Conveniently located at our hotel in Hyatt Regency Waikiki. We stopped by here at like 8:30 AM on a Saturday and it was a longggggg line. Expect long lines here lol We did a huge order for coffee and breakfast menu items. The wait to order may be long, but luckily it didn't take too long for them to prepare the drinks and sandwiches. The drinks were faster but the sandwiches did take some time. I mainly had the Kai Latte, which was the macadamia nut latte. I would say it's pretty sweet, but the macadamia nut flavor wasn't really that prominent. It was just sweet. I wish the coffee was also stronger, but it was pretty light. The sandwiches here were pretty good too. I tried the veggie breakfast sandwich which only had some greens and eggs. I tried a bite of the protein breakfast sandwich and I think I probably like that one better haha. Although, the veggie one was definitely a lot more lighter and easy to consume. The protein one probably would have been a lot more heavier for me, but a lot more flavorful. Otherwise, food and coffee are pretty solid. There are a few tables outside the coffee shop, very limited. Love the atmosphere around here!

This place located inside Hyatt hotel and very convenient to the hotel guest. I just grabbed a cup of cappuccino and large piece of lemon loaf to go before heading out to the beach. Solid cup of coffee and lemon cake. Service was great, they had few seating area also and the place was not overly crowded. Highly recommended.

I went to Hawaii for a week, and this was one of my favorite coffee shops that I visited daily. Everything was great, including the food. I especially loved the iced coffee and the excellent customer service. I had the macadamia nut iced latte, and it was wonderful. It is located on a popular street but is somewhat hidden.

Solid final day coffee stop.... Wanted one more Macnut latte before we left Oahu, so we went to Kai. Got the Kai (macnut latte) with coconut milk. Espresso quality was great, and macnut flavor was light and not too sweet. Still prefer island vintage, but overall solid spot. Barista was nice and located in a walkable outdoor mall.

During our stay at the Hyatt Regency Spa and Hotel, my husband and I stopped by this little spot the Kai Coffee Shop. We both had cold coffee in the morning, and it was the perfect start to the day. The weather warmed up quickly, which we're not used to since we're from Seattle. By the middle of the day, we were feeling tired and decided to return to the coffee shop. I explained how I was feeling, and the staff kindly recommended the Bullseye, which is drip coffee with an espresso shot. It was surprisingly smooth, perfectly hot, and hit the spot exactly when I needed it.

This is a solid place to grab your daily coffee. Kai Coffee is a local chain coffee shop, and this location is along Kalakaua Avenue, specifically in the Pualeilani Atrium Shops, the shopping plaza located inside the Hyatt Regency. The shop is easy to spot, as it's next to a large water feature. The cafe itself is open, bright, and clean, with a straightforward selection of caffeinated drinks and pastries. If you prefer to sit indoors, there are some seats at a long high top table, otherwise there are plenty of tables outdoors to sit and enjoy your drink at. Service is super quick and friendly, which is always nice! I ordered a latte with oat milk, which came out within minutes. I really liked my drink, as it was well-balanced and creamy despite there being no sweetener. This will definitely become a go-to coffee shop for me if I'm ever craving a well-made latte, and I'll have to try their baked goods as well. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area!

Part of a local chain, this location is nestled in an outdoor mall next to the Hyatt. I went around 9a on a Tuesday and there were plenty of tables available, along with minimal foot traffic to the neighboring stores. I appreciate that the signature Kai latte uses macadamia nut flavoring, which is the iconic regional flavor. It isn't overly sweet like Starbucks' syrups. That said, it probably would impart a pleasant layer of flavor if it were paired with the right roast, which it isn't here. Artisanal espresso, this ain't. Service was fast and friendly, classically Hawaiian.

More Kai Coffee branches have been popping up. I wasn't thrilled when I got their signature drink when they first opened. I talked to an employee and tried another coffee a second time and it was not better. But, I did like their acai bowl. It was good timing when I came back for a third time. It wasn't busy and I was able to ask the barista about getting a strong iced caffeinated coffee. Kai coffee doesn't refrigerate their leftover coffee. They actually make cold brew! That, with an extra shot of espresso, liquid sugar and cream made it the best cold brew! Now, I definitely recommend Kai coffee. They have more table and chairs in the Hyatt Regency hotel area next to Kai's that's shaded.

I was completely disappointed with my drink here. And service was only slightly better than the treatment of the drink. I ordered a macadamia frappe and that thing was too dang icy to the point where it was just too much. We all know ice is a huge component of frappes but this drink had no cohesiveness of the ingredients in the drink. Honestly, they just took my money because you already know it's Honolulu and it's not cheap. For ambience the place is really small, but they do have a good amount of seating right outside the shop. Girl, I don't know, but I ain't wasting nine dollars on this again. Plus it's small.

Consistently good coffee. We were very close to Kona Coffee purveyors but are not fans of standing in 20+ people lines for coffee so we went to Kai coffee in the Hyatt Regency instead. It was a pleasant morning walk and the coffee shop is right by these beautiful waterfalls in the indoor outdoor atrium making it a very pleasant, peaceful way to start the day.

Service was quick, and the location is super convenient in the center of Waikiki. The dining and shopping area inside the Hyatt is beautiful, and even if you're not staying there, it's definitely worth a visit!

Decided on Kai Coffee after seeing great reviews. I give this coffee joint 3/5 stars. Great coffee, really excellent. I ordered the macadamia nut Frappe and my husband ordered the cold brew. Do not get breakfast here the scone was microwaved and rubbery, breakfast sandwich was subpar and the mango pineapple bread tasted like fruitcake. read more

OMG, this coffee shop is so amazing. Aesthetically it is beautiful, comfortable and great view of the ocean. The best part of the coffee cafe is the staff, Row and Tony greet us every morning with the sweetest attitude and Aloha cheer. I'm kinda of a coffee snob so when I travel I look for the perfect roast of a bean not burnt or too acidic. Kai you guys crush it! These boys need a bonus. Love Christina and Stella read more

Yummy macadamia but coffee. Husband has his hot and I got one over ice. Really good. We both got a pastry. I had a croissant and he had a fruit streusel. Mine was warm, good but small and not melty soft like a fresh croissant should be. Husbands pastry was burnt on the bottom. He peeled that part off but he said it was just okay. We spent $25 for two large coffees and two mediocre pastries. Next time I'll just get coffee. Service was friendly and fast. Great location in the Hyatt and our hotel. read more

Woke up every morning super early so I could start off my days with a Kai latte. The kai latte is not too sweet nor bitter, but remember to add the whip cream! Super friendly staff and I love the ambiance of the sounds of the waterfall and birds chirping right outside the shop. I'm gonna miss this place when I go back home. read more

Getting a good cup of coffee in Waikiki is tough enough, let alone an excellent one. Loved this place. If you're a tourist and come all the way to Hawaii, to try the coffee, it should be prepared the best way possible, and the best beans, this place has both. Real friendly staff and the owner took the time to chat with us as ask us what we thought of the place. Haven't had that one come up yet at Starbucks..... read more

Although it's located in a hotel lobby, this place has real coffee that is a surprise in a tourist area. They have amazing single origin pour over coffee and is a must visit if you want to try true Hawaiian coffee. I had a kona coffee sourced from a single lot this morning and will be returning everyday for this amazing coffee. Their coffee, food and service is all high quality and I recommend visiting! read more

Best best best coffee in town. Worth the hike from wherever you are. I talked to Tony, a very nice gentleman who runs the place, and we shared our love for coffee and how much he loves visiting San Francisco. For a SF coffee snob, this is truly an amazing find and I hope Tony brings Kai Coffee to SF. I had the Ice Dark Mocha, which was just out of this world good. My friend had their Kai Frappe and said that it was the best Frappe he has had. Amazing coffee and amazing team. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE Kai's in they Hyatt. They get my mornings started before school. I cannot help but be impressed with the level of customer service delivered here too. All the baristas wear little bow ties which is an adorable touch! They can all do latte art so you get a little heart or branch in the foam if you want it. Best coffee in the area. Not only does it get you going in the morning, it is also super tasty. Additionally, I commend the guys at Kai's for making it look beautiful too with the little designs. Their pastries are delicious as well and should not be missed. My only recommendation, either try getting your coffee before 8am or after 9:30/10am otherwise the line might be discouraging. read more

Five stars for consistently great coffee and excellent customer service! Sam (owner) and his staff always greet you with a smile and make you feel like you've been buying your morning cup of Joe here, for years. The pour over coffee is unique and often from a quality local source (the past two days have been a Maui source), guaranteeing to satisfy! I also order my wife the medium latte every morning and the barista never disappoints her. We know good coffee and this place definitely supplies the good stuff! I found this spot on Yelp this morning when trying to avoid going to the Starbucks next door to our hostel. Sam, the owner, and his team were so chill and friendly which gave for great conversation at 5:30 in the morning. The coffee is absolutely delicious and I would come back everyday if I lived in the area! These guys have a good thing going for them, be sure to visit! read more

For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.

I recently stopped by Kai Coffee and had a mixed experience. Despite the long line, it moved quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Kai Latte, which had a macadamia flavoring. Unfortunately, the flavoring was quite weak and didn't come through as strongly as I had hoped. The latte wasn't sweet at all, so I had to add some sweetener to make it enjoyable. One impressive aspect was the speed of service--within 20 seconds, all three of our drinks were ready. However, this quick turnaround also raised some concerns. One of our drinks had someone else's name on it, which was a bit alarming. While it was great to receive our coffee so promptly, we couldn't help but wonder how long that particular drink had been sitting there and whether it was intended for us or someone else. Overall, while Kai Coffee offers fast service, the weak flavoring and mix-up with the drinks left something to be desired. Their breakfast sandwiches are a travesty. They are pre-made and held in a bin and taste as such. Their coffee is nothing to sing about and their employees are often stressed and rude. The barista at this location literally glared at me when I asked him about their coffee. He had those crazy eyes behind his glasses that told me that he was extremely stressed and angry for having to service long lines of customers all morning long. I tried the cold brew and a cappuccino -- both were smooth and flavorful. They also have some nice pastries to go with your drink.
