Never again. I gave this place one more shot and I was disappointed yet again. The food is not good. Not that flavorful Indian spice that I love. The saag paneer and chicken biryani is ok,but that's about it. The naan taste really doughy. They have changed alot since the last time I've been there. No buffet style anymore. I arrive a 11am when they are supposed to open. The sign on the door was turned to closed so I thought they hadn't opened yet. I called the restaurant at 11:10 am and the young lady said that they were open so I came inside. I had to wait a while because the food wasnt ready. At 11:30am all of the options still wasn't ready so I just ordered what they had available. After the lady fixed my container of food she asked me did I want her to warm it up. ( this put the icing on the cake) the food wasnt even hot and I waited all of this time! The lady was nice and polite and I'm sure it wasnt her fault so I didnt show her any frustration. I just told her that I'll warm it up when I go home. I'm sure they thought that their new rentivations would improve their business but its actually worse. I'll never go back there again.

Remodeled Shaheen is great !!! I like the fast casual aspect and the new menu makes it so much easier for someone not completely comfortable with Pakistani dishes. Had some amazing Haleem and nihari (tendered stewed beef) it was AMAZEBALLS!!! Ended with some delicious homemade sweets .

Ordered from the catering menu chicken biryani with extra chicken & haleem for 10 people. Chicken pieces were mostly bone with very little meat - as if a whole chicken was cut into 20 pieces after the breasts where removed - it was awful as nearly each bite included small bones in your mouth. Also, no bread provided with the haleem - excuse being we only provide bread for single orders ?????? Finally, since the catering menu doesn't include prices (for orders less than for 50 people) what was quoted at the time of order and what they charged at pick differed - with more money charged. They claim the person taking the order made a mistake???? Very, very disappointed with food quality & price change l

Their Biryani was nothing to rave about. We asked for a spicy level and they had upped it but it was still tasteless.

Shrimp were good no wow factor, wings were good just plain but would have been better if they had a sauce and the burnt ends had more of a smoked bbq flavor which was different than usual but very tender and tasty. It was served with mixed vegetables and coleslaw. Veggies were ok and seasoned and coleslaw was to be desired. Not burnt ends is an entree on the menu. For entrees: crispy chicken sandwich with fries and chicken Mishkaki. Can I say, wow the portion required stretch pants! The sandwich; meat to bun is 20% more chicken than bread. It was seasoned and fried to perfection. The fries are in house cut and seasoned well too. The chicken Mishkaki is dish never tried before but reminds you of Nazan Halal's chicken with more of a rich tomato stew flavor with peppers, onions. It was about 8 to 10 skinless thin thighs seasoned and fork tenderness served in its own plate, then another plate with rice and the fixings. Think of a fajita sizzling plate and side plate of the fixings, same as this dish. I would definitely visit again! My pictures didn't save but here are few from other viewers which is identical to what was served.

It's definitely a fun spot whether you're going for a date night or with a group. For meats, my favorites were the seasoned steak, soy pork bulgogi, and the Hawaiian bulgogi -- all were well-marinated, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You really can't go wrong with any of those. The sides were just as good and really completed the meal. I especially enjoyed the grilled veggies, kimchi, and the cheese cream corn (which was super creamy and a standout). Also, don't skip the lemon drops -- they were really good and paired well with the whole experience. Overall, this is one of my go-to Korean BBQ spots in the area. Loud pop music greets you as you walk in. Zauq is to the right. It seemed like a lot of folks were picking up classic American fare: wings, onion rings, other chicken dishes, but I was coming for some Halal food. I got a large rice platter with mixed chicken and lamb. The shredded chicken was okay; could have used more seasoning or something, but that's why they give you white and/or red sauce. The lamb was basically cubed gyro meat, which I enjoyed; I would get a platter of just this next time. You can add as many toppings as you'd like, including onion, lettuce, tomato, chickpeas, pickles, and hot peppers. Make it what you want. For $9.99 (as of 2025), that's a bargain for the amount of food you get. Overall it tasted pretty good. I think if I come back I'm going to try out the falafel and/or the fried chicken sandwiches. The folks are friendly and fast. The whole place, staff and clientele, seemed to be a melting pot of every ethnic group imaginable - Woodlawn baby, gotta love it. There's a Shahada posted above the counter in both Arabic and English, but the food is for everyone and I'm here to say, it's solid. You won't be disappointed.
