Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience here on 4/13/25. I ordered a pork banh mi, the meat was totally undercooked, basically raw as shown in the image below (which gave me food poisoning later that night). The meat and vegetables were served at room temperature--not hot, not cold, just... off. It made me question how long the food had been sitting out before it got to me. Within hours, I was extremely sick--nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps, fatigue, extreme dehydration and I ended up having to leave work early on Monday. Food safety is not something to take lightly, especially when it comes to pork. If you decide to eat here, PLEASE be careful and check your food before digging in. First just wanted to shout that this place is CASH ONLY. If I hadn't caught a glimpse at the small sign in the back by the kitchen, I wouldn't have known. Nobody checked in on us either. I had to call the server over for a box and the check. No big deal though. My dad and I ordered some fresh shrimp spring rolls, which were a nice way to start. They are made with rice paper which makes it light and chewy. The shrimp was cooked well, and there were a ton of noodles. The peanut sauce had to be the best part--super flavorful and rich and complimented the freshness of the roll. I don't remember ever trying pho so this was a new experience for me. Most of the pho is traditionally beef broth. However, I ordered the vegan pho with tofu because I don't eat beef. It was pretty bland on first taste but way better with the addition of sriracha and hoisin to dip my vegetables. It was also piping hot which was much-appreciated in the cold winter weather. It is our second time here and it is an okay experience. First, the food we had the sampler platter for 3 which is a good price at$16 for all the appetizers you get. The most delicious is the shrimp rangoon must try and highly recommend, then the crispy roll which is average and then the soft roll not so of my liking and my least favorite is the skewers very plain. The server seemed like this new management did not train him at all. While we were mid bite and our pho bowls were still 3/4 full, he asked if we wanted the bill. Awkwardly, I said no, we are still eating. Then he comes back a few moments later and we still had 1 person eating- to ask again " do you want the bill now?" He didn't ask how our meal was nor offer a box for leftovers. At this point, I was super annoyed, but begrudgingly said yes so he would stop asking. Then after he dropped off the bill he was no where to be found for like 20 minutes to pick the cash up after adamantly trying to give us the bill multiple times!? What? There were just 2-3 tables total in the whole place. We had to flag him down from the other side of the restaurant to pay. In the meantime, he stops at our neighboring table to ask them if they are ready for their bill when they were still waiting to be served their food. Also, when that table was done eating, this same server brought them the bill and stood there staring at the couple while the diner was taking out her cash from her wallet. The diner was even subtly hinting "oh I have to do math" while taking her cash out to tell him to go away! He still stood there staring until all the money was taken out. I've come to this spot for Pho for a good while. While it wasn't the best, it certainly filled my cravings for a good bowl of Pho. I came for lunch today and though the flavors were consistent, I was shocked at how little noodles they give. For $13 I expect to be decently filled, but I lifted the noodles out of the bowl and I could've probably eaten all the noodles in one big bite. Looks like the owners have changed over since the last time I was here. Name changed from Pho House to Viet Taste, as well. The pho still has the same great depth of flavor I remember. Tastes like your classic pho with hints of lemongrass and other aromatic spices. I mixed it with hoisin and sriracha and it was perfect. The beef was nice and tender too. For sure one of the better pho places in the north shore. A little disappointed because the prices have been increased. Everything is about $2 more than it used to be. Also, the egg rolls were not as good as before. Next time, I will opt to only get the potstickers as an appetizer. Even with these changes I'll still come back for the pho.
