It's nice to find good kabobs in the IE, and while I think I've been here before (not counting Dog Haus, a prior tenant) it's possible the restaurant changed hands and names in the last year or so. Conveniently close to Costco and 99 Ranch Market, parking is a breeze. We love beef kabobs, chicken too, but especially beef. Our absolute favorite spot is a Persian place in Pasadena but after today's visit, Kabob Crush is a solid second place! I like how they tier the kabob plate options with clear pricing and side choices relevant to 1, 3, or 3 skewers. The rice pilaf is a wonderful change from plain basmati rice served elsewhere, and their Tabouli salad is another great side choice. Why? Because, compared with other spots around town they don't use large quantities of bottled lemon juice, only fresh. It makes a big difference too. Middle Eastern Salad was our second side choice for the three-kabob plate we split for lunch. Also included was a large, warmed pita bread that we split. The guy who took our order asked how we wanted him to cook the kabobs, I recommend medium, and that's exactly what we got. A very flavorful marinade lent itself well, that and the surprise condiment, a spicy green sauce. Wow! That sauce is great, so tangy with a hot pepper and citrus kick. Best with the beef kabobs the guy said, and we agreed. Everything we tried was excellent. The portions were good, the food was fantastic, and if the lobby is a bit bare, at least there's still 6' or more between tables to keep safe from Covid-19 and its foul offspring. I look forward to trying other kabobs and shawerma options, perhaps falafel too, in the near-future. read more

I randomly came across this place when I was going to Costco. I'm so glad I stopped by because it was so good. The chicken was flavorful, the hummus is good and the rice is amazing. The service is solid and they get the food out pretty quickly. It's a great pit stop before you do your shopping in the area. For some people it might be expensive but to be honest is worth it. This guy knows how to cook and besides not everything on the menu is expensive. And the wait time is not bad. So I would have given this place three stars if we were just comparing food but the service was good so... girl in red sweater, you did good. I took forever to decide what I wanted to eat. I usually get falafel but sometimes places make it too salty and I can't eat it. If you like salty food this is a great place to go. The lamb chops were great and seasoned well however the rice it came with was extremely salty and I couldnt eat it. The other side dishes were amazing and went super well with my lamb chops even though I felt like the lamb chops were kind of small for the price. The TVs are really loud inside of the restaurant and it echoes so if you're OK with loud noises there is seating inside. The pistachio baklava was a little disappointing for me because I am used to going to Persian markets and finding baklava doused in honey. This was my favorite place to get Mediterranean food. Unfortunately today we were greeting by a woman who couldn't understand English and could not take our order properly. Upon further inspection we noticed there was not the third combo added to our order so we went back to order again. The woman had to have a translator (fine) but everything felt like my family and I were in the wrong. We get our orders and drive home. An hour drive later, our orders are incorrect. Not one meal was correct. This was partially our mistake for not double checking but NEVER have they messed up our orders in the last 5 years we have been coming here. I came in here on a Tuesday because my normal Kebab place in Riverside was closed. This place had really good reviews so I thought I would try it out. Everyone in my party are Mediterranean food aficionados so we had high hopes for this place. But after waiting an exceptionally long time for our food we were extremely disappointed. First off they only had enough lamb for one plate which happened to be mine, so others that wanted lamb were forced to order other items. When we got the food nothing had flavor, I didn't taste any spices or salt. Lamb was overcooked and oversized for a kebab. I needed a knife to cut every single piece. My kids also said their food was very bland as well. We had ordered the falafel and it was the worst falafel I had ever had. Beans not completely ground, very greasy and again "0" flavor. Their hummus was extremely unusual as it had chunks of chickpea instead of being a smooth consistency. I also ordered a side of baba ghanoush and it was the worst I've ever had. Thick, not creamy and flavorless left me wishing my normal go-to spot was open. After all this I regretted paying $117 for this meal that fed four people. In the middle of our meal a family came in and their children were bouncing a basketball off the walls and floor like it was a gym. I really had hoped the staff would have said anything but they did not. I left this place disgusted, irritated and like I had been robbed for what I paid. I will not come back here. read more

Overall: 4.5 stars. Price: 4-5 stars. About the same as other Mediterranean restaurants, combos ranging from $14.99-$19.99. However, I love that you get choices for the sides in the combos! Some places, their side items are set (in stone Lol and they will not let you substitute). Here, I can pick any two sides I prefer and not be forced to get hummus for every plate. This is one of the reasons we keep coming back: being able to select different sides. Taste: 5 stars. I like their Kefta (mixed ground beef and lamb) because it's not tough nor dry. The kids enjoy the Chicken and beef shawerma combo $14.99 because they're thinly sliced marinated pieces with a lot of flavor. The two cold appetizers of your choice such as tabouleh, Mediterranean salad with crisp cucumbers etc, the white cabbage salad, and turshi (crisp sour pickled carrots and cauliflower) all go so well with the meat and rice. Good portions too so I'm not still hungry after I finish a whole combo (unlike a previous Mediterranean restaurant we used to frequent). There's only a couple things and that is the falafel is kind of salty and their flat pita bread is not as soft as other places. The white garlic sauce is very tasty though. Atmosphere: ? I don't normally eat Middle Eastern/Greek/Mediterranean food often, but I do once in while have a craving for some kabab's especially lamb kababs. BUT this place did lamb kababs no justice. Not one single ounce of justice. When you eat lamb meat in general... you think of the heavenly tenderness after the first bite. You feel the juice ooze out of the meat, and you are in AWWW.... I got to have some more.... Lamb meat has to be cooked right.... Or it will taste really dry in the mouth and that is NOT A GOOD FEELING. Lamb has to be cooked, just right. If you F UP lamb, the customer will be flossing their teeth all night trying to get the lamb from sticking in between their teeth. That is a big NO NO! I came here to try this place out because I haven't had Mediterranean food in awhile, and I used to frequent one when I lived back in LA cause their lamb kababs were to DIE FOR! I ordered the lamb kabab combo. I ordered two sides which was hummus and red onions. It came with their famous garlic sauce and pita bread. The Hummus was bland. I love hummus when it has some sort of flavor. This one was rather plain tasting. Usually when Mediterranean places serve you this dish, I would taste some sorta of garlic in it, but this was pretty bland. Not enough taste. Lack of flavor. I felt like I was tasting smashed up cardboard almost. I would say 1/5 Stars for this side. The Red Onions were rather tasty. It had a lot of flavor which was nice. Whatever mixed of spices and herbs they used, they made these slices of red onions taste really good. I ate this side dish more than I ate anything else to be honest. These red onions had a very nice sweet and sour taste to it which made it very appetizing. I love sweet and sour side dishes. I give this side dish a good solid 5/5 Stars. The Pita Bread they gave was pretty soft and very edible. I love when they give Pita bread nice, soft and warm. It makes it better to dip it into the hummus. Their Pita bread was soft, chewy and moist. I give their Pita bread a good 4/5 Stars. The only reason for the 1 Stars down is because I like thick pita bread more. This one was more on the thinner side. The Lamb was the big screw up here. Their lamb was pretty dried and it lacked flavor. You know the taste of dried up meat? When it takes a few minutes of your time to chew it up and swallow? This was exactly that. If Lamb is cooked right, their juices inside comes juicing out of your mouth, and it's very easy to chew on. When it's cooked wrong, it's dried up, has no juice and no flavor. I felt like I was chewing on one piece for like forever before I can swallow. This was no bueno for me. When the meat is so dried up, it looses the luster for the taste of the meat also. Lamb has a very distinctive taste, and when it is dried up... the flavor, the taste and the juices inside are gone... even with the garlic sauce they provide... it tasted awful. The garlic sauce itself was pretty tasty. I did like the garlic sauce. I give this 0/5 Star... Overall, I give this place a 2 Stars. The decent Pita bread and the tasty red onions gave it the full 2 Stars. Will I come back? Maybe not for the lamb, but maybe try the other meats like beef or chicken? I don't know. I'll be sure to have extra floss though. Haha! read more
