My wife and I saw the all the positive reviews on yelp for this place and wanted to give it a try . We are not well versed on ramen but understand how popular it is. When we arrived , they were pretty busy. It is a pretty small place so I'm sure it fills up fast. We were immediately greeted with a smile. We were shown to a table and given our menus. My wife loves edamame so she had to get the edamame sticks. They were so GOOD! We also ordered the crispy Goyza's. They were good, but nothing super special. Our ramen bowls were good but I guess I thought all the bowls came with a broth, but they don't. That was my fault. We will go back again so I can try the ramen "in broth". The only thing I didn't like, the soda was served in a can. No glass, ice, or straw. I don't like drinking out of a can and I do like it over ice. :) That's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
Great place for a delicious lunch/dinner. The restaurant was very clean, well maintained and the staff were friendly and polite. The starters and ramen were very delicious too and I would definitely recommend this place!
Hands down my favorite ramen so far. The flavors are rich and consistent. Be wary of the spice levels. I enjoy spicy food but I definitely wouldn't go up to a 5 at this particular location. I appreciate the heat of the pepper(s) to each bowl. My go-to order is the kimchi ramen bowl substitute tofu. Flavors are consistent whether it's in-house dining, to-go or delivery.

Came here spontaneously with my sister as we were in the area. Didn't have any expectations but the server was friendly & made sure to check on us. There was plenty of seating inside and it was nice and clean. We both got the spicy tonkatsu ramen and did the level 2 slice. We were told it's similar to hot Cheetos spice level so we both confidently knew we could handle it. I could probably do level 3 next time. The broth was tasty and i love that they char the pork. The soft boiled egg was cooked to perfection as well. It was a pleasant surprise and I would come back if I were in the area again!
Came for dinner today and it was great! I got the kimchi ramen and it was delicious! I also got the cucumber salad which I really like. The ramen had excellent flavor. I think all the ramen here is very good. I don't like super spicy foods but you can order it on a range from one to five if you want it really hot. Our food came reasonably fast. It was busy when we arrived but then it cleared out. When we left a few more people were coming in.
Love this place, always a hit! Our usual location in Dobson Rd but so excited to have one right around the corner. Sushi is great but the real deal is the Ramen and the gyozas! This location is a lot smaller then the Dobson location but still really cute and simple. The service never fails. Both locations we have had exceptional service.
This location is featured in Yelp's Top 100 Ramen Shops 2025 (According to Yelp Reviewers). Any time Yelp has a list, I'm always trying to check out the ones in the Phoenix area near me. My fellow Yelpers are always supporting local and have some of the best suggestions, so I invited two friends to go along with me to try on Boxing Day (day after Christmas). Upon arrival, I noticed it was a small location and parking was a bit tricky with the Discount Tire sharing the parking lot. The place was packed 30 minutes after opening, but easy to do with the size of the location. There are 8 tables (24 seats), so this place fills up quickly. No worries as I'm always willing to wait for good food, but wanted to note so others can plan ahead. What We Ordered: - Garlic Edamame - Cucumber Salad - Gyoza - Chicken Fried Rice - Mayu Tonkotsu Ramen - Shio Chicken Ramen Overall, we were fairly happy with all the food. Though my ramen was pretty oily, but that could be a me thing as typically I eat a vegetarian ramen. My friend remarked it looked more oily than hers, and was a little odd comparative to other ramen we've had before. Still had a great flavor, and I'd definitely return to try a different version. Definitely get the garlic edamame every visit as it's some of the best I've ever add - perfect flavor and crunch! If you are in the area and craving ramen, check out this location!
Can I give a 10 star? Cause this is some of the best ramen I've ever had. We saw the reviews for this place so we wanted to check it out. I will tell yall it's a small place. It can fill up fast but everything. There was perfect. The server was super nice quick and helpful. We even had the manager come up and help with the menu for recommendations. They do have two location This location is known for the ramen and noodles. Now the best part, the ramen itself was so flavorful. I got the Mayu tonkotsu ramen and it had the best broth I've ever had. Paired with the black garlic oil. And the pork for it. Chefs kiss. We even saw a regular who said out loud he's there every Sunday and as soon as he sat down the server just said his order and the regular smile and thanked him for remembering. Come to this place. I know we are coming back to taste more of the delicious food

Even though it seems busy, the staff is always very helpful about menu items or suggestions for new guests, and I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. tldr popular ramen spot serving up affordable ramen that needs some improvement on broth but has friendly service and clean setting i have really high expectations with ramen and unfortunately daruma did not meet them. the key component is a great broth and daruma's broth was really weak in flavor without much depth in pork flavor or its supposed miso flavoring. partner got classic tonkatsu and i got the spicy miso butter ramen. classic tonkatsu had a strong garlic flavor which masked the weak pork broth but was better than the spicy miso ramen. the spicy miso broth had barely any miso flavor. the toppings and noodles are what saved the dishes. the egg noodles itself was plentiful, bouncy, fresh, and tasty. they also provided a lot of solid toppings - bean sprouts, egg, grilled charsu. unfortunately, broth makes and breaks ramen so i would not recommend. the cucumber salad and gyoza were standard. i liked that the cucumbers were sliced thin to absorb the marinate better. gyoza seem to be the standard frozen ones that were fried. i did like the dipping sauce though. the restaurant seem very new and clean. service was really friendly so it was just a bit unfortunate that the flavors were not up to par. overall, i will not be coming back to eat here but hope that they can improve on broth as everything else seems solid! food 3/5 service 4/5 ambiance 3.75/5 value 3.5/5
First time trying this place and I ordered it to go. Everything was really good. At first, I thought the crispy tuna rice portions were a little too big. When I opened the box and saw there were only four, I was like wow, that's it? But the pieces are actually huge, so it ends up being worth the price. That said, I think the flavor balance would be even better if they made the pieces slightly smaller and served six instead. I also got the udon soup, which was great. Just a classic udon, and you really can't go wrong with that. Service was quick and efficient, and when I walked in to pick up my order, the restaurant had a darker, cozy ambiance that I liked. Overall, a solid experience and I'd definitely go back.

Craving Noodles and bookmarked Daruma Ramen based on Elite & All Star reviews by Betty j., Kendall N., Lucy L., and Samantha N thank-you guys! Parking 4/5 The restaurant is small and located on the west end of the strip mall. Arrived approximately 3pm. Not a peak meal time the parking lot was very busy due to numerous business in the strip mall sharing the parking lot. A few trips around the lot snagged up a spot as someone was leaving. Atmosphere 4/5 Rating based on a small kitchen/Dining room business. Approximately 8-10 two seat tables. TV on the wall no decor, clean and sufficient. Service 5/5 Service today was by Mireya. She asked if this was our first visit, which it was and she thoughtfully covered their menu by reviewing starters, salad, Roman and noodles dishes like Yukasoba as well as beverages. The shared sampling order: 1green Tea. 1 Hot Tea. 1 Cucumber salad (shareable size). 1 Yukasoba. 1 Sapporo Meso Butter Ramen. 1 Spicy #5 Mayu Tonkotsu Ramen. Mireya got our orders in, and returned with the drinks and cucumber salad. The entrees came out in succession and the table filled quickly! She was very organized checked on us frequently and also had to go containers ready when we called it quits. An almost complete Yukasoba and half a Ramen came home. Food 10/5 Everything was fresh and delicious. I've never been to or had Ramens like this before. Amazing would be an understatement. The broth in the spicy dish was I would enjoy by itself. Spicy #5 was mild by my standards and wouldn't mind a bit more heat. The noodles were very nice and the cabbage was cut to size and skillet browned slightly before adding it into the dish. Mushroom added great texture and flavor. Both Ramens came with pork which was two thinly sliced pork chops. They were tender and took on some of the broths flavor, the pork quality was excellent! The Yukasoba is something I have fairly often however theirs was the best I've experienced. The pork was different in this dish, small diced pieces and the texture was soft perhaps a lower quality of meat with higher fat content which really excelled in the Yukasoba. The restaurant appeared busy all hours and had a continuous stream departures and arrivals. It fair to say the restaurant is small, a bit difficult to find your first visit and it may not be glamorous but you would miss out on some special food if you didn't give them a try! I got the spicy ramen bowl with level 5 spice. I think next time i'll try it at a 2 or 3 as the level 5 spice made the ramen kinda oily? It was a nice amount of heat at 5 though! I also ordered some appetizers and they were pretty yummy. Gyoza was nice and crispy. read more

4.5 We stopped by after seeing it recommended on TikTok as one of the closest ramen spots to authentic Japanese-style ramen, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant is small, clean, and very casual, with about eight tables and alternative music playing in the background. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu (level 2), my husband had the Spicy Tonkotsu (level 1), and our son ended up eating two bowls of udon, which says everything. We all agreed the ramen was excellent--honestly even better than a spot we really liked in San Diego. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the service and pricing. Drinks came in cans for around $2.50 each, and we had to flag the waitress down for a second udon order and a soda refill (another can). The ramen was delicious and filling, but the portions looked a little small compared to the size of the bowls and the price. Overall, if you're craving great ramen in the Tempe area, this place is absolutely worth trying. We'd definitely come back for the ramen. read more

I was shocked to see a place rated 4.9 stars, but I now see why. The place has bench tables, and made the most of their space. I ordered the Japanese carbonated melon drink, I had no clue how to open it. The gentleman that brought me the drink, patiently showed me how to use it. It about blew up on me, but it's probably due to user error aka me. I ordered the sui gyoza and the tonkatsu ramen with chicken and bean sprouts added. The broth for the sui gyoza was phenomenal!! I actually wish I could take home a large cup of the broth! Best broth I've had! There was something else in it, I made sure to mix it before trying it. My ramen was also very very good, I was so full when I left!! Definitely coming back! read more
We tried three different types of Ramen, gyoza, chicken fried rice and cucumber salad! Wow 10/10! 100/10! The Kimchi Ramen is out of this world! I'll be dreaming of the cucumber salad forever! Everything was so flavorful and incredible. The service was incredible! Shout out to James! This is the kind of service that makes an incredible meal a magnificent one. We have lived near Daruma for a year now and we decided we wanted ramen for lunch and we pass this place everyday. We got there early like right at open we sat by the window. The waiter was so nice and he genuinely cared about our experience. He recommended different items, spice levels, and appetizers. Everything was so yummy and so fresh. I got the Sapporo Miso Butter Ramen level 2 spice, it was the perfect balance. I will be going here often and bringing new people when I do come back. Everyone should try it. read more

Finally found my go to for spicy ramen that's close to home! I ordered the Mayu Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen and water. I saw a bottle of lychee fruit juice. I was very tempted but my sugar levels easily soar so definitely having noodles for my carb wins!! My large bowl of deliciousness was AMAZING!! I asked for level 2 and it was perfect for me. The 2 pieces of thick cut pork belly was very flavorful, ample ramen, the thinly sliced mushrooms ( next time I would want more), egg, etc. The flavorful broth and all its goodies literally warmed my heart!! You hear horror stories of slow service when you're the only patron in the restaurant (late lunch at 1:30) but I received immediate attention followed by timely delivery of food. Simple, very clean restaurant behind the Burger King so don't miss it. You will not be disappointed. Will I return - OF COURSE!! Sooner than later read more

Was looking for a good local ramen place and this is it! Totally agree with all the great reviews. Worth the HYPE! I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen and my fiancé got the spicy miso ramen.so tasty and flavorful! I loved both! We dined in and it was a fun little date night! Absolutely go, you will thank yourself later! Overall service was great, and the food better! read more

We were looking for a new sushi place and we have found it! Went on a Thursday and they have happy hour prices all day mon-thursday all day. Their regular prices aren't that bad either though. We got a lot of the basic rolls, vegas roll, crunch roll....it was all amazing! The staff is friendly and on top of refilling drinks. We will definitely be back cant wait to try the rest of their menu! read more

Absolutely delicious ramen. I've had a lot of ramen over the years, and this was hands down some of the best I've had. We ordered to go, and I really appreciated how thoughtfully it was packaged -- the broth was in a separate container from the noodles, chashu, and toppings. By the time we got home, everything was still hot, the noodles weren't mushy at all, and the broth was absolutely perfect. The portions were great, with a wonderful balance of all the ingredients. Not a single complaint... I ate the entire bowl. The restaurant itself is quaint, so if you go during dinner hours, expect there may be a wait -- but it is 100% worth it. Most delicious ramen I've had, and I will absolutely be back!!! read more

Came here after craving ramen just 24 hours after my wisdom teeth surgery, and it was so worth it! The restaurant was small and cozy, and even though it was full when we arrived, we only waited about 15 minutes before being seated. The ambiance is cute, welcoming, and friendly. The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the kimchi ramen, and it was absolutely perfect. Flavorful broth, and the pork was so soft that even I could manage it post-surgery. Every (slightly painful) chew was worth it. Definitely looking forward to coming back, especially as the weather gets colder! read more
My husband was craving ramen so we did a quick search, and we decided to check out Daruma based on the positive reviews. To start this is a very small place with limited seating situated in a shopping plaza, but don't let that deter you. We were the first customers in on a Sunday for lunch but it didn't take long for almost all the tables to be filled. Service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed gyoza to start that was nice and crispy. I had the Spicy Sapporo Miso Butter Ramen, I did enjoy this but wished I would have picked a higher spice level. My husband got the Mayu Tonkotsu Ramen- this broth was to die for, I will definitely be getting it next time but adding some more spice. Daruma Ramen and Bowl 2650 E University Dr #107, Mesa, AZ 85213 I had a wonderful massage with Tanya Dee, and by 3:00 PM, I was ready for a late lunch. If you're looking for an amazing massage, definitely reach out to Tanya! Since Daruma was just a few stores down from Tanya, I decided to give it a try. I ordered their cucumber salad and a spicy mayo tonkotsu ramen. The cucumber salad was refreshing, with crisp cucumbers, although the dressing had a unique aftertaste. As for the ramen, while the broth didn't quite meet my expectations, the noodles were delightfully chewy. I appreciated the char flavor of the pork, which added a nice touch. Will I return? I love my massages from Tanya, but I might explore a different restaurant next time. I felt my $32 could have been better spent today. read more

yes! this place was delicious! Overall we would say around a 4.6 but the service was amazing and brought it up to a 5! I got the Spicy Tonkatsu ramen - level 4, it was perfectly spicy for me without being too spicy. My mom and SIL thought it was a good spice level but wouldn't have ordered it for themselves. I personally didn't like the pork chashu, it was not as flavorful and wasn't the typically melt in your mouth soft. We also got the miso ramen and yakisoba, both were tasty and flavorful. The gyoza was crispy and tasted good, we would ordered it again. Overall, this is a great spot and as well worth the price. Would come back! read more
