I bought a Bibingka yesterday, and I was disappointed with the experience. It seems the staff don't check their merchandise to ensure it's in good condition before selling it. The food is overpriced, and some of the staff members are not friendly.

It's like a small Filipino canteen where you can dine-in (probably not this Covid season) and buy a few snack or grocery items. The old lady who gave the food was so nice and friendly, she's like a grand/mom. :) The food were good and affordable. If you're looking for Filipino dishes that's home-cooked, this is it! We had our food to-go and ate in the car. They provide styro plates, napkins and plastic spoon and forks (utensils inside a plastic so you're sure they're clean).

    Holy lumpia!!

Love the fresh lumpias- which are huge by the way. Overall food quality is excellent. I have catered with them before and will again for future family parties. Can't beat top notch Filipino food especially out in the northwest suburbs- haven't found a place that comes close. Homemade siopao is delish as well... make sure you try both- you won't be disappointed. Grocery store is a bit lacking in size and selection, but I mainly come for the food anyways.

I loved the grilled pork belly! Super yummy!

Your typical run of the mill Filipino store. Though it seems very disorganized, it's not. Serves me for what I need.

Ube pancake with the ube butter and coconut jelly was made just right. The Galbi topsilog was good. Very rich marinade, not what I like, but on this plate with the garlic rice it works. Drinks were good, the Ube matcha was good on sweetness and the Calamansi lemonade was on point. Customer service was very good, the guy behind the counter saw us looking at the menu and asked if we'd like to hear about the specials... and they checked on us although at the table even though it felt more like a self serve style diner. Overall, good spot to get a quick fix for Filipino food craving.

Came on a Thursday after lunch and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the Tocilog - which is sweet pork with a side of garlic fried rice, and an egg cooked any way you like. Also came with a side of noodles (pancit). Since I was here, decided to order some calamansi wings to go. And of course an ube milk tea. I really enjoyed my meal. The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color. I guess the tocino here is a little more leaner and no artificial colors - which works for me as I'm kinda allergic to red dye. But it tasted good, very flavorful. Loved the garlic rice as well. Pancit noodles were okay - could have used a little more seasoning but I could dig it Calamansi wings were low key fire. The crisp of the wings were perfection and the meat was not tough - still nice and juicy. I would get these again. They did have other flavors available that I need to come and try as well such as adobo and salt & pepper. Servers were nice and food came out pretty fast.

Wow great food for such a great price!!!…read more I was picking up Navy graduation tickets a few blocks away and found them on Yelp. Glad I tried them out. The charge by how many entrees you choose. I got the 3 entree choices for $15, also added the rest of thier lumpia which were $1.25 each. They are only open until they sell out every day. They dont have set hours when of when they close, so if they run out of food you miss you. So get there early. It was only 1230pm and they were already out of several dishes. I got a spicy pork, chicken adobo and thier Wednesday special which was peanut butter pork. All of them were tender and flavorful. The inside was sorta small and had about 6 or 7 tables. I saw a lot of people picking up food and getting it to go. Several people in line asked if they had specific dishes like the bbq, which they ran out of. So seems like they have quite a bit of regulars. The guys working were super nice and since it was my first time there I asked what they recommend and they didn't disappoint. If you like this type of food, like I do, then I would highly recommend this place.

I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.

They have a little lobby area for waiting but definitely not for dining. I needed to bring something to our family meet up and didn't feel like cooking or baking anything. I went on Yelp to find Filipino empanadas and Salamat Po came up. Perfect! I called the number and a polite gentleman answered. I asked him if they sold empanadas by the dozen and I needed it by the next day and they were able to accommodate. Picked 2 dozen up the next day and the price was reasonable - $2.50/empanada. I had to test one out as soon as I got home and they were perfect! Everyone at the party said they were really good. So will definitely be coming back here to order. Brought my mom with me and she was able to confirm that Salamat Po also caters. They had various Filipino food (Ulam) available when we visited. I guess their menu changes daily. They also had dessert available such as buko pandan, and other rice cake sweet desserts. Restaurant was clean and inviting. I will be back!!

You order at the register or you can get served at your table. We chose to order at the register, and they gave us a buzzer when the food was ready. Dessert was also included which was a banana roll and Ube ice cream. The food was really good. The quantity was just right, although I could have gone for a few more egg rolls, and maybe a third pork on a stick. The staff were very polite and helpful, and although all the tables were full, it was still quiet in the restaurant. I got a pitcher of water for the three of us, which was complementary.
