As Tulsa is home to one of the nation's largest Zomi Burmese population, it comes with no surprise that a Burmese restaurant would inevitably grace its presence in the food and restaurant community. We've dined at this fine establishment multiple times and have always left with full bellies and satisfied cravings for Burmese food. For those who have not tried it before, I would say it most resembles a mix of Chinese, Thai, and Indian foods that ends up with a very unique and one-of-a-kind taste. We've had their La Phe Tot (tea leaf salad), which is considered their national dish. It is different from most salads because the taste and flavor is mixed in with a variety of nuts and tea leaves. As someone who grew up with a tea drinking family though, the taste easily grew on me with each bite. We also really enjoy having their Moh Hin Khaa (served only on Thursdays), which is also considered another one of their national dishes. It is a vermicelli noodle soup with catfish chowder. The broth is wonderful and creates a fresh seafood taste to the soup. We also had their Bak Kut Tee (pork rib soup served with rice on the side, served only on Wednesday and Saturdays), which is actually more of a Malaysian dish, but it definitely worth trying because the broth and pork is cooked to tender perfection. As an appetizer, I also recommend their Palata, which is their specialty made friend bread with a delicious curry sauce on the side. We've also tried their Kyi Oo, Myi Oo Mee Shii, Shan Noodles, and Nan Gyi, which are a variety of yummy noodle and noodle soup dishes combined with a different assortment of vegetables, meats, and seafood.

I have been waiting for YEARS for a Burmese restaurant to open and it's finally here! My day job gives me the opportunity to serve a lot of Burmese families in Tulsa and they like to spoil me and give me home-made food, so needless to say, I was crazy excited when I finally heard about Kai. It is definitely a family owned business and I love being able to peek into the kitchen. The menu is written in Burmese and also in English. They have pictures too which helps a lot. The first thing that caught my attention is the fact that it's crazy inexpensive for the amount of food you get. Their Myi Oo Mee Shii (clay pot noodle soup) is amazing! Their milk tea & Faluda are a must try! Their weekend specials can't be beat & they have breakfast options too! It is also right next to OK Asian Market which is great to get products you can't find anywhere else!

First and foremost, when eating here you need to keep in mind this is a mom and pop shop. They will open/close whenever they want. They will cook whatever they want. That being said, you need to have a really open mind eating here. I finally tried this place out this past Saturday at around noon. There were a decent amount of Burmese people in there, so you know this place has authentic food. I tried to order the coconut noodle soup that's the weekend special, beef curry, and pork curry. They didn't have any of those things (I'm pretty sure they didn't run out. They just didn't make any that day). Finally, I settled on the M3 Shan Noodles (served with a side of broth). They were noodles topped with a meat? tofu?, spices, chopped peanuts...and I couldn't really decipher the rest. It wasn't bad. The most frustrating part of eating here is definitely the ordering. In addition to not knowing what they're actually serving that day, the dish names on the menu are minimal with no description whatsoever. There are pictures on the wall, but they're bad and fuzzy. So if you're eating here, remember: open mind. Good luck.

The food is authentic and it seems to be family-owned and operated. It's a small place, but the food was good nonetheless. The service was just ok and one of our appetizers was forgotten, but the main dishes were large and filling--so it was no big deal.

As authentic as it gets. Whenever my parents are in OKC, they love making the trip to Tulsa for delicious, affordable Burmese cuisine. If you visit larger cities like SF and NYC, you'll have heard of Burmese food as it's hotly trending nowadays (and crazy pricey). Locally owned and operated, the restaurant definitely has that mom and pop feel so be patient and understanding when it comes to service and you'll be treated to some of the best that Burmese cusine has to offer. 5 stars for being the most authentic Burmese experience in Oklahoma! Our faves include: moh hin khaa, nan gyi, coconut noodle soup, tofu to, and the myi oo mee shii!

If you are looking to try new and exciting food..this is your place. Family owned and operated restaurant making authentic Burmese Cuisine.. no watering it down for the locals.. your not going to find a chicken fried steak or ranch dressing in this place... What you will find is fresh ingredients prepared wonderfully with a mix of Indian and south east Asia spices. The Tom Yum soup is the best I've ever had! #eatthelocals

Walked in with my friend during lunch and it was very lively with many people eating in this small cozy establishment. We were seated and then looked at the menu. A nice selection of options to pick from. Descriptions would have been nice but our server explained everything and they all sounded good. I got the tea leaf salad and my fried got the chicken and rice. My salad was quite fulfilling and even though it was labeled as an appetizer it is enough for a meal. It had a nice crunch and had just the right amount of dressing. I can't really describe the flavor but it was quite delicious. My friend also loved his lightly fired chicken and rice, which also came with a flavorful soup and salad. I wish there were more than two vegetarian dishes but from what I have had the options are pretty good. This place is very good especially for its price and I highly recommend it.

My wife had a salad and egg salad sandwich, her sister had a Caesar salad and both said that they enjoyed their choice.I had a French dip sandwich, as recommended by our server who was friendly and made good recommendations, also keeping the refills on coffee coming regularly, which is appreciated. The French dip was very good, but the bread/baguette, was incredibly good! Really special! I really liked the coffee as well, apparently a local supplier,, although I forgot the name. Place was not overly crowded on arrival but had a wait of 20 people or so by the time we finished. Highly recommend! Wonderful throwback to yesterday year atmosphere.

Turns out that the night before we ate at McNellie's, which is a part of the restaurant chain that owns the diner. Our server at McNellie's was terrific and they knew her. We were seated promptly with a nice view of the door. We started our breakfast with coffee, which was strong and very good. I decided to pack on the carbos with a short stack of pancakes topped with caramel sauce, bananas, and walnuts. Wow, they call this a short stack! I am quite certain I could never eat a tall stack! My wife ordered the breakfast tacos, which looked quite small compared to my pancakes, but she loved the flavor--a nice mix of scrambled eggs, avocado, and cajito cheese! More coffee! We rolled out of the place very satisfied and pleased with the service, ambience, and food! We highly recommend the Dilly diner!

I'm a keto dieter, and I will say that there are several tasty options to choose from. I will often get a burger with no bun, which is what I was craving today. This one went beyond my expectations! It was a hand-formed 8oz patty, and the chef was able to make it a perfect medium rare. It was delectably juicy, seasoned just right, and the cheese, peppers, onions and tomatoes topped it off perfectly. My salad had nice big slices of Parmesan cheese on top, and the lettuce was fresh and crisp, the dressing just right. Removing croutons is never a problem, but I appreciated that they happily left them off when they prepared the salad. If you're looking for keto options, you'll find many good choices here!

While waiting on my food, a gentleman came up complaining about his service. She IMMEDIATELY apologized and adjusted his bill, then laughed and talked with him. I've been here before and had a wonderful conversation with the manager and hostess that was on duty. This time, was a bad experience. My order was two Ceaser salads with blackened shrimp. The food took FOREVER!!!! The customer service was DEFINITELY lacking! Whitney if you hate your job or certain folks, maybe do something else because life is WAY too short. Next time I'm here, I'll DoorDash if she's on duty. I will not go where I do NOT feel welcomed.

I ordered apricot iced tea, the vegan fried chicken sandwich, and pineapple upside-down cake. I don't normally like chicken sandwiches that much, but this was really good. And the highlight was getting to choose any of the salads on the menu as the side salad that comes with it. I had the hearts of palm salad with vegan cheese instead of the usual parmesan. It was delicious! I also got to try the cauliflower wings and a bite of the Korean BBQ tofu sandwich. I liked that sandwich too, but not as much. I do like the way they fried the tofu, but it seemed different than what was described on the menu. It seemed just deep fried, but not battered. My only complaint is the layout of the building and the lack of directional signage. I didn't park in the parking lot, so I didn't know to enter from the back and I ended up on a long confusing walk both outside and inside the building before I finally reached the dining room.
