I have had a great experience every time I've come here to see Krystal. The scheduling system is easy and I like how they sometimes give you options if they happen to have availability sooner. The atmosphere is super relaxed; I find myself falling asleep because of the comfy seats and warm blankets. It almost feels as if you're lying on a cloud lol. Krystal and Jenny are quick, friendly, gentle, and professional. I usually get hybrid lash extensions during the holidays or big events, and then lash lifts with tint for less eventful seasons. Booking is easy through the Square app. Sometimes Krystal will reach out to suggest alternative booking times, but if you don't want to change she still honors the original booking time without making you feel bad. I've been going to K Beauty for years now and have had experiences with both Jenny and Crystal - both are truly amazing. I ended up choosing Jenny more primarily because she's who I started with and we developed a more of a relationship over time. I think the biggest reason why I continued to go to her is because she cared about the integrity of my lashes. She often gave me feedback on how I can better clean and take care/have better longevity. She also pays attention to my length/lash health -- she won't do certain styles or lengths if she thinks my lash cannot hold so we often have a game plan every time. If we have an upcoming event, she will work on prioritizing lash health (going for a shorter look in between) so that when big glam days come up, we can rock more volume. I also don't have the easiest Physio - I awkwardly open my eyes when I sleep so I've had experiences being badly burned. She's found a way to work with me and she makes sure I don't caffeinate before lashes (it does help). I get fills regularly anywhere between 2-4 weeks so I am a regular and can attest to their work :) I do get lots of compliments always on my lashes and I have referred this practice to other people. I've been coming to Krystal for my lashes for almost a year now and I'm so glad I found an amazing lash artist closer to me. She is very professional and gave her honest advice rather than just doing whatever I asked for. For insight, at a different salon before her, I usually get 15mm wispies but always had really bad retention - my 2 week fills would look like 1+ month even with washing my lashes twice a day and brushing throughout the day. I got to the point where I just thought my eyes weren't compatible with lash extensions. Fast forward to when I met Krystal, she told me at my first appt that my lashes won't be able to handle anything longer than 14mm because of my lash structure and the wispie wouldn't be compatible. I went with her recommendation and have had such beautiful lashes with great retention! I even got wispie again in between fills because I really liked the style and thought maybe it'll work. But sure enough, by week 1, had started falling off so fast. I am so glad I trusted Krystal, my lashes look soo good and if I really wanted to, I can even go 3-4 weeks for a fill without having any bald spots. I've been a loyal customer of Krystal's at the Beauty Methods in San Jose during covid. I'm so sad she moved to Newark, but I stopped getting my lashes done since 2022 anyway because of increased social expenses and back to office minimizing my free time. I got my lashes done for the first time in a year for some festivals. I got hybrid wispy lashes done as usual (unfortunately forgot to take a picture close up and don't want to upload my festival pictures in case grandma sees). The salon is not as nice as Beauty Methods but I'm happy to be here knowing she gets more of my money, and she still has the reclining seat and heated blanket so it basically feels the same once you close your eyes. With these lashes I was able to sleep in and not do my makeup or worry about it getting ruined if I am dancing if crying. I had no idea that during this time she had a baby!! She doesn't look like it. I hope her and her sisters business pop off - the reviews are already giving. I will come back one day for my wedding lashes. read more

I needed a last minute bang trim as I am going out tonight. My usual stylist in this area wasn't available, and my go-to is in Sunnyvale and I didn't want to drive there today since I'm taking care of my uncle's house today, so I checked Yelp and found this salon. I called and scheduled a bang trim and arrived to my appointment. The lady that was there told me I should do a wash as my hair was oily, so I agreed. I've been staying with my boyfriend in San Jose for a week as we were doing multiple hikes and did not have my Brazilian Blowout shampoo and conditioner at his place that helps with the oiliness, and had to make do with what he had, so my hair ended up being oily as mentioned. I expected only a bang trim but ended up paying $65 in total as she did the whole haircut process. Of course, I can't stop her mid-cut to say I don't want the whole haircut because then my hair would be uneven. There was miscommunication I guess. I appreciate them accommodating me last minute, but what I did not appreciate was how because the stylist ended up doing additional things for me, she told another client that I (the client) "took too long". Whoah, I didn't really ask for the whole hair cutting process in the first place, and was shocked by how much I had to pay in the end. I did tip as I usually do, but could not fathom how I was to blame for taking "too long" when I only requested my bangs be trimmed. If she couldn't have finished it in time for her next client, then she should not have done additional things. I've had stylists that have only wet my bangs and face framing layers to do a trim and delivered what I want, but I trusted her as she had initially seemed friendly. The bangs do look great, but truly didn't appreciate being finessed and wish the communication was better, and the passive aggressive comment at the end was shocking. read more

Their lash work is so similar which makes it easier for me to schedule with whomever is available for the time slot I need. I am beyond disappointed with K Beauty!! Last week, I scheduled myself for 2 week fill as I noticed an appointment available online with Krystal. My lashes seemed to be falling off a lot more than usual so at this point I wanted to be seen asap. Same day I scheduled, Jenny contacted me to let me know Krystal is out of town. This did not reflect availability online, however I understand if schedule was not closed as we are human. Jenny then offered me appointment for today at 4:30 (since Krystal is still out of town) and I gladly accepted & confirmed appointment with a text reply. Unfortunately my phone shut down last Sunday & I am currently phone-less for the next few weeks. During this time of being unreachable, apparently I was asked to confirm appointment through text, and per Jenny, she attempted to contact me to confirm my appointment. I arrive to my appointment as I had clearly confirmed appointment through text last week, however, upon arrival, Jenny informs me she cannot see me and I need to re-schedule for a different day. Not a care in the world that I just drove an hour from work, rushing to get there and even had to find a sitter for my daughter. I have been a loyal client for the past couple of years and never no-showed to an appointment. If I personally didn't call to cancel my appointment or happen to die in the last week I am certainly showing up to my appointment as I do respect people's time. I am angry as I explain she had no right to cancel my appointment. Jenny then raises her voice saying it's not her fault and attempts to justify canceling my appointment by trying to put the fault on me for being unreachable. As I mentioned, I confirmed appointment through text last week when we scheduled, that should suffice! My sister and I have both been loyal clients at K Beauty and have recommended clients to Krystal, as I do personally like her lash work. The scheduling system definitely needs improvement as it has ALWAYS been a problem. For the first year going to K Beauty, my sister and I would get a text same day of appointment, asking if we can come in at a different time. Of course if it's feasible I will accept offered time, but we do work and have kids, therefore we schedule based on our availability. That just doesn't seem to be considered for clients here. This did improve the past year so I continued to see Krystal hoping no more scheduling issues would arise, but today really took me out. Jenny even asked me to communicate from my sister's phone since my phone does not work. My sister and I do not live together and if she was well aware of how to reach my sister, why didn't she text or call her to check if I would still be making it to my appointment? How convenient. My lashes are now hanging by a thread and I have no other choice but to get a new set by the time I can get an appointment. I will have to seek for a different lash tech at this point. read more
