Alright, here is the quick run down. We came for Narragansett restaurant week. The deal was $25 for a soup/salad, an app, a specialty roll or kitchen entrée and a fried icecream dessert. Space is decent, nothing to really write home about. It was definitely a casual spot. Service was poor, very slow at the start so it took a long time to put in our order. It eventually picked up and the food came out fast, but not good on the first impression. Rock shrimp was solid, good flavor, nice texture on the shrimp. Definitely lobster-like in texture which I've read. The salad was a typical salad with miso ginger dressing. Always solid. The spring rolls my wife got were kind of mushy.. Not very appetizing. I think they were over fried. The sushi rolls were specialty ones, the rhode island roll and out of control roll. Both decent, but the fish was not a great texture. It wasn't nice, firm fish. Pretty soft and didn't feel very fresh. The fired ice cream was bad. The ice cream as rock hard and it was not good quality. So much badder, no redeamimg factor about it really. Overall, don't think I'd come back. Far too much competition for better sushi around the state.

Food was delicious, great price and service was excellent!!!! I had the homemade wonton soup, pumpkin cider beer and lunch special 2 for $12.00 and choice of miso soup or salad...... it was very good....

First time at kabuki in Wakefield and it was during Narragansett restaurant week. The promotional menu is great because it allows for a sampling of different dishes. There is easy parking here, and the vibe inside is nice but not fancy. It's a crowd pleasing type of place. The service started off very slowly. We waited quite a while to place our order, but once we did, the food came out quickly with no further delays. And our waitress was pleasant enough. With the event menu, my husband and I were both offered soup or salad, an appetizer, entree, and fried ice cream for dessert. There was no shortage of food, but it was all just average. We both started with the salad and it came with the ginger dressing that you will find at most sushi restaurants. Not a standout, but I do always enjoy it and I know exactly what to expect from it. Next, I chose the spring rolls for my appetizer, and this was the weakest item I had. They were very oily, the batter was super thick, and the inside was mush. They reminded me of a bad frozen spring roll. My husband ordered the Rocky Shrimp, and those were pretty tasty. I liked the accompanying sauce, but they also had a thick fried batter. For our main, I ordered the Rhode Island Roll, and my husband got the Out of Control Roll. They were good/fine, but I have had better sushi around the state. The texture was odd in that they were very soft. Nevertheless, they satisfied my sushi craving. The fried ice cream dessert was also not particularly special. The ice cream was on par with a generic market brand vanilla and the heavy fried batter quickly turned soft. It was dressed up with whipped cream, chocolate and caramel drizzle, and some sprinkles, so I imagine it would appeal to a younger audience. As I said, the meal and experience was very average. Nothing standout, but nothing was awful either (except those spring rolls). Ultimately, kabuki is not somewhere I would rush back to, but if the majority of my group voted to go, then I would comply. So, it's a take it or leave it for me. But, give it a try yourself and see what you think!

One of the best spots for sushi and I truly think about it multiple times a week. My absolute favorite things from here are the chicken lettuce wraps, the American dream roll, veggie fried rice and the miso soup. I order the same exact thing every time I come here and it never misses. The sushi is so fresh and tasty, kind of on the more expensive side but definitely worth it. The inside is a good environment for date night/ girls night/ group dining but they also offer take out which is what I typically do.

I actually passed by this place a lot, but never actually tried it. I wish I tried this place earlier. I finally stopped by this place for lunch one time. It was pretty close to when they opened, so seating was wide open. I ordered scallion pancakes and sushi a la carte. Ya, scallion pancakes are not very Japanese, but I'm from Taiwan, so I will order them every time I see them, lol. These guys do it more correctly than many other restaurants. They serve it already sliced with soy sauce/vinegar/garlic dip. The scallion pancake itself had a nice crispy exterior, but still had a nice chew on the interior. A lot of other places where I've ordered scallion pancakes way overcook it to the point where the entire thing is basically just a crispy fried cracker. For sushi, I ordered a la carte; sake, hamachi, and toro. My waiter also suggested I try the uni, so I ordered that as well. I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised by the fish. I could've eaten entire tray fulls of the sake and hamachi. Oh, can we also note that they make these in nigiri? Thaaaaaank you!! I'm a big believer of the fact that for most sushi, nigiri is way better (and more proper) than maki. The toro...on the menu it says otoro, but I wouldn't say it was fatty enough to really be otoro. It didn't quite have that melt-in-your-mouth texture. It was still pretty tasty, although I was wishing for more of a buttery flavor and texture. The surprise for me was the uni. This place sells uni for a pretty darn reasonable price. The uni was very very good. It had a really nice texture and was sweet. Usually, if you want good uni, you'll have to paaaaaaaay for it. Cheap uni will usually be a bit slimy, have a scent of low tide, and/or be a bit bitter. This place had great uni at an amazing deal. Definitely try it.

out of control roll in front, royal roll in back

we drove a little far to try the sushi because it looks so pretty! i count myself a sushi connoisseur; but to be honest it was super mid. my 2 rolls had barely any flavor and they were room temp. one thing about raw sushi rolls, they should be cold! the salmon crispy rice was pretty good but other than that, it was a bit of a flop

I have always driven by this place and have seen a filled parking lot, and now I know why. The food is excellent and served with a smile. We were greeted nicely as we entered and were seated immediately. Our server came by with water and got our drink order right away. The menu is expansive from sushi and tempura to staple Chinese food to tiramisu! Our main course came out quickly and was excellent. The menu has wonderful pictures of their desserts and why not, I wasn't quite ready to explode like a Monty Python character! Normally a picture looks better than things actually taste, this is not the case here so save room. I recommend the Coppa Cafe dessert. It might be a nice spot for a date night

Amazing sushi spot in Wakefield!! The sashimi is incredibly fresh and delicious. Although I'm not Japanese, I've been to Japan, and I can assure you their food is always fresh and never upsets my stomach. I absolutely adore the tuna salad and the aquarium sashimi. the white fish tastes just like butter . The staff is also very welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

Sat in the bar area for the first time and it's definitely the best spot we were looking for. Nice, cozy, and romantic! Drinks and appetizers are perfect for date night.

I ordered the House Ramen and it left me feeling satisfied. The noodles were a perfect texture, had the right amount of chew for me, not overcooked at all. The toppings were all tasty as well, including the flavorful pork. I was only left wanting more from 2 aspect of the bowl - the broth (which is a huge component!) and the egg. This was just a regular soft-boiled egg, not a soy egg, so it didn't have that extra special touch for me. But, back to the broth - while it was good and comforting, I feel it lacked in flavor and mouthfeel. Still good, just underwhelming. However, I do always enjoy the atmosphere at New Wave Kitchen. It's cozy and inviting, an intimate spot to enjoy some comfort food with friends. Bonus points for playing Kiki's Delivery Service while we were there, too! The staff were super friendly during our visit as well. Customers order at the counter here and then food is delivered to your table. The workers were very nice, courteous, and helpful. I am a ramen lover and will gladly return to New Wave Kitchen any time!

I just came here a couple of days ago for a Yelp event (please check that review for my thoughts on…read morethe pork bun and Sapporo-style ramen on their menu). I liked it so much that I decided to come back and dragged my co-worker with me. The interior is sort of a long narrow-ish setup, with seating on one side, and the ordering counter on the other side. Edison-style bulbs lined the area, providing a warm, orange-ish light. Cozy. You walk up to the counter and order. They'll give you a number and bring your order to your table. I ordered the blackened tuna bun and O.G. Miso ramen (with an addition of pork and egg), with a Yuki Tora sake. The tuna bun was tasty. I believe the tuna was aburi torched, and it was topped with carrots, scallions, wakame, and sesame seeds. It also had eel sauce and wasabi, which created a great flavor combination between the piercing spice of wasabi and the sweetness of eel sauce. The O.G. Miso ramen used a miso broth, with carrots, cabbage, shiitake, topped with scallions, sesame seeds, and a piece of nori. And of course, I added pork and an egg to it. I love shiitake in my ramen broth, as it adds a bit of savoriness, and also provides a bit of meaty texture. The miso flavor in this broth is much more prominent compared to the Sapporo-style ramen, however, I found Sapporo-style broth much more complex and balanced. I think what I was missing in this would be a drizzle of sesame oil. I also got a Yuki Tora nigori sake with my meal, which I found I loved from the Yelp event a couple of days ago. One with the meal, and another one as just dessert after the meal. Also convinced my co-worker to try it, and he also liked it. This place is definitely worth the visit. In general, you won't find ramen this good unless you're willing to go into the city and pay as much for an hour's worth of parking as your meal costs.

They have some pretty simple rolls, and they have some pretty out there kind of rolls. I've never had one that I outright disliked, though? It's in the corner of Belmont Market...has a small case in the front and then you can also order there or call ahead. You're only allowed to take 2 items from the to-go case at a time. My husband didn't realize this, and got snapped at by the owner for trying to buy more. We're a family of four so of course that doesn't work for us. So we ordered ahead the next time. 4 rolls took over an hour for them to make. Ridiculous. So my husband and I would tag-team...he'd go in for 2 boxes from the case and I'd go in after for 2 more. The second time we needed to order ahead, it also took an hour, but we were prepared that time and waited the full hour before going to the store to pick it up. But today? My husband went in an hour after he placed our order (4 rolls and a container of edamame) and not only wasn't it ready yet, it took an additional half hour to finish the order! My husband was standing there with our 4-year-old, waiting, and the woman making the rolls was not only making our order, but when she said "I just have to make your Philadelphia roll" she made 3 of them at once and packaged them all up and put the 2 extra in the case rather than fill our order so we could get out of there and feed our kids lunch. Come ON. Completely unacceptable. And the owner is rude. I don't know how they get away with it all. Kabuki, here we come with all our future sushi business! Tucked away in the Corrigan Financial complex just off Aquidneck you will find this awesome sushi/ramen factory! The service is definitely on point and very attentive to your needs. The sushi rice is fried to create the base and then the toppings with protein selection is applied. I tried it with spicy salmon and it was good, little light with protein, but flavorful. For my main I went with spicy miso ramen which comes with three tempura shrimp as well. It was a hefty meal for one and needless to say I brought home my future meal as I could not make it through everything. The broth had a light to medium spice level and hit the ramen spot. The sushi itself was genuinely delicious once we finally got it, and the atmosphere wasn't bad if you're looking for a more upscale, boujie vibe and don't mind sitting for a while. That said, the portions felt a bit small, especially for the price point, which was noticeably more than our usual sushi spot. We ended up leaving still pretty hungry. The most disappointing part of the experience was unfortunately the service and wait time. From the time we ordered to the time we were actually served, it took about an hour. Our waitress seemed incredibly overtasked and only came to our table twice the entire visit. She also didn't bring out our dishes, which added to the disconnected experience. Overall, it just didn't meet the expectations we had going in. Good sushi, but between the wait, service, pricing, and portion sizes, it wasn't quite the experience we were hoping for.
