They really impressed me by saying I DIDN'T need an expensive engine repair that they could have easily talked me into. It's something you'd normally get fixed, but this is an older vehicle that doesn't get much use so they told me to save my money since it wasn't a safety issue, it wouldn't cause a cascade of other problems, and I could fix it for the same cost later if the problem got worse. So far, they've saved me $1000.

2.5 years ago we had an alternator failing in our Honda Odyssey. Sager & Sons had replaced this…read moretwice for us already. Both times it failed relatively quickly. We paid for the replacement the first time. The second time they replaced the alternator for free since it failed so quickly. Then the alternator failed very quickly a second time and probably should have been covered once again. They claimed the alternator was fine and it was actually the starter. Luckily my husband had plenty of experience repairing these parts in his past. He knew it was the alternator. But this company insisted it was the starter. Then they followed up claiming the van needed a new engine and quoted us over 10k! After several conversations they would not admit the alternator needed replaced. Then they said if we replaced the engine the alternator would be fixed. I still to this day do not understand how an "experienced" mechanic could be so wrong unless they were not begin honest. I can only guess they did not want to honor the warranty on the alternator for the second time. Although, the conversation never got to that point because he kept pointing to the starter. I would have paid for it because I just wanted to get the van fixed. We took the van to a different mechanic and confirmed everything we knew to be true. I waited 2.5 years to write this review just to confirm even further that the starter and engine itself were fine. Still no problems with the starter or engine. Any experienced mechanic should know better. It is a very basic diagnosis. We did have 3 or 4 positive experiences with Sager N Sons before this. I can only guess this was a deliberate misdirection to avoid warranting his failed alternator. I am so thankful my husband knew enough about cars to save us from wasting a lot of money! I don't remember the exact quote but an engine replacement would have cost 10k plus. I do not take pleasure in writing this review. I am writing this review to save someone else from being taken advantage of. Be very careful with this company. If something doesn't seem right make sure to get a second opinion.

However, they could not see any evidence of bending. I contacted BK Industries to purchase the parts, and they asked me to bring the car in for a second opinion. They immediately made room in the shop for my car, and after about 15 minutes, they told me that my problem was due to a single eccentric washer being stripped, and that they would fix it for free. Half an hour after I arrived with no advance appointment, I walked out with a perfectly functional car at no cost to me. I also had them place one of their trademark window stickers on my car so people can see it when I pass them. BK Industries Rocks!

Bob is the most honest mechanic there is out there…read more Bob has reasonable prices, he will tell you what's needed what's not needed. He'll explain everything he did and why he did it. He is fairly timely. I've been going to him for the last 3 years and he is the only person I will go to, even if I just have a question i'll always ask bob and he explains it. If you take your car in and nothings wrong he will tell you honestly that there's nothing wrong and not charge a penny.
