Had a great experience at Kagawa Guys! The waitress recommended the Tokyo Deluxe with Japanese Curry, and I'm so glad she did. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the recommendation was spot-on. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. There was a wait as this place is a small and intimate setting but we were seated within 25 minutes on a Friday night. Definitely a place I'd come back to and would recommend to anyone looking for a great Japanese meal

No signs of restaurant name outside of plaza. Walked into celebrate catering to find it. Seating is based on first come first service bases. There's a clipboard to write your party name and size then server will seat you. Very small inside with limited seating so plan ahead. It was my first time trying this famous Japanese dish and I thought it was okay. Online I notice that the egg was a lot softer and when cut through it didn't open up like I excepted. Overall, I thought the taste was good and the service was too. Order 3 different dishes to try: 1.Tokyo style with fluffy omelette, half n half sauce - Demi glaze and curry. Loved the curry sauce more because it was sweeter. Demi glaze reminds me of a barbecue sauce like taste. Both very good combo 7/10 2. Tokyo style braised short rib with fluffy omelette. Loved this dish a lot! The meat fell off the bone. Wish it was made with curry sauce instead but overall very well balanced dish. 8/10 3. Tokyo Carbonara with fluffy omelette - thought it was okay. Flavor was creamy when fresh then after felt like it was very dry with no flavor. My least favorite out of the three. 6/10

3.5 stars rounded down to a 3 and here's why... I really wanted to love this place and give it a rave review, but I'm torn!! After seeing the hype on social media, I was excited to try it out with a fellow Elite! We both ordered the same thing, but everything on the menu looked good. You can add cheese or different sauces to your dish for a few extra bucks, but we didn't. So when you're driving up to find this place, it's a hole in the wall with no actual signage out front. As long as you see the Goodwill, you're in the right shopping center. It's closer to the AutoZone. Anyway, upon entry you'll find a U-shaped dining room where only about 20 diners can enjoy a meal. They also don't take reservations so it's a first come, first served basis. We waited maybe 5 minutes before we were seated. When our Tokyo Style Fluffy Omelet with Braised Short Rib arrived, we were excited but nervous to cut into it. There's an instruction sheet that tells you step by step how to cut and enJOY your Omurice. What it doesn't tell you is NOT to cut through the egg!! What you want to do is cut ONLY the top layer ever so slightly so as not to disturb the "fluffy" egg that's supposed to drape over your rice. If you cut all the way through the egg, you will end up with (let me just say it straight up... you be the judge from my pic, lol) a v_ g looking egg!!! LOL I'm sorry, I know you can't unsee my pics!!! That being said, the short rib didn't seem to be "braised." I have braised short ribs myself and the meat pretty much falls off the bone. Although the dish itself was flavorful, the meat was not as tender as a braised beef dish should be. I ate all of mine, but it was not the experience I had hoped for. I realize they just opened about a month ago, so I'm going to sit back and let them work out some kinks. I am all for supporting local small businesses and I really want this place to thrive. My first time here wasn't the best, but I do intend to return in the future. I'd also like to add that we weren't the only patrons who were disappointed. Our egg was slightly overcooked which is why we didn't get the full "egg draping" experience. The guy next to us did it right and his egg was definitely not as cooked as ours! Service wasn't bad. There was only one lady serving everyone, but I think a second person could make it better. She was nice. They also were limited on drinks. I asked for a Sprite but all they had was Diet Coke. They do give you tap water but no ice. I ended up with a sparkling water. Prices aren't astronomical and there's ample parking. Just be sure to look for the little white lantern when you roll up. I hope your "eggsperience" is better than mine!

This review is meant to be constructive while also understanding they have been open only a month or so. After seeing a reel on IG, I was so excited to finally try this Japanese omelette with a friend. If my friend wouldn't have given me a heads up of the unmarked restaurant front, I wouldn't have found it. It's not easy to see or know where their door is (tip- there's a lantern hanging in front of the door). Positives: The menu had many entree items that looked delicious and the prices seemed reasonable. The table area was pretty cool and has a Japanese feel to it. Constructive Criticism & Observations: The instructions of how to cut the omelette were made wrong and tells you to cut it in the wrong direction (confirmed by the employee when asked). We asked specifically for instructions on how to cut it since we didn't want to mess it up too. The omelette I got (and several others got) were overcooked and didn't have runny insides. We informed the server, no remedy was offered. That's the whole reason for coming here is the proper cook and experience. The advertised braised ribs did not seem to be braised. They were hard and overcooked. Mine had barely any meat in it. The customer service overall is lacking significantly. There didn't seem to be any care, concern, or attempt to "make it right" or re do the egg to have the experience we were enticed by online. I would not recommend the short ribs based on this experience. Another customer for 2 ribs and way more meat on theirs along with a perfectly cooked egg. This also shows quality control with portions and meat portions aren't currently present. There are other items that looked good like the pasta and hamburger patty. I would consider giving them another try but not until it's been a while and improvements in customer service and quality control are seen by other's experiences. I hope this is taken as intended and improvements and care for the customer's food and experience are considered.

We went there during their soft opening. The place smells like old wood but looks like a Japanese restaurant inside. I had the wagyu burger steak and my wife had the regular omurice. The omurice was cooked nicely but it was cool quickly. The sauce was great! They used brown rice instead of fried rice. The burger was delicious. My wife said the beef smelled a little but I didn't smell it. The sauce with the burger was amazing. The rice in the sauce with the corn was delicious. My only complaint was they served it in tin foil instead of directly on the iron. Service was good. Will definitely try again.

Kagawa Guys Tokyo Delux Combo Omurice did not fold out after cutting the omelet topping center. The Wagyu Blend Hamburger Steak was on the tougher side than what I expected from Wagyu Beef, Demi-Glace Gravy Sauce was good, just needed alot more. https://youtube.com/shorts/V5WocgxL-i4?is=9EPBEMp32CXW9Z3F There are only about 13 seats in the U shape table with one waitress, we arrived at 4:50 pm for the 5 pm Thursday opening, the 3 of us were seated right away. Trying to find the place is an adventure drove by it 3 times, then saw the address and suite 3 so I parked and walked to suite 6 where there was a white paper lantern. Would have liked to try the Ramen, but not on a 110 degree day. Traditional Japanese Decor and typical Japanese seating were there is not very big in quantity number of seats Little disappointed in the Omurice Wagyu was not as tender as expected and egg omelet did not open as does in Japan

Went to the soft opening week for Kagawa guys after seeing pictures of the food and I'm very happy they opened a location in Mesa. They are apart of the same ramen spot, Ramen Kagawa in downtown Phoenix and they deliver amazing food. Kagawa Guys is a smaller restaurant with a very Japanese designed restaurant that delivers amazing food and service. I was very drawn to the Yokohama Tonkotsu Ramen and the Tokyo deluxe combo. First the Ramen was exactly what we needed in Mesa. The chasu has a nice soy marinade and thick cut that pretty much all the ramen places in the area don't do. The broth was a nice deep flavor with pretty solid noodles. I was very impressed and I feel this is the best ramen in the valley. They have other ramen that are going to be on the menu or have specials throughout the week. For the Tokyo Deluxe Combo, it was an amazing dish with and incredible demi glaze sauce. The Waygu paddy with the soft, fluffy omelette on top of the rice was amazing. Very filling, but an incredible dish. I'll say this is the best Ramen you will find in Mesa and a good chance in the valley. It's very authentic to Japan in many ways. Excellent restaurant and can't wait to go back

Ramen Kagawa has opened a sister location specializing in omurice and I'm all for it. It's quite rare to have that dish (besides Korean style in Asiana) in the valley. Since I went during their soft opening, understands there's no signage and most likely kinks are being ironed out etc. The interior has a U-shaped bar style seating so there may be difficulty getting large parties seated. I ordered the delux which features the wagyu patty steak, and the omelette with demiglace over rice. The beef was flavorful and sauce was great. The egg was cooked perfectly in a custard and curdle mix. Service was great and friendly. I've been dining at their ramen restaurant in downtown for years as a go to lunch spot for work so I knew this place would not disappoint.

Had my first ever omurice here! Of course I cut thru it even though there were clear instructions. Honestly really enjoyed the food. The potato gratin was super creamy and delicious. And the omurice was unlike anything I've had before. Anna was awesome. Showed up 30 minutes before close but they were super hospitable. The food was priced so reasonably. Only around 10-12 seats so it sort of reminded me of midnight diner. Would definitely come back

We came here for the first time after moving here few days ago. We'ved heard that the line can get super crazy on weekend even if they've just opened few months ago so we decided to come on Tuesday night and the line was totally acceptable. Just 1 group ahead of us. They only have 16-17 seat so we kind of understand why the line can go that crazy. However, the food came out pretty fast and they were amazing!! Since I've learnt the lesson from the a chef when I was in Japan that the fluffy omelette can get more cooked by itself from the trapped heat inside the egg, I was so excited to cut it right after we got served, and it didn't fail us at all. The omelette were literally fluffy and creamy! Oh, and the Wagyu Blend Hamburg Steak was really satisfying in terms of the size. They give you a generous portion! Would difinitely coming back to try the short rib! Recommended : Wagyu Blend Linguine Tokyo Deluxe Combo

This was my first time trying Omurice, but it won't be my last! It was really, really good. I definitely recommend. I would skip the pasta. But the Ramen looked and smelled so good. I can't wait to go back and try that!

such a cute, unique spot in az. the inside has limited seating so there might be a wait depending on what time you go but the food is great. if you've never had omurice or hamburg before, this is the place to try it!! my friends who have visited japan before all say it reminds them of their time there :)

We came during the soft opening and were the only ones there! The space is small but the layout is super thoughtful in a U shape which reminds me of Asia. Our server was so kind. We got the tonkotsu ramen and the omurice with Hamburg steak. The egg was perfect! We cut into it and it plopped on the rice perfectly. The ramen was also super flavorful and we added an egg. We're definitely going to be back. So happy a omurice place exists in Phoenix!

Craving Noodles and bookmarked Daruma Ramen based on Elite & All Star reviews by Betty j., Kendall N., Lucy L., and Samantha N thank-you guys! Parking 4/5 The restaurant is small and located on the west end of the strip mall. Arrived approximately 3pm. Not a peak meal time the parking lot was very busy due to numerous business in the strip mall sharing the parking lot. A few trips around the lot snagged up a spot as someone was leaving. Atmosphere 4/5 Rating based on a small kitchen/Dining room business. Approximately 8-10 two seat tables. TV on the wall no decor, clean and sufficient. Service 5/5 Service today was by Mireya. She asked if this was our first visit, which it was and she thoughtfully covered their menu by reviewing starters, salad, Roman and noodles dishes like Yukasoba as well as beverages. The shared sampling order: 1green Tea. 1 Hot Tea. 1 Cucumber salad (shareable size). 1 Yukasoba. 1 Sapporo Meso Butter Ramen. 1 Spicy #5 Mayu Tonkotsu Ramen. Mireya got our orders in, and returned with the drinks and cucumber salad. The entrees came out in succession and the table filled quickly! She was very organized checked on us frequently and also had to go containers ready when we called it quits. An almost complete Yukasoba and half a Ramen came home. Food 10/5 Everything was fresh and delicious. I've never been to or had Ramens like this before. Amazing would be an understatement. The broth in the spicy dish was I would enjoy by itself. Spicy #5 was mild by my standards and wouldn't mind a bit more heat. The noodles were very nice and the cabbage was cut to size and skillet browned slightly before adding it into the dish. Mushroom added great texture and flavor. Both Ramens came with pork which was two thinly sliced pork chops. They were tender and took on some of the broths flavor, the pork quality was excellent! The Yukasoba is something I have fairly often however theirs was the best I've experienced. The pork was different in this dish, small diced pieces and the texture was soft perhaps a lower quality of meat with higher fat content which really excelled in the Yukasoba. The restaurant appeared busy all hours and had a continuous stream departures and arrivals. It fair to say the restaurant is small, a bit difficult to find your first visit and it may not be glamorous but you would miss out on some special food if you didn't give them a try! This was a great experience for us and we will be back. Daruma Ramen my friends-SYOY!

The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, the music wasn't too loud, and they even had the FIFA World Cup on the TVs, which made for a fun place to sit and eat. If you order one of the sizzling plates, it comes with a bowl of miso soup. The miso was really good and didn't have that overly fishy flavor that some places have. We also tried the fried pork dumplings, which were pretty standard potstickers, but they were done well. The sweet and sour dipping sauce had just a tiny bit of spice that made it a little more interesting. The pork soup bao were another good choice, with plenty of filling and really good flavor. I ordered the Wagyu sizzling plate, and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. It comes out on an extremely hot plate, which gives some of the rice a nice crispy texture. Everything was cooked well, and the overall flavor was really good. The service was excellent too. There were two servers taking care of the dining room, and both were friendly, answered our questions, and stayed on top of refilling our water throughout the meal. First, Sizzling House sits around a plethora of amazing food options in the Mesa Asian District. It is a small eatery and very casual. We started with the dumplings and karage. These were where the rating dropped. I didn't find anything memorable about either... My friend ordered the tokontsu ramen with think noodles. I had a taste, and while I'd order it if wanting ramen, this was what I expect of good ramen. It hit the right notes on taste and the noodle s were cooked well, just nothing that would make me perk up if someone wanted to get ramen. The highlight, which would have made this a debate between 4 and 5 stars, and which I will go back for (already excited!), was the sizzling Angus beef plate with thick udon noodles. This was one of the better dishes I have had of late, and I am glad I got extra beef and opted for the black pepper sauce. The thinly sliced beef with the thick udon noodles was a perfect pairing, and I ate this much faster than I meant to, not leaving any leftovers despite the add ons. Food came out quick. Staff was friendly.

My oh Maisen Katsu!…read more It's been a while since I ate at the H-Mart market eatery food hall, and not for lack of trying. I've been to H-Mart a couple times recently and wanted to eat there but it was closed, I went too late. Today I went for lunch-- And I'm glad I did, it was SO delicious. The food hall was busy on Thursday around noon, however still plenty of open seating available for me. Sometimes on the weekend you might be waiting for people to finish before finding a spot. Today was easy, peasy. My food was quick, took around 10 minutes. The orders were flying out of the katsu kitchen!! They call it out and you can see on a small monitor when your number is ready. I walked around the food stalls before deciding I wanted katsu. I'm very happy with my choice. The person in front of me was picking up their order and it looked really good. So I copied them-- #8 cheese katsu!! The woman taking orders was very friendly and helpful. I told her I would eat there but wouldn't finish it due to big portions so I tried to order it to go, she advised I get it regular and then box up the leftovers. She was so right! The presentation alone is fun like fajitas and she said it's all packaged separately when ordered for take out. Great tip from her. She could have just let me do that but she understood what I had told her. I chose the pork katsu, you can get chicken also. The #8 dish is served with katsu sauce/gravy, and mozzarella cheese sizzling on a skillet. On the side is rice and cabbage, and a clear broth. It was absolute heaven. This is a very decadent dish with all the cheese and sauce. And it changes the texture of the katsu, I could tell it was crispy but it also was covered in cheesy goodness so less crispy than the other katsu options. On the bottom of the skillet is the most crunchy cheese bits that you can scrape off to get that fried cheese goodness. And the portion was big, 2 pieces of meat! Enough that I had half of it to take home. This is definitely enough to share. Next time I'll try the katsu & udon combo or the katsu sando so that I get more of the crispy katsu texture. The cheese version is more smothered and covered, but very yummy though! On the menu they also have noodle dishes with soba, ramen, and udon. I can't speak on those since I didn't try them. There are lots of other noodle options in the food hall though, so I would definitely recommend getting the katsu, and if you also want noodles, the combo option. I'll definitely come back to this food stall when craving some katsu.
