I was there today at 12 something and the workers were very unprofessional how they made me wait so they could finish their conversation about something that wasn't work related. Also, I was the only customer. Then how they raised their voice at me after letting them know that it was rude of them for making me wait. This place is the spot around this area. The staff is friendly and food is good. The just opened up a small dessert Boba inside that serves Halo Halo as well. The food is very cheap and fast. Catering is also available for parties including a whole pig. read more

There is another lumpia place across the street but that guy is kind of a d*ck to his customers so we started going to Kababayan. The food here is very hit and miss. Even though this place is closer to my house, I'd rather get Filipino food from National City. There is a female staff member here that has been rude to my mother on more than one occasion and given her an attitude when we've ordered food. Not good customer service. read more

Only giving one star because of the customer service given towards us. Walked inside around 11AM and no greet from anyone. We kindly asked for a bag of hot pandesal. I come here for their pan de sal. Its nothing special but It's the closest Filipino bakery to my house. But their anti social attitude is really getting as old as the bread they have on their racks. Specially the women that works their. It's not that they are rude. They just act as if the customers are an inconvenience to them. And I'm not alone on this one. Gave this place 5 stars because the selection of food is good. They have lechon, sisig, lumpia and a lot more. Service was good. A bit slow but that's because it was crowded. These people are not cheap with their portions. We were just out and about exploring and ran into this amazing find. All I can say is that its the best PINOY BAKERY. I don't see many of these although in LA there is Goldilocks which is good but this is so much better. I bought some extra things so that when I have a taste I have these treasures to fall back on. I used to love this place, but have been disappointed the last few months I've been going here. The pandesal I've been given the last couple of times were burnt. I mean like over baked. You can't see it from the top of bag, but when I get home all the pandesal in bag was over baked. That's happened three time to me already. I guess I'll be going back to Valerio's. I love coming here with my mom! The ladies are always so friendly with us and the portions are always more than my stomach can handle, which is okay, just means leftovers later! Poor customer service. The server was not engaging and had a "hurry up and tell me what you want to get" tone in her voice. I asked if I can only get 1 longanisa with my arroz caldo and she replied, $2.50 for 3. I again explained I can only eat one and she repeatedly said 3 for $2.50 again with the same tone mentioned above. No explanation and insisting I can only buy 3 at a time. Food was average. They have some guy working there with the rudest attitude. I went there a couple of weeks ago and got the tuyo, eggs and fried rice for breakfast. I paid for my order and as I was walking out the door, I remembered I didn't get the vinegar and garlic dipping sauce for the tuyo. I asked the lady who was serving food and she said "ok hold on I'll get some for you." She turned to rude boy and asked him to get me the dipping sauce. His response was "we don't give those out for the tuyo we only give those out for the pulutans." I was like "really? Whatever!!" I walked out thinking "what's the difference whether it's tuyo or pulutan. If you're going to serve a food that should have condiments go with it then you should have these things available. That's just ridiculous!!! I will NEVER go back to this place again. I would rather drive in the opposite direction to national city then give them any more of my $$. That rude boy is the worst. Food is ok but they wont give you extra napkins especially plates typical filipino resturant in the Philippines. Next door is water refilling station same owner but this place dont even provide free water cause they want you to buy everything from them. Outside hobo/beggar waiting for you and ask for some change. My advice to owner since you have a bussiness next door why dont you offer free sample of water to customers maybe this will help your water bussiness better read more

I have had it with this establishment! I have been a loyal customer for years. Even though they were rude at every time I've been there. The food is great but the service is awful. What kills me the most is that I call days in advance to order for parties or potlucks and one hundred percent of the time it is never ready. Not only is it not ready they have no idea that I even placed an order. When calling days in advance they ask for your order your phone number what time you want to pick it up? The whole shebang. And then when you go to pick it up they have the nerve to look at you like you're making things up. So even though you want to walk out you can't because you RSVP for a potluck for 100 pieces of lumpia and you have to wait for them to make it. After it happen the first time I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and try again but so far I've ordered about five times and every time they never have the order ready. If you want to go and just pick up something quick from the line, One you might just get plain ignored or two you'll get a very rude lady helping you. Like I said the only thing I like about it is the food. Except for the chicken adobo. It's not boneless chicken so there's a little shards of bone sprinkled throughout.
