Ambiance: Very clean and has a mix of booth style and regular chair seating. Service is fast and staff is knowledgeable Food: we got the Samosas, butter chicken, Garlic Naan and chicken dum biryani hot - hyderabadi. Samosas were hands down one of the best I had..highly recommend it. Butter chicken we got the spicy version, it lacked flavors and the quantity was barely enough for one order of garlic naan. Garlic naan was dry and could definitely use more butter. Chicken biryani was decent, it smelled of turmeric but the taste was good. This is not at all like the hyderabadi biryanis I had in Hyderabad. Parking: there is ample shared parking in the plaza

Amazing food! I couldn't even snap a picture of the appetizer as we consumed it so fast! This is a down to earth family restaurant. The food is out of this world good and the service was great!

I've been on a curry kick lately so I turned to Yelp to make sure I found the best Indian food in the Burgh. Well, here it is! I ordered takeout, super easy via their website. Prices are super fair for how much food you get. Everything was packaged really nicely (though I would've loved some labels) and the service was fast and friendly. I decided on the chicken briyani as my entree. It was huge and filling. I loved the chicken, I just wish I would've realized there were some pieces of anise inside so I could've asked to have those excluded. I got an appetizer with potatoes, tomatoes, and chickpeas. Oh. My. Heavens. It was to die for! I will go back simply to get this again and again. I also got one of their Indian sodas, so refreshing and definitely complimented the food.

Been here several times now and dinner service definitely isn't their strong suit... I say that because the times I've been during dinner, they seem to only have one server working the dining room, while the owner just hangs out behind the counter playing on his phone. It's tough for me, because I value service as much as the food, but I will say that they do an excellent job with their food! I'm Pakistani, so I prefer Pakistani food over Indian food and this place definitely fits the bill! The depth of flavor is present, so is the menu and all the items they have on it! Their roti is on point, Karahi is nicely done, palack has a great texture and flavor too. Only issue with their food is their watered-down yogurt mint chutney, which really should be thicker. I'll still give them 4 stars; even though their service is worth 2 stars, the food is worth 6 stars!

Tried Kabab & Curry for the first time this past Saturday. I ordered ahead and when I arrived they had signs all over the door asking for customers to be patient as they were short staffed. Patient I was and it was worth it. We ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala Pizza, Aloo Muttar, Chana Saag, Tandoori Naan and Ghobi Paratha. Everything transferred very well to home and was reasonably priced. You may be thinking that is a lot of food for 2 people and it was. We really just wanted to try several items off the menu. We ordered them all mild spice. I wasn't a big fan of the pizza but I will tell you the other items were VERY good. My favorite being the Aloo Muttar. Second favorite was the ghobi paratha- be careful with this one because there is a kick to it! I was glad that I ventured out to try Kabab & Curry and will add it into our Indian food rotation!

This is my new go-to Indian/Pakistani restaurant!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Firstly, this is a family-owned restaurant & all of the recipes are their own. The family's Mom tries every batch of meat that is cooked to ensure it it's quality. Secondly, the menu is huge & there are SO many options. We tried many dishes that I had never had before! 1. Mango Lassi: this mango yogurt smoothie was amazing. The texture was perfectly creamy & thick. We got one to-go too for a sweet treat for later! 2. Samosa Chaat: this was basically a deconstructed vegetable samosa with tamarind and yogurt chutneys. OMG! I never thought to order something like this. It was so good. A tiny bit of spice (1-2/5 level). The pieces of pastry in it stay crispy & didn't turn into mush. The dish is served hot but some of the yogurt chutneys were cold so it was definitely a lot of taste experiences at once haha! Absolutely delicious. 3. Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza: Yep, you read that right. I think this is pizza is better than a lot of regular pizza places haha! It's an Italian pizza crust with their own masala sauce, topped with chicken tikka & cheese. I couldn't stop eating this! No spice to it (which I like). The sauce is delicious and creamy. It's my two favorite foods (pizza & Indian) combined into something heavenly! 4. Lamb Korma: I was a little nervous to try this because I'm hesitant about lamb but wow, I'm so glad we tried this. The lamb was cooked to perfection - tender, falling apart. The flavor of this dish is incredible. We got naan bread to eat with this. One of my new favorite dishes! 5. Naan bread: So delicious! Crispy on the outside & light & fluffy on the inside. The perfect side 6. Pink Kashmiri Chai: this was so different but so yum! The color is awesome it has a subtle sweetness but honestly it was almost like a palate cleanser. This drink is served hot & has pistachios and almonds as a topping. 7. Gulab Jamba: Yum!!! These little fried dough balls are soaked in a cardamom flavored sugar syrup & omg, so good. Light & fluffy, golden brown, and the taste is perfection. 8. Suji ka Hawla: I didn't absolutely love this but I'm so glad I tried it. I think I went into it expecting it to be sweet but there was minimal sweetness. It has a good consistency to it & by all means, was still good, just not for me! Overall, this is seriously my new favorite place. I can't wait to go back!!!

You know it's good when a North Hills person is willing to cross Pittsburgh bridges & go through tunnels! I'm talking about the amazing North Indian-Pakistani food at Kabab and Curry !! This is a family run restaurant offering their own family recipes, prepared with authentic cooking styles. You can taste the culture, love & pride in every flavorful dish. The spread: Chicken Malai Masala Pizza (Makhani masala sauce, marinated chicken malai, mozzarella and provolone cheese, with cilantro garnish) Chicken korma (creamy flavorful sauce full of tender chicken), Lamb Biryani (traditional dum style lamb and basmati rice layered & cooked together on slow-fire, for optimal blending of flavors and herbs, and then sealed and steamed to release maxim aromas and mature flavors) Chicken haleem (comforting Lahori dish with slow cooked chicken & lentils) samosa chat (deconstructed samosas with chickpea masala & sauces), Plus sesame naan and garlic naan Loved how the creamy dishes were topped with sliced ginger to aid in digestion. Bilal, thank you for the hospitality, I can't wait to come back & tell others about this spot This meal was gifted, opinions my own.

Kavsar is a family-owned restaurant that feels like a hidden local gem and a great escape if you want to try something new. This was my first time having Uzbek food and I really enjoyed it. It was definitely a lot of food for one person, but I wanted to try a little of everything and I'm glad I did. Everything tasted fresh, hearty, and homemade. One tip: don't get too full on the main dishes. Save room for the Honey Cake for dessert. It's absolutely worth it and something you don't want to miss. It is unassuming from the outside and seems tiny when you enter, but don't let that fool you! First, they have an entire extra room of seating in a space next door (that seems to have been recently remodeled). The menu has a nice variety of options listing hot and cold appetizers, main entrees, sides and desserts. They specialize in Uzbek Cuisine which is quite different in some areas, but also similar to other cuisines with certain dishes. There are a variety of dumpling entrees and also fried dough/fried pocket items. One of the favorites among my family is the fried pelmeni which are small, beef filled dried delights. Perfectly fried, bite sized and packed with flavor. They are served with sour cream and a sweet chili sauce, but you don't really need any dipping sauce because they are so good on their own. Another appetizer we love is the cheburek, a beef filled fried pastry similar to something like an empanada. For entrees, I've had the Uzbek plov several times. Rice with carrots raisins and lamb. The lamb is tender and perfectly seasoned. It is one of those dishes that I am stuffed but can't stop eating because it is so delicious. The pelmeni soup is another highlight. Perfect for a cold day or to give you an ultimate comfort food meal. Service is usually pretty attentive (although if you end up in the extra room it will be on the slower side but still good). There is street parking right in front of the restaurant, but if there isn't space, there is also a municipal lot about a block away. The one down side is that if they are busy, it can take quite awhile to get food. But the wait is worth it! If you are looking to try something new and different, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!

But, the food is still pretty alright. I tried the Moroccan cookies, the baklava, the lamb gyro sandwich, and the hummus. Originally, I had ordered basbousa, but they were out of it. So, to make up for it, the gave me the cookies and some hummus (more than enough, so thank you!) The cookies themselves were probably my favorite part of the meal. They were coated nicely with powdered sugar and had a slight date flavor, a grainy texture, and were overall quite good. The hummus was kind of disappointing. It had a strange acidity to it. Honestly, it just didn't take that fresh or creamy. There also wasn't any pits served with it. The lamb gyro was also just alright. I had ordered it without lettuce, but it came with lettuce anyways. The meat was fine, not too tender or tough, but probably also not the highest quality. Pita seemed not homemade. Lots of vegetables. Sauce was okay, a little creamy, but not too much. The baklava was not worth buying, in my opinion. It definitely tasted storebought and not made in house. It was stale and quite flavorless. No crunch, no nuttiness, very dry. No syrup. Not that good. I probably won't be returning to this place for the cooked food. But, the market itself is really nice, so I may come back for that.
