Please consider some computer way of getting exact location information…read more I have lived out of town for over 30 years (Over 250 miles away) but was born and raised here and come back for funerals from time to time. My immediate family and relatives are all buried here. I wanted to check all of their stones as I was only in for one day to check Hillcrest. It is a big cemetery. I walked it for 1-1/2 hours and then went to the office to find the exact locations so I could put them on Find a Grave and no one else will have to look for them as I did. I have taken it upon myself to be the family historian and that means dealing with many different cemeteries as they were immigrants from Germany and mostly stayed in Buffalo but my Father's generation moved out to the suburbs and thus they began burying in the Hamburg area. Forest Lawn has a nice computer system which works very well on line and also when I went there they were able to give the exact location with 169 acres within minutes. I do not like to bother people because some people consider giving out the info to be a little repetitive. I understand that might be the case and so would highly recommend a computer system of some sorts for the public. I was given the 5 minutes which was all that I needed but was recommended that I send a list if I wanted any more genealogy by e-mail and there is no email available. My aunt whose husband was buried there had not been to the grave site and so I was attempting to help everybody. I did find it after I was given the info whereupon I went and took a picture as I was not down for his funeral 3 years ago. Because it was January 31, 2016 he was not buried that day. She, 87, will now be able to go and find it. She is to be buried beside him when she passes. Thank you for your time. It means so much more than you can ever know. When a person walks through that office door, the stories go much deeper than anyone can ever imagine.

They and their staff provided a comforting, personalized wake at the West Seneca location. My husband, who was a Viet Nam vet and later went on to work at and retire from VA in Buffalo, had what I'm sure he would have loved. The veteran and national honor provided was wonderful. I mentioned(and others agreed) that this was the perfect place for him to be remembered. The staff took care of everything down to the smallest detail to make this difficult time manageable and as stress free as was possible under the circumstances. They made sure every detail was done to our satisfaction and answered any questions we may have had. They offered advice and suggestions when requested, and we were unsure as to what to do but never pushed anything on us . Planning the final remembrance for a loved one is never easy but Lakeside showed compassion and professionalism throughout the entire time. I would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside in West Seneca to anyone who wants their final wishes for loved ones done perfectly. They could not have done anything better.

Mark's death was hard and Charles and the team were tentative to our needs, made us feel like family and welcomed us with open arms. As the youngest, it's hard to have to deal with loosing half of your family within 3 yrs of each other. I wish death would never happened, but Hamburg is blessed to have this funeral home to assist in your darkest hours.
