Service consists of one lovely waitress who is diligent at her job and kind. I've tried this place twice now (last summer and now recently) and cannot agree that the food is good. Everything is made cheaply and then sold at triple the price. In my opinion, no burger should be sold at $15 or over and come without fries or anything on the side. Even at the bougier places around here you will still be given a side or an option to upgrade to fries for a couple dollars. Here that is not the case. Menu needs adjustments and maybe more people would come, but for now it just isn't that good. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. This pathetic burger alone cost $15.99. It was tiny, dried out, overcooked, and in an old smooshed bun. It tasted like it had sat in a food warmer all day. Not good service even though it was 2:30 in the afternoon and there was only one other table. We sat outside and the server took our order and dropped off the food, then never came back. Our table had no napkin dispenser and we had to hunt one down on our own inside, and when we were finished we had to request our check inside at the Togo counter. I recommend you go across the street to McCloone's Pier House where you can pay less $$$ and get a fresh cooked burger that includes fries, good service, and a nice view of the beach. read more

I came hungry and had high expectations but unfortunately Kahuna fell short. I had Buffalo chicken with onion rings and the chicken was tasty and onion rings fine. My daughter had chicken tenders and fries. Fries were delicious and chicken ok. Lastly, my husband had pulled pork and fries. Fries were still delicious and pulled pork ok. We ended up here because they were open, no wait and reasonable prices. The food was ok but I'd probably rather try other options before returning. read more

First time we tried out this place. The location and ambiance were inviting, so we went for a Kahuna classic and a Uahi burger. Food: basic, slightly burned bun, small patty, plain, not many seasonings and had to ask for cheese as a supplement . Not worth 15$ A burger and a heartburn!! However, it took at least 20 minutes to be greeted and we only got greeted because we had to wave down someone. The employees are very nice, but the food is mediocre. I ordered the Caesar salad with a side of fries, and they forgot my side. Wasn't annoyed by this as it was busy and it happens, but didn't feel like waiting another 20 minutes to get someone to help us. People with allergies beware. They do not mention any allergy information. I went here with my family including my brother whom has a severe peanut allergy. We assumed it would be safe and ordered him a mac and cheese. When eating he noticed small pieces of nuts in his food. There are no mentions of nuts on the menu and when talking to the waitress and chef neither of them could tell us what type of nut was in the food. We walked in for two takeout burgers to bring onto the beach, not realizing that the restaurant had just opened TWO HOURS before our arrival! Thankfully the staff was very organized with great leaders guiding the hostesses, servers, runners, cooks, and bartenders to success. The staff was very friendly and as professional as they could be, considering they were still learning the ropes of the place. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL on the inside, clean layout, warm toned decorations, and a gorgeous bar. Such a great date night spot, a place to hang out with friends, but more importantly: a place to get a filling and inexpensive burger to have on the beach! Our burgers were so unique and so very delicious. I ordered the Poke burger and it had a teriyaki/mango/BBQ sweetness (PLUS BACON) that was nothing like Ive ever tasted. My boyfriend ordered the Aloha burger which he finished in just minutes. We also ordered the sweet fries and regular French fries. The regular fries had an interesting seasoning that I wasn't prepared for, but a nice surprise. Another successful McLoones restaurant in Pier Village! Came for lunch and there were two other occupied tables. Waitress was nice. Took almost 40 minutes for 2 burgers and onion rings to come out. The flavor of the meat was good and the bun was tasty as well. The problem was the meat was 1/2 the size of the bun. Where's the beef for $14 is my question.
