Pad See Ew and Duck Noodle Soup here were better than what I've had at some of the Thai restaurants in downtown Chicago. The noodles had were perfect, while the duck soup was aromatic, and packed with tender meat in a broth that clearly simmered for hours. It's a cozy spot that's been around for over 25 years. A plus is the easy parking in the back, so you can skip the city chaos and still get top tier Thai food.

Thai food is the best comfort food and Thai Noodles Cafe hits the spot. I will say this last time I went the quality was a bit iffy. I have pics from 2 years ago and pics from a month ago and the sweet buns were over fried this last time I went. Same with the egg rolls. I'm hoping it was just a one off bad day. The noodles were still lovely however. I also tried the peanut curry for the first time which was extremely flavorful. I like dining in and ordering carry out here. Service is always fast and nice. I absolutely recommend this local Thai restaurant!

Have been wanting to try this place finally did today. We had the shrimp blanket, egg roll, pad thai and bbq prok w bambee soup. All were good aside from the soup, the noodles seems from the instant noodles we buy in store and the soup doesn't taste anything so water down. Pad thai was really good though I did the for extra $4 and all worth it. The server was really nice and pleasant the place looks clean.

The menu looked excellent. I haven't been here for a long time. Not sure where my review went. I've eaten here several times but it's been a while. The roasted duck soup is really good. The egg rolls were kind of greasy. I think the oil may not have been hot enough when they fried it. My roasted duck soup was good, but it wasn't hot. It came out kind of tepid I like my food, super hot, same for the tea it was tepid The parking lot was packed. It's a cute little small restaurant on the first floor is the restaurant in the kitchen and on the second floor I believe the people that own the restaurant live there you enter from the back where the parking is the customer services. excellent there's a cute woman that comes out and serves you the food after the young girls take your order , one thing I wish they would offer is wrapping up the food they gave me containers to wrap up my roasted duck soup, and when I was pouring it and I spilled it all over me.

The restaurant is very clean and the people working here are very polite and nice. We ordered the Crispy Egg rolls as our appetizer they were very crispy, hot, and delicious. I had a rubbery piece of meat in mine but I will still order these again. My husband ordered the Pad Thai with Beef and I ordered the Lad Nar with beef. Both entrees were fresh and full of flavor! We ended our meal by sharing one of the sticky rice with banana desserts and it was the perfect size for us to share. We will definitely eat here again when we are in the area.

Tried this place first time in ages - don't order the green curry: it's very liquid (waterish) almost no veggies and just some chicken. The fried rice is decent (nothing earthshattering but ok) No pic of the spring rolls - they were very greasy but the taste was ok.

Check out this place if in Libertyville and looking for noodles or other kinds of spicy Thai food. It may not look like much, but the food makes up for the lack of anything else about it. Thai Noodles Cafe is a bit of a way from the town's main restaurant scene. Located in a pretty lame area on the main street, close to a few auto repair shops and crappy strip malls. Restaurant also is a store you can buy candy, groceries, and other things. After choosing to eat here, we knew we were going to get something with noodles to eat. It's in the name of course, so these had to be good. There's quite a few things to choose from, and more than just noodles too. It's about $11 at lunch. They have a few things on special. I got the Spicy Crazy Noodles. This is rice noodles stir fried with vegetables. It had a special chili sauce. You choose the protein, and I got it with tofu. Good variety of vegetables in it. There were bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, and straw mushrooms. She had the Pad Thai, a classic. This was a pretty basic version with tofu as a protein. Great stuff for those who like things hot. It of course has noodles, but there's also things that come on rice if you would rather have it. The entrees mostly can be made for meat eaters, or these can have tofu for vegetarians.

order pad see ew from here on uber eats. having had incredible thai food in the past, this place doesn't earn higher than a 3.5 to me. the noodles were soft, but not amazing and fresh. my main complaint is the chicken and the vegetables that seemed to be old and not freshly cooked. for being in the middle of nowhere illinois, i guess it's "good", but in the grand scheme of things, it's not. the options for spice were 1, 3, and 5 if i remember correctly and i got a 3 because thai food is usually crazy spicy, but it wasn't really spicy at all. i would recommend a 5 if you like spicy food and choose to eat here. i would definitely go down to the city to try better thai food though.

I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.
