Service was super rushed. I'm in on a Saturday as what was clearly the first Happy Hour customer. Yes I said that right ;) so I'm amped to come and just relax to enjoy some sushi with soju. My attendant was constantly badgering me after I said I wanted a bottle and wanted to pace my order out. During my time eating only 4 other tables came but it was not busy at all seems as though they had 3 attendees. The seaweed salad came first and OMG so flavorful and fresh! Crunch along with everything was perfection. I then asked for the shumai as my salad was dropped. Those arrived in good timing so I was able to pair the two and they work very well together flavor wise. I am definitely putting this on the rebuy list!!! I'd eat a large plate of each together anytime :) My Laura was exquisite everything melded well and was quite tasty. I will try another time to see if I get better service but for now I'll settle for Uber Eats :(

This place rocks! If you'd like a wonderful experience & delicious sushi for a fair price, then you won't go wrong by choosing Minato. I was greeted by friendly staff & served by a professional team that cares about their customers. The sushi I ate was recommended by the sushi chef. I think it's called "The Flying Shrimp" and it was scrumptious I'll be back for sure!

(12/20/2025) came back to our fave sushi place after 8 years away. Fortuitously, it was happy hour. It's a steal for the quality and price. Service was efficient. This was our go-to for birthdays and celebrations, still is. I miss the friendliness of the old crew, but still a great spot downtown. Solid.

This is our first time trying this restaurant. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and this was her choice. The restaurant is in an older building with a lot of character. We started with appetizers - garlic edamame, cream cheese wontons, and vegetable spring rolls. The wontons were some of the best that we've ever had. The garlic edamame was a nice spin on a regular order. I chose the chicken teriyaki which was nicely sliced pieces of chicken with teriyaki sauce, a serving of rice and some broccoli. My mom got the ramen with shrimp and she said it's some of the best that she's ever had. Two other people in our party got sushi and they were happy at how fresh and tasty it was. The food came out quickly and our server was efficient. We will definitely add this place to go when we are in Baltimore.

Specialty rolls for $11? Sign me up! My friend and I went to Minato to get sushi and apparently they have happy hour sushi from Monday - Saturday from 4-7pm Walking in I was confused because they share the same door with an apartment complex but It was not hard to find. The ambiance is simple and enough space to hold large parties. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and ordered our food. Our waiter was patient with us as we took our time going through the list of sushi. I ordered the Hotspur which had soft shell crab shrimp eel and avocado. I cannot eat sushi without spicy mayo and eel sauce. This was pretty good. The flavors blended well and the soft shell crab was nice and crunchy I also ate my friends wild mushroom roll which I enjoyed as well. This left a good impression and I'll be back soon

Not bad for a quick lunch break drop in. I had a craving for sushi and wanted to something quick and easy to satisfy my tastebuds. I found this spot based on reviews and decided to give it a shot. I walked in and was greeted by a nice host who smiled and welcomed me in. I let him know that I was kinda in a hurry and he offered suggestions based on what I told him. I wasn't able to order what I originally had intended - the salmon teriyaki bento box, he mentioned it would take a while to make. To save me from being disappointed he offered me a seat at the bar and the menu for traditional rolls. The place had plenty of customers for lunch, which made me feel comfortable. The ambiance was clean, simple tabling and well spaced. There was a nice chandelier hanging from the ceiling that caught my attention. I order a spicy tuna roll , nothing fancy and a shrimp and avocado roll which turned out better than I expected. I wish I knew that the Special Maki rolls were on Lunch / HH specials - I would have ordered from that menu instead but it's all good ... $6-$7 per traditional roll ... I guess I'll just have to stop by again as suggested by my waiter lol The sushi came with plenty of ginger and wasabi which I highly appreciate , I had to ask for spicy mayo but it was complimentary. If you are looking for a quick bite to satisfy your hunger it's a cool spot .

Seafood is big here in Baltimore, so I wanted to make sure I stopped by a few seafood and sushi restaurants. Minato was one of the highly touted sushi/happy hour restaurants in the city, so it was a no-brainer to go. Also, it was within walking distance from my sisters apartment, so that is an added bonus. I loved how the restaurant was decorated. It is huge despite what it looks like from outside. The restaurant is long and narrow *pause* and there are, what seems like, an infinite amount of seats there. The ceilings illuminate different colors, and the walls have a way blue pattern. The whole restaurant is extremely pleasing to the eye. From the decor to the color pallete, everything is gorgeous. The service was great. Our server Cherry was extremely attentive. At one point, my sister expressed displeasure with her drink, and Cherry was quick to make another right away to my sister's pleasure. I think the server was new, but was knowledgeable and extremely present. The happy hour menu is huge. There are a ton of options to choose from. We had quite the spread including: Edamame, Spring Roll, Shumai, Curry Chicken Dumpling, and the Rolex Sushi Roll. The food was decent, it is not the best sushi I ever had, but for the value, it is well worth it. Their prices for everything are great for your pockets, even the drinks are extremely cheap, which I find is a lost art in the happy hour game. I should mention, however, the drinks are not strong at all, so this isn't the place to get wasted when you had a bad day at work lol. Perfect hang out place for friend groups or a calm after work date.

The fish is fresh and the prices are decent. The location is in a nice airy building with cute decor. Their happy hour discount is nominal and could be better. Saving 0.20 cents on a roll is not that "happy"

If I wrote a review three months ago this would be 5/5, because my wife and I USED to be able to rely on Minato Sushi to follow allergy warnings and instructions. She has severe celiac and has BAD reactions to small amounts of gluten. Here is the instruction I've been pasting into our online order, which has been the same for about 6 orders in a row over the past 3 months: "NO SOY SAUCE (allergy) Box 1: Yellowtail Scallion Roll & Spicy Tuna Roll ONLY Box 2: 3-Roll Combo" Minato has either mixed tempura rolls (that are breaded) or put soy sauce (which has wheat in it) into box 1, 2 out of 4 previous orders. I don't know how to make the instructions more clear. Employees must just not care. If you want them to actually follow boxing requests you have to call the restaurant immediately after ordering your food online. This is the only way I've been able to ensure my wife's safety. Lame.

My leftovers! (Not pictured: the sushi rolls I ate incredibly too fast)

Calling all indecisive eaters! Can't decide what sushi roll you want? Debating between springs rolls or crab wantons? Maybe craving some dumplings too? Minato has got you covered. As an indecisive eater myself, I have found so much joy from ordering Minato's lunch and dinner bento boxes. I often find myself craving multiple dishes at a time and I'm the worst at deciding! I love Minato because the menu options make it easy to get a whole schmorgesborg for a reasonable price! I ordered Minato recently for delivery through GrubHub. I ordered the lunch bento box which came with a choice of two sushi rolls and another dish of choice (the choices were a huge range from edamame, dumplings, spring rolls, or chicken). I went with the Arizona roll which is shrimp tempura and avocado, the spicy salmon roll which included cucumber, and the chicken katsu. I also ordered a salad with ginger dressing (because I'm sooo healthy). The breakdown: Sushi Rolls - I love Minato's sushi! In fact, it was SO good that I forgot to take a picture of it (oops). I've ordered quite a few different rolls from Minato and every single one comes out amazing. I love how fresh the ingredients are and that the rolls don't fall apart like some other places. They have a mix of classic rolls and unique special rolls too. Chicken Katsu - I honestly can't believe that the chicken katsu is an option for the lunch/dinner bento box but I LOVE that it is! It is some of the best chicken katsu I've experienced - super crunchy and flaky but also very flavorful and not overcooked. I couldn't finish it all at lunch so I saved it for dinner and it heated up nicely in my air fryer. Mixed Green Salad - I thought this salad was a great value for the price ($5 for a huge serving). My only complaint is that the ginger dressing was very oily. I wish the consistency was a little bit different so the dressing wouldn't separate as easily but the flavor was still great! Total Spend: $19 (not including delivery fees and tips). Next time you're craving sushi or asian fusion, make sure to give Minato a try. You'll never run out of options from their menu and your wallet will be happy too!

Finally decided to take a walk to Minato for Happy Hour! My absolute favorite thing was the Wonton Soup (shrimp wontons, chicken broth). I'm still thinking about it. Both the dumplings and broth were bursting with flavor. We also ordered a few sushi rolls, vegetable dumplings (solid choice), and a couple cocktails. I ordered the Lychee Saketini because it was a cool switch up from what I'd usually order. It tasted great, but there didn't seem to be much alcohol in it, so I switched to Soju ($12) . Overall, Minato is a solid sushi happy hour spot!

All you people that talk smack about Baltimore, get down here and get some.

This place is gold. I forgot to write this up when I was in Baltimore. I went to Baltimore to the history museum which is also worth a visit. I really wanted some sushi, so I found this place. Its weird front door makes it difficult to spot from the street. The restaurant is the 1st floor apartment in that tenement building. You go up the stairs and go into the building foyer. Then there's a door on the right that lets you into the restaurant. It's worth the trip. The fish is awesome. It's a nice space and a real gem in Baltimore. Flash mob this place if you're a sushi aficionado

My favorite of the special rolls was actually the spider roll which was made with softshell crab(and not pictured as it was promptly devoured) Would recommend if you're in the Baltimore area and want to support a local restaurant in a nice neighborhood. I also noticed they did the same for other tables, which really shows how much they care about the experience. I ordered four pieces in order from left to right: the maguro, albacore, sea bream, and toro. The maguro truly melted in my mouth. The albacore was delicious with a surprisingly generous portion. The sea bream was probably my least favorite of the lineup but still very good. The toro was easily my personal favorite, and I could have eaten 100 of those. Each order comes with two pieces which made trying different options even better. I also got the baked mussels and wowowowow they were so good. I genuinely wanted to order another round but I was already full. This is the closest spot I have found to an omakase style experience without actually doing a full omakase. It has more flavor, great presentation, and a little extra dazzle instead of just plain fish on rice. The only downside was that parking was a bit tough, but it was absolutely worth it for the quality of the meal. Highly recommend!

Expect to pay a lot but in return, gain access to unlimited top tier meats from the land and sea. Gyu San offers three levels of dining. The entire table must have the same level, so talk to your other diners before ordering what level you'd like to go for: Basic gives you their lowest quality cuts of meat and a handful of seafood options and side dishes. This is great for people who want to get their money's worth, especially when pairing their meal with Gyu San's extensive alcoholic cocktail menu. Their middle level offers a larger variety of beef, pork, and seafood, and side dishes. The middle level also offers ramen. The ramen is good, but extremely filling, so I advise avoiding it. This level also includes a one order-per customer wagyu sampler. This is a MUST include to get your money's worth and it will be the highlight of your meal. One of the sides you can unlock at this level is wagyu burgers. While these burgers are great, with a spicy sauce that is fantastic, they sit in your stomach and make it harder to eat more of the unlimited BBQ. If you must try it, order one and split it among your table. The final and most expensive level opens up an all wagyu menu, taking the one-time sampler from the second level and giving you as much as you can handle. In addition, you'll get one order of five unique appetizers, each carefully crafted around high end seafood and wagyu. Each person at the table can also pay an extra $5 for all you can eat sushi, and their sushi is good. If you're ordering from the low tier meats, then adding sushi is worth it for adding variety and good values. For more money saving, you can become a member by asking your server or host, though its only worth it if you plan on coming to Gyu San more often. Gyu San is a high cost, high caloric, and highly flavorful meal experience, best left as an ultimate treat-your-self with friends and family.

Our servers were attentive and we enjoyed the variety of seafood, Asian fusion and even saw some hibachi items. Azumi is a great place to enjoy some cocktails, sushi or hibachi. I highly recommend booking reservations in advance. The bartender did let me know they have sushi making classes and tuna carving sessions throughout the month. I'll definitely be back to try some different cuts of fish and their sushi rolls.

The service is professional and the management team is on the floor checking in. Shout out to Alex, who is one of the managers he just cares about the customers, the staff and the experience. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

It is the kind of place where the interactive nature of Japanese BBQ really shines, especially for a family meal. The environment has a nice, relaxed vibe. I really appreciated that the music was kept at a reasonable volume, allowing for easy conversation, and there was plenty of breathing room between tables. It leans toward the dimmer side, which works for the atmosphere, though our specific table setup was a bit awkward. We were at a split table designed for two grills, and because we were seated toward the back, half of the grill was pushed too far away from us to use comfortably. When it comes to the food, the real secret here is to stay focused on the beef. We opted for the meat variety menu for our party of five, and for $126, it is an incredible value. The portions were generous, but the quality of the meat was the real highlight. The Harami in the secret pot was a standout; it had a silky, buttery texture and was seasoned perfectly with that essential sweet and salty marinade. The Kalbi prime short rib was equally tender and is something I would order every single time. As for the sides, stick to the grill items. The gyoza were fresh and hit the mark with a nice crispy exterior and juicy center, and surprisingly, the corn cheese was a fun addition. Skip the ramen, which was mediocre at best, and steer clear of the calamari--ours arrived soggy, oily, and cold, clearly missing the hard fry it needed. The service truly elevated the visit. Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire meal, ensuring we never ran low on drinks or fresh grill plates. Even the manager stopped by, which was a nice touch; they were incredibly friendly and even provided a discount for our next visit in honor of Mother's Day. If you go, stick to the meat-heavy menu and enjoy the hospitality. It is a great spot to grill with friends or family as long as you navigate the menu wisely.

We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant is located in the main shop area of Rockville Town Square. There is plenty of parking available with nearby garages and street parking. We decided to do the AYCE Classic Set, there is a 90 minute limit and you are handed an iPad to order your selections. There is a limit of items that you can add... if I recall it was 10-15ish? Then once you submit an order you have a 5 minute limit before you can order your next batch of items. We ordered so many items, some of our favorites outside of the BBQ meats were: - Spicy Tuna Tartare - Shishito Peppers - Garlic Cucumber - Kuro Squid Noodle The meats were all high quality with generous portions. The time limit and wait times between orders were reasonable, we all left super full with time to spare. My two toddlers ate for free, I do not recall the cutoff age, but they are 1 and 3 if that gives some perspective. The food was excellent and the service matched. Our server David was very attentive, checking on us multiple times to clear plates and see if we needed anything. The table space has limited space due to the grill in the middle, but he was on top of making sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I really appreciated the extra time he took with actual plate placement, nothing hot close to the toddlers and even calling out when placing a hot item down to make sure hands and arms were clear. Delicious food, great service and perfect for families or large groups, I will definitely be coming back in the future :)

We did the lunch special and I ordered the hangar steak bento box with curry rice, garlic cucumber, chicken karrage and more. 10/10!!!!!! They actually cooked the steak for me in the back because we were in a bit of a rush. And the food was delicious, I'm obsessed. I also think it's a good amount of food for $18 with the lunch special. Service was great. Our servers were great and incredibly attentive. The restaurant is cozy yet romantic. I am definitely coming back to try their dinner or happy hour menu.
