After a long weekend of traveling, pho is my go to comfort food! This place was recommended to me by the locals and it seems like a well loved regular spot for those in the area. My first impression is that this restaurant is pretty solid. They pho was hot and light with a good amount of noodles. I ordered the pho tai (rare steak) with a lychee lemonade. The pho tai hit the spot and was pretty standard. The lychee lemonade really satisfied my craving for a sweet treat. However, it was $5.25 which I felt was a bit pricey - the Thai tea was only $4.75. The service was quick and reliable. There are many tables inside which makes me believe it gets busy at times. I went during dinner on a Monday and there were quite a few filled tables. The inside is simple and clean. It had a sort of night life vibe to it as well. Lots of parking as it is in a plaza and they have bathrooms!

This has been a go to on the way home for years. As our mother-in-law has been in a facility down the street for the past couple of weeks, we've had a lot more stops by K-5. Their pho is good. I haven't been in the mood for soy in this latest group of trips, but I do recommend the vegetable and the chicken. We don't eat red meat. My partner likes the shrimp spring rolls. I like the egg ban mhi. K-5 has smoothies, and I can never resist an avocado smoothie with boba. Yum. They are great. I ordered pad Thai, just because it's been a rough week, and that's the only thing my partner will order when we go for Thai. I appreciate going with friends so that we can try other dishes. Another story. Anyway, I may have created a monster. We are having our third K-5 pad Thai, this week. No leftovers. EverThe flavor is really intense compared to most pad Thai's we've had. So it's really good for our admittedly dominant culture palate. I ordered some veggie fried rice today, just to add a little variety. I have a feeling K-5 is going to be more regularly in our rotation from now on.

Super good food, loved the pork egg rolls wrapped in lettuce. Tried the beef ball pho and it was really good! Will come back to try other things.

K5 has been my family's go to spot whenever we crave pho. Their rice dishes are superb as well.

This is a great Vietnamese restaurant located in the Figueroa Plaza (Colorado Blvd and Figueroa St). The restaurant has a large capacity with a bar area, flat screen TV on the right wall. It was difficult to take pictures that captured the atmosphere of the restaurant (i.e. better in person). I've only been here twice and this time, I ordered to go. Nonetheless, the charbroiled tofu sandwich is one of the most flavorful vegan banh mi sandwiches I've had. The tofu is a great combination of crispy, chewy, and soft. It has great flavor too. The bread is soft and fluffy. The lemon grass tofu was also very satisfying, the richer tofu being well-offset by the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Overall, a solid Vietnamese restaurant with friendly staff, many vegetarian/vegan options, plenty of seating, and easy parking.

Whenever I'm in need for some wholesome good food and soup this place is definitely my favorite. My order is almost always the same I order the #1 house special regular bowl. With a side of there amazing fried egg rolls. Super good . The ambiance is always chill but I prefer coming in during dinner time when it's a bit more lively and full house.

Casual dining. I like their combo pho! I usually ask for extra onions on the side. Quick and friendly service. Large menu. Free parking in the shared lot.

Tried K5 Pho and Rolls and really enjoyed it. Service was fast, which is always a plus. The pho tái was flavorful and comforting, and the pork chop with rice was the standout for me--juicy, well-seasoned, and very satisfying. Simple menu, solid execution. Definitely a good spot when you're craving Vietnamese food without the long wait. 4 stars for portion size for the price

I went here at night time for dine in. It was packed so tons of customers were eating dinner. We got seated after 10 minutes or so. The waitress was helpful since she brought up the spice level for my dad's order. The waitress asked if I wanted a regular or large and I said regular which was considerate of her. I ordered the rare steak and beef ball pho. Food was brought out quickly. It was cooked to perfection, the soup wasn't boiling hot so I didn't burn my tongue having it. I liked the portion sizes, it wasn't too much nor too little. Steak was rare so it had pink in it and I loved how tender it was. We ordered pork egg rolls too but I didn't take a photo. The batter that was used was perfect, it was so crunchy. The egg rolls were savory and delicious, better than other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. It took a bit to get the attention of someone after we finished eating. Ambiance was nice because it was clean inside and not too bright.

My go-to spot for pho when in Eagle Rock. It gets the job done. Great tasting broth and fresh ingredients every time. Everything from the pho to the rice plates and appetizers have all been flavorful. If you need your Vietnamese food fix and can't go out to SGV, this place will suffice. Give this place a try.

I came here with my family. They have at least three vegan options on the menu. The boss was very attentive after finding out I have a lot of food allergies. I ordered the vegetarian pho and the tofu spring rolls. My family ordered different phos and rice dishes. They thought the food was good. My girlfriend got the pho meat on the side and put in her meat in herself. They got one male and one female restroom. Veggie pho and tofu spring rolls were the same price as the meat dishes even though veggies are cheaper. Took out one star for that. This restaurant is located in a large parking lot but it's in the same plaza as the market. The restaurant was full on a Saturday afternoon. Loud but that's normal for popular restaurants.

First and foremost, upon coming in we noticed the ambiance was nice and had a very modern look to it. Service was excellent, the servers are very attentive. Food was great, we ordered appetizers which was a refreshing start to our dinner and following that our mains came out which were shaken beef and roti chicken. Both were exceptional, beef was tender and chicken was crispy. Tasty dishes for sure. Would highly recommend this place and come back again !

It's a typical sized place for a restaurant on First St. (I.e. small & narrow). They do make use of every space though. Parking is...Little Tokyo...sigh. IF you're lucky enough to get street parking, go buy a lotto ticket on your way home. Parking structures near by. We shared: Agedashi eggplant: Japanese eggplant beautifully "fan" sliced. Dashi was VERY good. Generous amount of grated daikon. Assort. Tempura: Saw this being served while waiting. Looked really good and it WAS! Large shiitake mushroom. Fan cut Japanese eggplant, kabocha pumpkin, shrimp tempura & two (2) shiso leaves. All VERY crisp not oily. Warm dashi side had deep umami rich flavor. Probably made the legit kombu & bonita flake method. #1 ordered the Miso carbonara: garlicky carbonara served with their signature house-rolled out udon. Wonderful dish. Portion sizes were adequate. #2 ordered the Uni carbonara: same garlicky carbonara with uni bits strewn about. Estimating one whole uni broken. This actually works for ease of eating. Plus, uni ranges in the $18/oz on the low end to $60 or more/oz on the higher end. Yes we love & appreciate their gonads. Udon noodles were chewy, bouncy & worth the wait. Yeah yeah....the dough is purchased. Not house made. But, seriously you've seen the YouTube videos of restaurants specializing in Japan? Yes there are places in LA who make their dough & roll it out. It's Hella lot of work! Yamachan produces large scale udon/ramen in San Jose. It's fine. Let them work out the dough to water ratio. Also portion size was decent since we shared a couple apps. Might want to consider the option of extra noodles. The table to our right full of younger male co-workers were there to socialize. They probably all grabbed an afternoon snack. The ceilings are pretty high and there is a decent amount of seating. Half of the tables were probably taken around this time and there were a few TVs on playing a live FIFA World Cup game which people were watching. I decided to order the 3 of us: 1. Kalguksu, 17, bibim nengmyun, and 25. Beef bulgogi. Everything was out pretty quickly and everything was delicious. The beef bulgogi was good but nothing too special. Sweet and savory with plenty of onions and served on a hot plate. My dad has been to Korea more than a dozen times and says that this bulgogi isn't close to as good as he's had, but that the noodles were very good. He says this bulgogi could be more Smokey, with a grilled flavor. I've probably had better bulgogi around as well so probably wouldn't come just for it, but it was nice to have a dish with rice in addition to the 2 noodle dishes. The kalguksu was my favorite. Very savory and the broth was so good. The other 2 dishes came with little bowls of extra broth as well. Inside the kalguksu was 3 dumplings (yum), some well seasoned ground meat (yum), and very good al dente noodles (yum). The spicy cold noodles were also good. I typically prefer the cold noodles that come in the slushy broth but my boyfriend prefers this spicy one! It had fresh veggies, a slice of Korean pear, an egg, and a lot of delicious sauce that ended up not being too spicy. The red kimchi was more spicy than the noodles! You order at the counter before finding a table, which made everything feel efficient and relaxed. We ordered the pork belly bun, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, pan-fried pork buns, beef noodle soup, and Hakka mochi. The MVP of the meal was undoubtedly the Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It was honestly better than many versions I've had in Taiwan, and I've had plenty. The chicken was crispy and crunchy without being greasy, and the meat stayed juicy rather than drying out. If you come here, order this. The pork belly bun was my personal favorite. The braised pork belly practically melted in my mouth, and everything was seasoned beautifully. Simple, balanced, and incredibly satisfying. The pan-fried pork buns were the only disappointment. The filling felt underseasoned, and the bottoms lacked the crispy crust I was hoping for. They were fine, but not something I would order again. The beef noodle soup was solid. The broth was excellent, with a depth of flavor and spice profile that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the beef shank was overcooked and a bit too dry (乾) for my liking. For dessert, we had the Hakka mochi. It was served warm, pleasantly chewy, and not overly sweet. It was a nice way to end the meal and made me curious to try some of their other desserts next time. This was overall a fantastic meal. It was really sugary but that pudding mixed in with the fruit and boba like flavor just hit the spot. It gave me brown sugar boba which basically means it was a brown sugar syrup haha.
