As i walked in, very impressed with the decor, but the service was awful. The hours show they are open from 11:30-9:30. We went for lunch arriving at 2, after we were seated we were told they close for break at 2:30 and needed to hurry up with our order, after i asked the waitress why we were seated if they close soon, she states we could stay and eat our food. There are not good enough words to describe Kabuto's. My fiancé is beyond obsessed with this place and we come quite often. The staff know who we are when we walk in, and we have always had incredible service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious Japanese Steakhouse, or any food for that matter! Place is very nice, and was surprised at how big it is. The sushi was nice, but the service was slow. They only have one sushi chef that I could see, and the waitress forgot one of the rolls so I had to wait longer. I would go back to try the hibachi, and the friend I went with has already been back. My husband and I went here to eat, spur of the moment. We didn't have a reservation and there were several large parties going on. We were able to walk in, waited a few minutes and were seated. The food was great and the service was efficient. I think they have some ironing out to do since it's a new place. Definitely worth trying out. Called to place a large take out order (which our business had before) asked to have orders rung separate (which we had done before) was told no and "accidentally" hung up on. The man answering the phone said he didn't have time for that. The food was well liked on previous orders so we called back and placed the order anyway. The COSTUMER service was horrible. The food we received this time was just ok definitely not the quality of the previous orders and we will not be ordering from there again. read more

We there with my son-in-law and family for this birthday. Before going I checked the menu which stated I could order a low carb version. When we sat down I asked to order an meal without rice and vegetables as a replacement. I was rudely told that that was not possible and the meal I order would have to be cooked in the kitchen. After seeing the commercials and reading the reviews on Yelp, my mother and I were really looking forward to celebrating my Dad's birthday at Kabuto. We got there around 6pm, on Saturday and were seated immediately. The décor was beautiful and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the evening quickly went downhill from there. Within 15 minutes, the restaurant was packed with patrons waiting to be seated. There was not enough space for them to wait, so the overflow of people stood near our table and that of another table closer to the bar. In addition to the packed lobby/restaurant, every time someone entered the restaurant a cold breeze (it was 28 degrees outside) forced us to put on our coats. On top of all that, there was an obnoxiously loud private party going on that seemed to get worse as the evening wore on. After eating our soup and salad, we then waited an HOUR for our entrees. Our waitress was not very attentive and after finally getting her attention to ask about our dinners, she brought us our meals. The food was tasty but cold. I flagged down one of the hostesses to tell her about the cold food. She offered to get a manager, but I told her I was concerned that if I sent the food to be warmed, it might be another hour before I got it back. She was nice enough, but seemed to be at a loss as to what to do. It never occurred to her to send the manager over anyway. Finally fed up, we asked for containers so we could go home to microwave our meals, and sit in front of a fireplace to warm up. I took my daughter to celebrate her birthday because she loves sushi. The decor is beautiful and the drinks are great. The food presentation with decorated plates is lovely. However, food other than sushi lacks flavor and is unimpressive. I had the teriyaki fried rice which lacked vegetables, very few shrimp and had very little egg pieces. The teriyaki sauce was good but I have had better. The cloth napkins had an odor in them that reeked of an old dish rag. I asked my server for paper napkins because even my daughters napkin smelled badly, he never brought them to the table. I had to walk to the bar and ask the manager if I could take some paper napkins back to my table. I told him that the napkins had an odor and he didn't seem to care. A year earlier, my daughter and I celebrated her birthday there and I had the BBQ short ribs that were dry and tough. I wasn't really happy with the food then but this was where my daughter wanted to go for sushi. The prices are reasonable but I would rather go where the food is enjoyable. When I first came to this restaurant I was in love with the atmosphere, food, and service. But my last two visits has completely changed my mind about this place. The first to last visit I brought two of my friends to the restaurant since they were curious about this place I was raving about. Well the sushi was an hour late. The wait didn't really bother us because I was with two friends that I hadn't seen in awhile so we were so deeply engaged in conversation. What we did notice was that the restaurant in general was basically short staffed and usually if this happens in any business the manager/owner/leader who ever rolls up their sleeves and help out but this guy decided to stand over his employees shoulders as if that was supposed to help them move faster when they're already moving as fast as they can. Poor leadership quality. The second to last visit was horrible. I called in for sushi for take out and the order was the complete wrong amount giving us way more than what we asked for. The manager yelled at the poor hostess in front of everyone and made her cry. Again what kind of leader does this? The manager took the food and instead of just sorting out the food that my mom and I asked for and letting us be on our way he decides to make us wait even longer for the food and get our order after he was done putting away all the pieces of sushi. As he gave my mom and I the food he told us to "clarify the order next time" with an attitude then snatched the credit card out my moms hand! What kind of customer service is this?? So when he came back I told him he needed to go apologize to his employee for publicly humiliating her and making her cry. I told him that his behavior was not professional and the service was awful. He wasn't sorry at all. I was so hopeful for this restaurant but I don't see this place lasting much longer if he thinks he can talk to his employees and most importantly his customers like scum on the bottom of his shoe. read more
