I appreciate that he took the time to clean thoroughly and also explain what was going on in the photos so I can better understand. Our new system was not cooling as well as it should, so we called Kahn air for an appointment and they sent out Ariel and Phil. The guys were very professional-- they and took lots of measurements and gathered data and realized that our system needed some extra refrigerant. They came with that later the same day and now our system is working great! My AC unit (single family home) was working fine but blowing air that was not cool. The company I normally use was unavailable so I called Kahn. Quote was over 13K. Over $13,000. Said I needed to replace the unit and a coil (told me the coil was ok when they were here, I guess they forgot). Later that day another company charged me $250 to replace a part and for their service call and, almost ten days later, the AC is working just fine. We have been Kahn customers for more than 20 years and we've always been very satisfied with the professional and friendly service technicians who come for our bi-annual HVAC check up. They mask, wear booties and leave the areas they work in cleaner than when they arrived. Gil has always been wonderful and today, I met Emmith, who was equally excellent. He let us know that all the systems were in great shape with one exception. The blower wheel needed cleaning-- without which the quality of our home air would have declined. I appreciated that while he showed us a photo of the wheel, (and it wasn't a pretty picture!), he put no pressure on us to act on the situation right away. He offered a quote for us to consider and said we could call the office to arrange for the work to be done. In this heat, we wanted no AC issues, so we asked Emmith to do the work right away and he obliged- working carefully and expertly. read more

Crooks, guilty of attempted elder abuse! After years of paying for their service/maintenance contract, they inspected my 90 year old Mom's system and told me it was showing signs of imminent failure: "Rusted and cracked evap coil", "soft spots" on the furnace heat exchanger tubing that could lead to carbon monoxide in the home, a fan motor "rusted out and leaking oil", the condenser "pulling high amps" and therefore going to fail. They recommended replacing the entire system for a "discounted" price of $24,000!! These scare tactics and dire warnings had my Mom worried and resigned to having to pay. After he delivered a well rehearsed speech about all this, he asked me "SO, what do you think?" - as if it was a negotiation and he was a used car salesman trying to assess my finances. After I called my trusted local guy for a second opinion, he found NONE of these symptoms, told me fan motors have NO oil, and noted that the system simply needed some coolant. Total repair: $500 I am disgusted with Kahn, (or should it be "CON"?), and will never trust them. read more

Kahn Air installed whole new system in July and all worked well during AC season. When using the heating system, noticed that thermostat was not working properly. Called Kahn when my heater died. Service tech came out same day and quickly said the unit was dead and I needed a brand new one. I knew that was a possibility. He had a supervisor come out after about 30 minutes so give me a quote. The supervisor quoted me $35,831 for a new AC/heater unit. I nearly collapsed and the supervisor even said "are you sitting down"? He then kept adding discounts and came down to $25,286. I just felt something wasn't right. So I said thank you and said I'd let him know later that day. By the end of the day, he dropped the price to an even $20,000 if I signed a contract that night. I still didn't feel right and declined. Luckily I began asking neighbors and one had a company they trusted. I called that company and the owner came out. He ended up doing the job for $13,000. I saved $22,831 ($35,831 - $13,000) by not rushing into the pressure from Kahn and instead checking around and getting a better price and excellent service. My 2-zone A/C condenser's fan started to turn on and off about a week ago so no cold air was running throughout my home during a heat wave. I work from home in my 2nd floor office and it was about 84°, which made it very hard to focus on anything. Kahn AC quickly responded to my online appointment request, sent out a tech (Ronnie) the next day to diagnose the problem and Dan provided a work proposal later that same day. My coil needed to be replaced due to a leak, however, when the problem still persisted, Kahn was incredibly attentive and sent over techs (Ronnie & Gil) to resolve the additional problem. I am signing up for Kahn's biannual maintenance plan as their customer service and technical proficiency is second to none, highly recommend! read more

Our heating was just serviced by Gilberto from Kahn Air Conditioning, and he has been servicing you Air Conditioning and Heating for several years, there really is not enough to be said about his outstanding work. Gil looks over every aspect of the units and shows us that he is a technician, that loves his job and is an outstanding representative of Kahn Air Conditioning. Gil is professional, and personable. He suggested that our heading unit needed a new filter, which he replaced. I noticed that is certainly was time, when he took to time to show me the old filter. Each time we have out Air Conditioning and Heating serviced we ask for Gil, whom we have a great deal of trust and know that if something needs servicing, repair or replacement that we trust him to be telling the us a factual statement. I used them for years and trusted them only to find that they had been ripping us off. We signed up for their maintenance plan and through the years they didn't clean what they were supposed to clean to keep our air conditioning unit in proper shape. They recently came out and said we needed a new air conditioning unit after only 12 years and the coil needed to be replaced. They quoted us with a deal $12,000. We got other quotes and it turns out we don't need a new air conditioning unit, we only needed on part and they person did it for free and we replaced the coil which was for 1/4 of what they were going to charge us! We spoke to other friends and they said they call them CON air! read more

I have had a service contract with Kahn A/c for many years. Eric Sanders came for my spring maintenance and he found some serious problems with my unit. Eric very patiently explained the problems and showed me photos of what was going on. [My unit is on the roof of my home] After discussing the potential costs of repairs with me, Eric phoned his Supervisor, Henry Reth. Henry was there within the hour. After more discussion I agreed it was time to replace the unit. I signed the contract and Henry gave me an installation date for two days later. We called them out because our heater stop working end of November. They said they where going to order pieces and office would get back to us with an update and price. It is now Dec. 26 still no update or phone call from anyone. I have been trying to call them all month long and it seems they don't pick up their calls. I have called numbers that end in 2181, 2600 and 5041. A hour later of holding, I get a thank you for calling and music but never get to speak to a human before it just hangs up on me. I can't express how infuriating and frustrating this lousy company is. Don't waste you time or even bother with this unpleasant and unprofessional company. read more
