I love KAFN! It's a hip coffee shop in the middle of mellow Glendale in the Adam's Hill neighborhood. The first time I visited I ordered an iced soy Macha latte (half sweet) and it was so creamy and delicious, I have to order it every time I go. I tried their vegan banana bread with chocolate chips and it just melted in my mouth- so rich and flavorful. The vibe is very sweet and the crew are friendly and helpful. During the pandemic shut down they are still open for take-out. It's worth supporting them to keep them open! They are my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. read more

Small but super chill spot to just hangout for a coffee or tea break. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere had a very friendly neighborhood vibe. My sis and I both got the Glendale Foggy iced tea. So refreshing and lightly sweetened which was nice. This place is actually pretty far from where we live and just happened to be passing by and needed a place to rest for a bit. Cute coffee shop located in a strange area of Glendale. It's got all the hipster Silverlake/Los Feliz vibes without the crazy parking situation and squatters with their laptops. I came on a weekend for coffee with a friend. I was mostly intrigued by their unique latte selection and opted for Liquid Hansome, which has activated charcoal. I love that they only lightly sweeten it, and it didn't feel heavy. The only disappointment I had was the latte wasn't served in a mug, but a paper cup. I don't frequent coffee shops much so maybe that was my bad since I didn't specify I wanted a mug. Most of their customers seem to come and go as soon as their drink is ready. Next time... *** Five stars for food and service, BUT I have to mention something that happened. I should have said something at the moment but I didn't and felt bad. So I'm saying it now. As I was waiting for my coffee the owner or manager came in and closed the door that had been propped open. He then immediately started telling the workers, in full view and hearing of all the customers, that he's told them several times to keep the door closed, it's not hot enough to prop the door open, they need to listen to what he says, etcetera. The temperature was fine. Nobody looked uncomfortable. The door being open and letting some air into an otherwise slightly stuffy cafe was nice. As a serial employer of several successful businesses I had to post this in hopes the man that did this sees the review. If you need to speak to employees don't do it in front of customers. A very simple "door please guys" would have been sufficient. Also, treat your employees the best you possibly can. Happy employees will be far better workers and their happiness will come across to the customers. If you make them miserable that vibe will envelope your cafe and nobody will want to be there. Hopefully you take this to heart and can promote a better workplace. read more

Kafn (the trendy way of spelling caffeine, I take it) is a quaint little local spot in Adams Hill you probably only know about if you live around the corner or drive by frequently, situated in between a mini market and a currency exchange. It has stark white walls throughout and hanging vintage lighting. It used to have a decent amount of seating (mostly inside) but post-Covid is just for takeout. The staff is not overly chatty but always friendly. Menu is small, with the basics a a handful of specialties. I like their "vintage vanilla" and salted caramel lattes (hot or iced). I do wish they were stirred a little better by the staff but not a major complaint. Pricing is pretty standard. They also have a small selection of pastries daily (I recommend the blueberry muffins), some cool mugs for sale, and an odd array of three-eyed paintings lining the walls. Came across this coffee shop on my way to another place, and do not regret it. My friend got the Mayan Mocha and I got the Liquid Handsome with a shot of espresso. The service was prompt and friendly, and I love the low key atmosphere and good music. It looks across the street to a sweet mini park which is very tranquil. I will definitly be back for more! I really love how I get to slowly go through my Bookmarked restaurants/coffee shops. It's the best feeling ever! I came here with a friend today to catch up on life an all. First of all, the exterior is SUPER cute! Simple sign that says Kafn Adam Hill, and it's a small shop. Super cute on the outside, WAY nicer on the inside! White walls, really cool lighting, with some dark wooden high tables and chairs. Obviously, minimalistic vibes, and it's super Instagrammable! So worth! Their menu selection is pretty great! They have various different coffees, from your typical drip and caffe latte to your flavored lattes. Also, the names of their lattes are also really run to read. From your vintage vanilla (vanilla) to your mean matcha (matcha), it kind of gives the place an edge. The prices are a little high, and it can get pricy when you change the kind of milk you put in your drink. But, I really do think it's worth it. They also have a selection of pastries, which I have heard from the grapevine of Yelp that it's actually from Homeboy! Yes! Way to support a great organization! :) I got their vintage vanilla latte and my friend got their mean matcha latte along with their pastries (cookie and chocolate scone). I get vanilla latte's when I visit coffee shops because I believe you can really tell how great of a coffee shop is by their vanilla latte. But wow! Their vanilla latte is good! A little sweet, but an enhanced vanilla is definitely there. Their matcha is also really good! I also love how they have various kinds of milk you can put in your latte, from your almond milk (which I got and it was great) to their hemp milk. Their pastries were also great as well! I kind of wish they had the option of heating up the pastries to really help compliment the ice cold drinks. But other than that, really great! Service is really great! They really do a great job of maintaining the place, and it's really clean inside. They are super nice and chill as well. Parking is absolutely AMAZING here! Best tea of my life, best Coffee Cake I've EVER had. I literally won't be able to eat any other kind of coffee cake ever. It just won't match up. They also have this fantastic, rare, exotic selection of non caffeinated teas (I'm strange, I know it's weird, I don't like caffeine. But like they totally had options for me anyway) and as a Tea snob, let's just say I was impressed. I will literally drive to Glendale for that Coffee Cake and Ginger/Cinnamon/Cloves/Lavender Tea.
