little guy always come home happy and handsome! read more

They asked questions upon check in and tell you how your baby did. Their prices are reasonable too! My only comment is their hours on yelp, I believe, are incorrect. I made a last minute appointment for both my pups a few weeks back. I was just getting buried under how quickly my cocker spaniel was developing mats in her fur. I dropped them off around 9:30am (early) and the girls were super welcoming. They also somehow convinced my shy dogs to go into the back room with them. At 12:30, both were ready to be picked up. They seemed so happy and relaxed, had been evenly shaved, and had the cutest bandannas to go with their new cut. Also, holy inexpensive! 90$ for full service groom, for BOTH dogs. read more

One of our dogs is extremely difficult to groom, and we have taken him to PetsMart multiple times and picked him up without a full haircut because the groomers said they couldn't finish him, but K&A was able to work some magic and give him a super handsome haircut without stressing him out! They called as soon as the pups were ready and when I picked them up, I couldn't believe how adorable they looked! These are the BEST groomers we have ever found (and we have been to a lot)! Ariel and staff treat my old Lab Retriever so well, and she always comes home well de-shedded, smelling great (which is not easy to do on a Lab!) and has a cute bandana around her neck :) They are true to their schedule as long as you show up on time, unlike many groomers where I drop off and have to leave her for 4+ hours for her turn! Fairly priced, enough so that I am happy to give 20%+ tip. My dog is 15-yrs-old, deaf and weakening in the back legs. I trust them completely to return her happy and loved. Only suggestion is to book at least 1 week in advance, and they are closed Mondays. read more

From booking my appointment to check in to check out, every single staff member treats me and my pets like family! I've had my pure bred Basset Hound bathed and nails done many times. And my tiny in size but larger than life in personality Emotional Support Dog, Fez has been bathed, groomed, pampered, and nails shortened up. He normally hates his feet messed with. We were driving by and happened to see the sign for K & A Grooming. Our dog Jabba is an older dog and a bit on the difficult side when it comes to grooming. They did a great job and our sweet girl looks so pretty. The thing that impressed me the most is the email I got from Ariel today to check on my girl and make sure all was good with her.
