Should've steered clear of this one. Poor food. No service. Ambience is kind of cool but in a terrible way.

Great big parking lot and plenty of seating and a little patio. Looked like a good meet up lunch or workers eating while we were here. Great menu with so many choices and daily specials. Definitely something for everyone. My friend ordered an iced tea and they refilled happily. I went with the chicken gyro, which essentially is a Souvlaki. Grilled chicken , fresh veggies, tzatziki on a grilled pita. Lots of filling and I got the house made chips . They don't give a side with sandwiches, looks like they are all à la carte. $1.50 wasnt a bad price though. Loved my pita I would only suggest maybe they grill the onions and instead of fresh. Loved the chips as they were dry and not oily . Served with ranch. My friend ordered the walnut chicken salad sandwich. Then realized when she got it it's full of onions which she could not eat. She felt bad for having not asked when she ordered it. Our server was so nice to see if they could trade it out and they did with zero fuss. It making her feel bad. She opted for the cheese burger. Which she loved and came out looking great. Very fresh with all the trimmings in a nice big bun. She said she's definitely get that again. Pay at the counter and I was pleased it wasn't a lunch that cost more than $15. With tip. Great spot and shame on me for but coming here earlier! Definitely added to my lunch rotation.

The customer service was great. The staff checked on us throughout our meal and made sure we had everything we needed, which I always appreciate. I ordered the Salmon BLT (hold the bacon) on sourdough with a side of sweet potato fries, and oh my goodness it was so good! The portion size was very generous and definitely filling. The herbed mayo tied everything together perfectly it was *chef's kiss*! They also serve the sweet potato fries with a cinnamon butter for dipping, which was good. I also had a Caesar salad. It was exactly what you'd want from a Caesar salad fresh, flavorful, and another generous portion. If you're a fan of salmon and/or sandwiches, I definitely recommend giving this a try. Who knew a salmon sandwich could be this good? I'll definitely be back! There is parking off to the side though, it is very limited. Be prepared to parallel park !

On the host's recommendation we chose to go inside and sit at the bar. I had not been inside before as I usually opt for the outside seating so I was surprised to see that the interior was more roomy than I had imagined. Once we were seated, near the soothing water feature with a Koi pond, our waitress promptly took our drink orders and apologized for any inconvenience if we were waiting for table and service. Once we got our drinks they served us several orders of warm bread with several different butter choices. At that point, we ordered our main menu items. Service was prompt and went smoothly. We didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. The food was very good and there were no complaints from our group. I ordered Ahi Tuna salad. It was a large portion w the Tuna perched on top making an appetizing display. It was reasonably priced at $18, in my opinion, as it was a large salad and I wasn't able to eat the whole thing. Our group had a very pleasant, unrushed time at this restaurant and the host was always nearby and happy to answer questions and chat with us. This restaurant is one of the jewels of downtown 4th street. Stop in for a drink or a nice meal, you'll be glad you did.

They had a good mix of music and a television is available at the bar. Now for the really important stuff. The food was absolutely amazing! I tried the Moravian cookie-pecan crusted salmon with collard greens, zucchini. The meal was a nice size and tasted amazing. I ate every bite. For dessert, we tried the White chocolate-almond bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. I'm usually not a bread pudding kinda girl, but this was the exception. And then there was a hint of a sauce flavor. Positive takeaways: The mushroom was very crispy and it was a good portion size. But flavor-wise on the actual mushroom, really sub par. Felt like "just something to eat" not impressive at all. The Alfredo was thin and tasteless. The sauce had a HINT of onion and some citrus (I assume lemon?) but was otherwise comparable to water. And the same tasteless fried oyster mushroom on top. Truly disappointing. I know it's more expensive in food cost and labor, but they should consider using cashew milk for the sauce for a creamier consistency (closest to dairy) and some nutritional yeast for the cheese taste. And some seasoning in the mushroom batter smh. Just overall basic and I'm furious I spent $37.45 for this. Won't be returning to try anything else, sorry.

I didn't expect the restaurant to be busy on a weeknight, but I was obviously wrong as the parking lot was nearly full. We found a spot at the rear of the restaurant and made our way inside. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table near the fireplace. A quick glance around confirmed that the place was jumping, which is good news for any restaurant during the middle of the week. A good balance of menu options from salads, sandwiches, fish, steaks, etc. Expect to pay $20-30 per person and some entrees are ala carte. They appear to have a good selection of wine, beers and cocktails from the long list in the menu. I went with the lasagna; my wife had the fish and chips; and my colleague went with the Beast Burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selection. The temperature of my lasagna could have been a tad hotter, but it wasn't enough of an issue to send it back. I would order it again. Service was good throughout our visit, but I am deducting one star for the noise level. The high ceilings give the restaurant a beautiful lodge look and feel, but they make for a very loud dining experience. The sound level at times was more like a school cafeteria in my opinion. Perhaps a table on the side of the dining room would be quieter where nearby walls could help absorb some of the noise. Bottom line: not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner.

Here's what we thought: **Goat Cheese Butternut Squash Ravioli** Delicious but my Dad thought it was a little rich. The couple of bites I tried were excellent! This was his favorite out of the three meals we tried! **Prime Rib** I had to go all in and got the 12oz. It's the best prime rib I've had in years! They serve it with au jus and creamy horseradish. That creamy horseradish is exactly the way I like it, the au jus was a nice addition and the steak was cooked perfectly! I will definitely order again! This was my favorite out of the three entrees we tried. **Crispy Brussels Sprouts** We weren't as thrilled about these as everyone else. I thought they were dry and needed something more. Maybe they didn't add enough jam and/or balsamic this time? **Chorizo Potato Soup** Very nice! The sausage wasn't too overpowering and I like the creamy broth. Different than anything I've ever had but good.

There was a 20 min wait and we were starving after a long travel day and eager to get to campus so we ate at the mediocre crepes restaurant next door instead. When we picked her up a week later I was prepared with reservations. However, when we checked in they told us they don't take reservations so it must be for their sister restaurant (oops) and the wait was even longer this time. One of the hostesses mentioned there would be seating clearing at the bar within minutes, which was good enough for us. We sat down 3 minutes later and ordered a few minutes after that. My daughter went for a cheeseburger which she happily ate stating that the food at Wake was NOT good all week. My husband enjoyed his turkey club and packed the other half for his flight later that evening (lunch and dinner). I went with the crab cake appetizer, which I thought was just OK. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the sandwich so I probably should have gotten that instead, but didn't want to be tempted with the bread and fries. We were in and out within 30 minutes, which I appreciated since we had a drive to Chapel Hill ahead of us. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm guessing a favorite for those affiliated with the campus.

No other way to describe it. I also loved the fact they served it with warm and toasted bread pieces.....added another depth of flavor to the entire bite. Entire thing was filled with crab meat as well. I'm used moreso to the chunkier style of crab dip, if that makes any sense, but whatever they did to theirs passed my test. For our entrees, we both opted for burgers. I've been waiting something that isn't a smash burger for quite sometime. No disrespect to smash burgers, but I've been wanting a thick, hand patted burger and they delivered. I ordered the tavern burger with the medium cook and a side of fries. Burger cook was perfect. One thing I loved was that the actual patty had char marks on it & it added more flavor to it. Very juicy and flavorful. Their fries were solid too....crispy yet soft in the middle. My wife got their bacon jam burger with a well done cook and she raved about how juicy it was. The cook was to her preference as well. She wasn't too impressed with the pasta salad as a side, but she did get an order of sweet potato fries and they were great as well. Finished the evening with their carrot cake and key lime pie to go and they were both delicious. Their key lime may be the best I've had in this area. Our server Morgan was awesome as well. Very attentive and helpful with the menu suggestions and explaining the things she personally liked, along with what was popular with other patrons. Their setup is odd....not saying that in a bad way, but its an older building and the layout says that. We were seated very quickly. Again, Morgan was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. The ambiance was good....very apt for a date night. Didn't get the chance to check out any of the other dishes around, but everyone seemed pleased with the service and the food. Will be back again to try some of their other entrees.
