I came here for the first time on a Friday night. There was a decent amount of people waiting to race, but it wasn't packed. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I went up to the man working on the track to see if we were going to be racing anytime soon. I believe his name was Matt, he did an amazing job clarifying when we were going to be on the track, after bringing our group inside the course, he then went over the rules and made sure our group felt very comfortable before getting into the carts. He was very friendly and went out of his way to help our groups special requests. The racing was fun, but the 14 laps goes quick. Our visit started confusing and frustrating but we ended up walking out having a great time!!! read more

This is probably the most fun I've had in a while! Parking wasn't bad , I found one right away . The atmosphere of the place was energetic. The girl in the front right away attended us , her name was Bianca, she was very welcoming , friendly and helpful .She explained everything thoroughly to us, since we were first timers there ! We did wait about 20 minutes or so until we were called to race but we decided to get a snack while we waited and the girl who took our order was very outgoing and friendly , her name was Johanna! The food didn't take much to come out ,which was sweet ! We were then called right after to the race track, we couldn't figure out how to put on our head gear/wrap and a worker was walking by , Julie, super friendly and cool , helped us put it on ! and the guy working the track, his name I believe was Angel? He explained what each flag meant and what not to and to do, it was so much fun ! WHAT A THRILL ! Definitely something I will recommend young adults and adults to try if you're ever feeling a rush . Looking forward to coming back ! And again thank you to all the staff for making this an incredible experience!!! read more

Super fun thrill, they change up the track layouts every so often to keep people challenged. Try to make it as friendly to advanced racers as they are to beginning racers (flags to let slower drivers know they need to let someone pass). The turns are challenging, but not overboard to where they are ever dangerous to me. The track layouts also seemed tailored to match the speed of the carts, just right so that it's difficult but not impossible. A little more expensive than the open lot local racing tracks, but well worth the quality. read more

K1 Speed is always awesome regardless of what track you get, I just wish they were bigger

This was my second time. Not what I experienced my first time I was here years ago, when I found it to be a lot of fun and way more easy-going. The kids who work here now are not friendly. They are rude and not welcoming. I was surprised to see they had so many rules now, but yet they do not coach you on the new rules in advance. They expect you to read the wall signs on your own and then scream at you when you don't know what a yellow flag means. It's extremely off-putting and astonishing considering they should be clear in the rules before you start. No one ever mentioned flag colors to us before we started. They also did not mention that you are not allowed at all to bump into the walls. I was here About 10 years ago. At that time, it was more acceptable to be like bumper cars and to bump into one another. If you hit the wall back then, no one said anything. I vividly remember bumping into one another and spinning out and laughing about it....not anymore...Now, there are referees and watchers standing around the track with flags, and they are flagging you at every moment. Totally different experience than when I was first a customer 10 years ago. Needless to say, I got my hands slapped, and I did not like it, because I was not aware of these new "rules". I would've been OK with the new rules of present day... Had I known them in advance. I spoke to someone who works here afterwards and he said that they changed things Bc people have been hurt in recent years. Concussions. Lost fingers. Ok I totally empathize and get that, and rules need to be changed....but if you've changed the rules...educate people better and more thoroughly when they come in!!! read more

One of the worst experiences I had. First time go-karting (which wasn't too bad) but the customer service/communication was HORRIBLE. Came in on Saturday having had pre purchased passes (license + 1 race). Expecting to wait, I asked the cashier how long the wait would be (and just come back later). I was pleased to hear that the wait was only 15 min. So everyone in the group (3) created a required account to drive (which required address, phone number, and email address... not pleased with that). We then proceed to the line (~10min) to register for a race (and pay). Only to find out that one of our (3) registrations did not go though. We were told we had that we could not be helped until everyone had registered. So we re registered the one member of the group. and got in line again which has now grown pretty significantly. (only 1 poor sales associate was working the register, the (what looked like was the manager was on the phone not helping). Finally when my group made it 1/2 through the line ~10 min in now. the manger opens up a second register, helping some people. Thinking that the manager was helping reduce the line wait, we moved over to that line, only to find out that he was only registering for a party that had reservations and that the wait would now be 2 hours! We were obviously disappointed, when we heard that, and when we told the associate that another member had told us 15 min wait. He said it was b/c party got moved or showed up and that it was too bad.... well fine.. back to our original plan. we got back into the regular line for the THIRD time now. As we got up to the cashier (~25 min wait), the manger comes by and tells everyone in line about a 2 hour wait. We registered our race and used our pre paid passes... Now this cashier's (the original one told us it was about an hour long wait... We were confused... so we clarified is the wait 15 min? 2 hours? 1 hour? and we were told 40 min when we clarified... Well that scrapped any plans we had about waiting else where. We then spoke to the associates getting people on and off the track, what happens if we are late... he just said he could put us in the next race... and it would only be 15 min...? Still confused, we decided to just wait and get out of this confused place. We waited about 30 min. Did our race and left... If I do another go-karting experience... it would not be here. We got in at 3:30 PM. Left at 5 PM, most of the time confused and in line. read more

One stars seems like too many for the staff at K1 Irvine. I called ahead for my sons 9th birthday and brought one of his friends with us. I had two boys who were so excited to race. We arrive only to find there is a special event going on that was never mentioned when I called. The staff up front could not have been more rude about the entire situation. The place was empty and the party scheduled had not even arrived yet. When I explained our situation I got a "lovely" EYE ROLL from the girls up front. I believe one of them was named DAISY. Then the "manager" JASON walked over and wow.... Who puts people like this in charge of dealing with customers? I had two boys so excited to race. I had tried to call ahead. I know nothing about this racing stuff. My son loved to do this with his late father and it was crushing to me that I had been misinformed and then treated so rudely. What an awful experience. I would travel miles to avoid this location at all cost. Uninformed, completely rude and disrespectful. read more

I just went to k1 speed 1/27/18 for probably the 20th time. The host was extremely rude. She informed me that I was not smart for coming on a Saturday night and my wait time would be 50 mins. (Which I was willing to do) wait sorry SIR your wait is now 60 mins and and I can't guarantee you'll get a race at 10:20 when they close at 12. That math didn't add up to me either. So basically the host just rudely ushered us out at 1020. read more

What a joke. I had no idea the management controls your speed before we went. You're at the mercy of the staff, who enjoying manipulating your speed and slowing you on the sidelines. You're not really allowed to race! What's the point! Reminds me of the kiddies ride at Disneyland. Boring and a waste of money. Also, large groups have priority, so you can get delayed into a long wait. Don't get sucked into the hype. The staff are rude and indifferent. Expensive. The helmets are nasty and stink. read more

The races are good but the management sucked. One of the tracks two tracks closed which they didn't tell us when we called an hour before. We bought three races. After the first one the party came and we waited for 40 minutes until we talked to management and they explained that there was a birthday party happening and that our next race would be in 1.5 hours. We have been to K1 one time for my sons birthday party this year. The experience was fantastic. Today we came back and my son brought a friend to race with. Unfortunately the experience we had today wasn't as stellar as the first time. We purchased 2 races for both boys. $75. The first race my sons car was not charged. It was so slow he was barely moving and the track attendants clearly observed this and did nothing. After the race I asked what happened and the attendant said if your child's car is slow the child needs to raise their hand and they will stop the race and get a new car. The attendant seamed annoyed with my question which I politely asked and thought was reasonable? I spoke with the manger who was very accommodating and credited my sons account for 1 race. The manager also stated the information giving to me by the track attendant about raising your hand if your car is to slow was incorrect. The second race my son had a normal car. The other racers were "rowdy" bumping and causing accidents. My son was involved in a 3 car "mini crash". The cars stopped and my son was singled out by the attendant and told if he bumped another car he would be removed from the track. I understand safety first but this was not warranted for. 9 year old. The track attendants are not friendly. They have an attitude and a bored sour look on their faces. They need to learn basic customer service. As I was leaving I almost spoke with manager again but I had such bad experience we will not return. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars for their customer service. We waited 3 hours and come to find out we weren't even in the system to race because the cashier, Sherena Williams, failed to put us on . They offered us a free race but would have to wait another hour and a half to get on the track. The manager was involved only to refund our money. We wasted 3 hours here and received nothing in return for the inconvenience. I will definitely be writing a letter to their corporate office regarding this manner and how horrible the manager, Aubrey King handled the manner. read more

I just wanted to let you know that I was really disappointed at your staff as well as your facility. I brought my kids to have a fun day and I got attitude and lack of knowledge from your staff and was really disappointed in the race that was run. First your membership fee is a joke, use of the helmet what person or company would just supply the SAFETY equipment, just another way to stick it to the guests. Your special rates PER PERSON why? I would of spent twice as much if I could of bought the package of 8 and disbursed them with in my kids. And last, your website and staff both say 14 Lap Standard Adult Race or 12 Lap Standard Junior Race. However that WASN'T TRUE AT ALL!! I paid the same price for each child and one kid got only 9 laps! I see now how you make you money. You might want to tell your new customers that if you race with others it's the FIRST PERSON WHO HITS 14 LAPS FIRST! Not that each driver gets to run 14 laps. Well thank you for making my decision to NEVER EVER go back. read more

So I literally just left the k1 speed and experienced the absolute worst customer service ever. My fiancé and I when checking in asked if it was possible to try on a helmet before completing the check in because of the hairstyle I was wearing, I wanted to be sure the helmet would fit. No problem there. The young lady helping us was nice and understanding. The problem didn't begin until we walked over to where the helmets were and 3 of the workers just stood there looking at us. We stood there looking lost for about 5 to 10 minutes when another group walked up next to us and was quickly approached by 1 of the workers. Meanwhile we're still standing there and the other workers made no attempt to help us. Feeling extremely disappointed with the service my fiancé and I simply walked out. (If I didn't have to give a star I wouldn't, very unhappy) not to mention it's my birthday and I really wanted to go go kart riding. read more

Horrible service! They made me pay for a license when I bought one last month. They slow you down for more than half the race. The course is really short and lasts like 5 minutes. The line is really long beacuse the people up front dont know what their doing. Would recommend Anaheim if you really want to have fun. read more

This place is pretty cool, being that it is the only go-kart place around the UCI campus. A lot of prefer D-1 in Anaheim, but these carts do seem a little quicker. The deal during the afternoon is pretty cool as well, i think its like $12 or something? im not sure...but overall its a cool place to come especially when your on a budget. the skyline in there is pretty cool too! hahaha read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We were treated horribly and it just ruined our day. We came to the Ansheim location on a Saturday morning with my son, daughter & husband. It was my son's birthday & he was really looking forward to doing this. We brought a coupon that said 2 for $30.00. We thought that was a little high for what you get, but it was a Birthday event, so thought ok, we'll do it. When we presented the coupon, we were told it had to be used by the same person for two races. My husband wasn't happy about this, so the cashier told him he could split it between 2 people. So he told them to add one more for $15. We were told it would bd $20 for an additional person. Plus another $6.00 for a "license" per person, which included a free helmet. My husband said no need for the license, but we'd take the free helmet. The clerk said you can't have the free helmet without paying the $6.00. He said to her "then it's not free", which she agreed did not make sense. So, the cashier rings us up & the total comes out to $108.00 for three people for an 8 minute race (w/ a coupon)!!!!! When my husband looked over the receipt, he realized he was charged the coupon price X 3 with the charge for three "free helmet/licenses" as well. This place really gets you in with what seems like a good deal & then discloses the additional fees. We were told by the cashier that we could be refunded for the races we didn't use, but when my husband spoke with the manager, he said "we can't refund a full half of the second race (half the coupon - $15 x 3 races), because the first race is more expensive than the second race, so we can only refund $10(x3) instead". Each race would have been identical, but when you want a refund, then they are not willing to pay a fair amount. We received a partial refund, but not what we were promised. If you are ready to empty your wallet for a few minutes of fun, go ahead - we won't be back & we won't be recommending it to our friends &the familes in our network. I am a preschool teacher in Anaheim Hills and it distresses me when we see local businesses that "bait and switch". Shame on them for, if not being dishonest, at least being very misleading. I guess they aren't worried about making first time customers happy, or even concerned that a birthday event for a 10 year old's wish is pre-empted by their inflexible need to make a buck! read more

I was very disappointed by the service we received today. My family went for my brother's birthday and we bought 2 games each because we were assured by the employee that we could get 2 games done in one hour. We had a time crunch, but this would work for us. The employee told us we could just check in for our second race after we finished the first. After our first race, we went back to the desk but there was a long line of people who still had to register and pay. It seems obvious that people who have already paid should have a separate line (or maybe even just a kiosk to check in at) or should be signed up for the 2 races at the beginning. Instead, we had to wait 30 minutes in the line just to talk to the employee, who told us it would be another hour wait for a second game. Since this did not fit in out time limits, we weren't able to race in the second race which we had ALREADY PAID FOR and they refused to give us a refund. This trip ended up being not only disappointing, but a waste of money as well. I am extremely unhappy with this experience. read more

I can't believe how bad this location is. The manager in charge needs to be retrained along with every employee. I was crashed into so hard that I could not continue my race due to injury. I hit my head on the roll hoop and pinched a nerve in my neck which continues to be a daily problem after more than 1 month. The staff did nothing to the offending driver and would not refund my money. I've been going to K1 for 4+ years and "racing" gas and electric go karts for 10+ years and this is the worst I've ever seen things. I want a refund because I will never go back if this is how they operate their business. read more

Go Karting in general is a good activity if you want to do something different and K-1 definitely takes it to another level. The racing is exhilarating and a fun event to do with a group of friends. Not sure if it's just this location though but the way the process works is not smooth. First you have to go check in at the computer, then fall back in line to actually pay, etc., which was confusing being a first timer because there are no signs that tell you what you need to do first so we almost went through the whole line before we realized we were supposed to go to the computers first (the computer and lines are right next to each other). If you're doing multiple races, you have to come back to the same line to sign up for your next race. You would think that there would be a separate location to actually check in for your next race and not have to wait in the same line where people who are just coming in line up. I would still come back though and bring other friends who've never done it. read more
