It has been years and years since I last dined at a cafeteria. What took me so long? I like the format, you walk in and can instantly pick out whatever you want, it is already cooked and ready to go. They put it on a plate for you, what can be simpler and more efficient? I had the grilled hamburger, a salad and some green beans, all were very nice. Been waiting to try KWC for a bit now. Both my wife and I liked our meals. Got large portions and filling sides, bread and dessert. The service was good. It has Wi-Fi but couldn't connect to it so they should get some TVs. I suggest you visit KWC about 90 minutes before it closes. It isn't too busy and you get more food for the same price. read more

This place was just awful do not come here. All the food looks and taste like it was made with an easy bake oven. Let's start with the mac and cheese god damn I never knew you could put yellow food coloring on to random noodles and call it mac and cheese, well I do now. The cheese looks like it was bought at the thrift store and it taste like baby food is rather eat some thing that's been on the floor. The pasta looks like brick and taste like one too. Had dinner there tonight. As the line was moving, a man in front of us asked for cucumber salad. The salad server gave him a serving and he complained that there wasn't enough in the bowl so she picked up more, reached across the glass, the man took the cukes out of the tongs himself. He added the food to the dish on his tray and had also grasped the serving end of the tongs as he took his cukes. The server put the tongs under under a faucet without turning on the water, returned to her spot and then allowed the same man to reach across the glass and drain the excess liquid back into the cucumber salad. The absolute worst lunch ever. Made McDonalds look like 4 star cuisine. I got the baked spaghetti. It tasted like someone dumped a pound of salt in it. The sautéed mushrooms taste like straight vinegar. The green beans were okay. The sweet tea was good. Overall what a waste of $11.19. I will never be back. read more

DO NOT EAT AT THIS DUMP. First let me say the restaurant itself is pretty nice. Clean except near our table. It looked like someone dropped some kind of food on the carpet and someone stepped in it and smeared it. It looked like there was an attempt to clean it up but would need to be shampooed eventually. Perhaps it's full of senior citizens because they can reminisce about there School days. You enter, you walk up to the food line, grab a tray, utensils and napkin and you begin. Start sliding your tray down the line and there are staff members waiting for your order. They slop it on a plate and hand it to you. Just like the Military. I passed on salad. Moved past the fish dishes. Ordered a few chicken fingers/tenders. Was never offered any dipping sauces. I spotted meat loaf ( one of my favs ) and ordered it. She asked me if I wanted Creole Spaghetti. WHAT?? I'm Italian...NO THANKS. She put a pretty large mass of meat on my plate and than covered it in onion and pepper red sauce. I wish I would have known she was going to do that. I than ordered a soda and off to a table my wife and I went. I took one bite of the chicken tenders and pushed the plate away. I attempted to eat my broccoli but it was cold. Not even the cheese sauce could melt. It turned into a cheese icing. The meat loaf tasted good until I got to the bottom totally burnt portion. I like a nice crust but this was so burnt it was bitter. I paid over 14 dollars for TOTAL CRAP. WILL NEVER RETURN TO K&W ANYWHERE. I was warned. It's a CAFETERIA not a restaurant. read more

Rarely go to K&W anymore but when I do I always, I mean always get the roast bed. Even if I say I'm going to try something different. Never happens. Wish it had happened today. Here's why, no variety, the amount you get for the money and the price. On variety, at one point they had a great selection, but no more. The same thing almost everyday. The amount you get is not worth the price, period, end of discussion. And the price, it's gotten so pricey thee I am convinced that they are soon going to start credit checks to get a plate of food. The Burlington location of K & W Cafeteria has good food. And, the food keeps this family returning. It does however need people who know their business. And, that part is a frustration 99% of the time we go there to eat. Husband and daughter ate there Monday night (Dec 21) and got food for the 2 / $15.99 special (entree, 2 veggies, dessert, bread, drink... each tray). The manager, who has modified our bill in the past was at the register and rang up the food at the non-special $5+ price. When asked why: "he had forgotten it was the day for the special." .... Really? Seriously? .... How many more people paid more than the special pricing? Then, the three of us went there Saturday evening (Dec 26) before returning home from shopping. I had phoned them earlier in the afternoon and asked if they were honoring the 2/$16 pricing. The person who answered the phone told me they did not know and would check. He came back to the phone in a few minutes and confirmed that they offered the special on Mondays and Saturdays. However, when we went there for dinner, even after I told the cashier that my husband and I had the special pricing meals and that the daughter had whatever she chose, and the cashier trying to hurry me along although the daughter was still selecting food, told me she had us and I could go on to our table. Husband looked at the receipt before leaving the register and the pricing needed adjustment. Why? Incompetent? Uninformed? Not doing their jobs well? Hoping people will simply pay more than required for their food? I expressed to the cashier when we paid for our food that coming there was a frustration for me.
