Had lunch there today.. paid $23 for what was supposed to be chicken fajitas.. got a plate of grilled onions with a tiny bit of chicken. Seriously I had to search to make sure there was meat in there. Sides included an about 1/16th cup cheese.. same lettuce. I understand times are hard.. but $23 for a plate of grilled onions seems kinda crazy. Too bad. Server was nice, restaurant was clean. Doubt we will be back. read more

We stopped at El Paraiso for dinner on a roadtrip to Salem. It is convenient to highway 5. The service is fantastic with just the right amount of attention. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo, Rice with chicken, which was delicious. Good portion size and reasonable prices. I highly recommend El Paraiso. read more

NASTY, OLD FOOD, COLD, TERRIBLE,WORST EVER. This is the worst meal I've ever had. Not only were there small portions, such as about 2 ounces of mushy, watered-down refried beans, but the enchiladas tasted like they were a couple of weeks old and cold, with a minimal amount of rice. By only eating a small amount of the meal, we had terrible indigestion two days after eating. None of the meals served to the rest of the family were any better. 3.5 stars is way too generous; if it were possible to leave a negative number, it would be negative 5 stars. Please save yourself from possible health problems and a gross eating experience. Don't even think about eating here. read more

Prices are okay I guess, but the food is not worth eating. For Mexican cuisine, it's actually pretty bland. It's a toss up if your order will be correct. February 28, 2025. My friend and I went here for dinner. He has a service dog. First we were given dirty looks when we walked in. Then we were given a booth closest to the door, which was fine. Th dog sat on the bench next to my friend. The owner (I assume) came by and demanded for the dog to go on the floor. Wasn't very nice about it at all. We understand that and the dog was moved to the floor. I was then giving him a few tortilla chips to keep him calm and staying under the table. I was told by the waitress to NOT to feed him. We were just about done, so we were fuming. I went to the cashier area and asked her why I could not feed him. We paid for the food, who cares who I feed to. She said she was just told to tell me that. I'm sure I'm no big deal to them, but we will never go there again. Pretty rude people there. read more

Food is ok. I have eaten here a few times and one time "before Covid", I ordered steak fajitas and 1 patron shot. Food was very tasty. Female server was kind. I brought in my service dog who by the way did not have her vest on. I was not questioned at the door. After a very pleasant lunch as me and my husband were walking out the gentleman working there walked us out and angrily said thank you for coming as he peeked out the door and pounded on the no pet policy except for service dogs. I called 5 minutes later he answered I asked to speak with the manager he said who is I said a customer. He then said did you have the dog I said yes. We were a bit scared because of the reviews but there are few options in Canyonville and we wanted dinner. They came immediately to pour water & take our drink order. They brought the standard chips & salsa- but there was a small dish of pico de gallo and another of a smoky salsa-both real good. Some chips seemed stale but others good-though my husband didn't think any were stale. We got a 16 oz. Margarita (they had sizes up to ones that looked like a bathtub!). Very strong! But good flavor. And the price was only $6.59. Good way to start! Hubby ordered chicken fajitas and I got Chile Rellenos. The fajitas looked very white so I thought meh-but they were caramelized underneath and very tasty. The chili rellenos were pretty good. I liked the fact they took the time to roast & remove skin on the chili (I hate it when restaurants leave skin on & you can't even cut it). And the sauce was light tomato sauce & tasty-even though it tastes sour on my first taste because of the cabbage salad sauce spreading out. The beans were a bit runny but had a good flavor-if light. The rice was ok too. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner & would come back again if we were in town. Our bill came to $32 with the margarita. Wanted to give a 3.5 but went up because of the drink & the price and the tequila was enough for 2 drinks! read more

This cute place was easy to find and had free parking. The interior was beautifully decorated in a very homey Mexican style. In our experience service was great. We were seated right away, our order was taken quickly, they were flexible with recommendations and our requests, my water and chips stayed full and our waitress was friendly. The menu was divided by type of food and by meat type. It covered the American mexican basics and was priced pretty average. I did notice they had two types of burgers in an american menu at the end. I wish they didn't include that and went more authentic. When you're sitting in that interior, it really makes you crave a pina colada and some authentic fish. The food itself was normal portions, and plated pretty average. The food was good, but not great. The mole sauce was nice. The chips and salsa and guacamole were great. My pina colada was a bit heavy handed and overall I felt like things were good, but I kept feeling like I was missing something. When 100% of the dining population is not wearing a mask and 100% of the serving population is wearing a mask you know there's something out of balance. When I pointed this out to the manager he reminded me that everyone has a right to choose whether or not to wear a mask. I completely agreed with him, but when I pressed him further by asking why none of his employees choose to NOT wear a mask he immediately walked away from the table and said that he did not wish to discuss it any further. Perhaps the worst part of this experience occurred when I went to pay the bill. I told him that I would no longer be patronizing his business. I also told him that in the past year I've spent over $1000 dining at his facility. He politely smiled and said no problem. Then, when I turned my back and began to walk out the door he said to me that I should not have shared with my daughter(Who I was dining with) this adult issue. I then told him that this was no business of his and he then compared it to the fact that it was no business of mine to comment on the mask wearing at his business. It does not take much intelligence to see there is no comparison to sharing a life lesson with your own child and speaking out against authoritarian control to decide whether or not to eat it at a restaurant. Therefore, I will never again eat at this restaurant! AND I encourage all people who read this to avoid this place based solely on their ridiculous behavior. My husband ordered the seafood chimichanga and said it was good. I ordered the Taco Salad with ground beef and it literally had maybe 5 bites of meat. My husband agreed it was the most pathetic taco salad he had ever seen. If you like lettuce then order it but you will get 90% lettuce 5% shell 3% beef 1% cheese and 1% tomato. Let me start off by saying the service was really super slow. We watched three other tables get their orders taken food delivered and checks received before our food even came. The food as far as the taste was very good I had the steak fajitas with flour tortillas and my wife had a combination of an enchilada and a chili relleno. My wife had a house Margarita and I had a Corona beer. The drinks came super fast which was a little disappointing because they were mostly gone by the time the meal came. I don't know what are waitresses problem was but we brought it to their attention and they just said your food is coming. The service here was absolutely terrible! As guest to Oregon we wanted a nice familiar meal but the place brings shame to Mexican food all over. There was a total of 2 hairs in our order and the staff and atmosphere was extremely awkward as we felt the terrible service happened because of our race. As a guest I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND to stop here. Salsa, and pico Gallo are brought to you when you sit down. What a huge let down, this place only stays open due to the high traffic generated from the casino, This allows the owners and staff to treat customers very poorly, The owner / manager and assorted wait staff are very Arrogant, Pretentious, smug and disdainful towards the patrons. The food is just barely average , when and if you actually get it. How hard is it to sling already heated beans , meat and cheese into a tortilla or taco shell and get it out to a long awaiting customer ? When others that come in 20 minutes after you are seated -order and get their food - and eat long before you get yours. Its just plain bad business. If they were competing in a normal market place with any competition and without a nearby Casino- they would never have succeeded this long. We will never go back and will be sure to tell everyone we know how bad of an experience we had there. read more
