    Phô combo

Viet Taste is a steady and stable provider of popular and affordable lunch. The Phô is solid with a savory broth, the ingredients are fresh and the service is cheerful and quick. The meat content is acceptable though thin in my experience. The atmosphere is standard with clean cheap decor but quiet with no unpleasant music. The tables are generally full at lunch, most table are eating the soup but other fare is available such as Ban Mi and a few standard fried appetizers and rice paper rolls as well as a few rice dishes. The restaurant is cash only so plan on that. Popular for a reason, I regularly enjoy this place as it is friendly, clean, and reliable. Recommended.

Maybe new management . The stock is tasting different. They have cash only. Small serving of noodles. I had , brisket and tendon for the tendon. It's really good. The brisket was very lean . Kind of bummed . This was one of my favorites.

Broth for pho OK, trolls below average. The place was empty and they make you pay with cash, which is shady. Also they do t tell you that you have to pay with cash until you are ready to pay. They offer Zelle for payment too. So plan ahead if you go here. Not worth the money

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience here on 4/13/25. I ordered a pork banh mi, the meat was totally undercooked, basically raw as shown in the image below (which gave me food poisoning later that night). The meat and vegetables were served at room temperature--not hot, not cold, just... off. It made me question how long the food had been sitting out before it got to me. Within hours, I was extremely sick--nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps, fatigue, extreme dehydration and I ended up having to leave work early on Monday. Food safety is not something to take lightly, especially when it comes to pork. If you decide to eat here, PLEASE be careful and check your food before digging in. I truly hope they address this issue before someone else gets sick. Price: $6-7 for 1 banh mi, $6 for an order of crab rangoon Taste: Flavor of everything in it was bland. The bread tasted old as it was very very dry. Every place I've ever gotten banh mi from, the bread was always fresh or made day of. The filling inside the crab rangoon was very very sweet--not my preference since the sauce they gave me was also sweet. Service: 1/5. The lady who took my order wasn't that friendly or welcoming. She was on her phone the whole time and acted like she didn't want to be there.

Does NOT accept credit cards. Cash only. There's an ATM in the restaurant to withdraw cash, but it's still inconvenient. Everything else was good. The food is delicious. I ordered noodle salad with shrimps and pork which I never had before. It was good. Lots of veggies which I like, and the shrimps and pork were flavorful. My boyfriend ordered spring rolls for our appetizer and seafood pho. It was a lot of seafood ingredients in his seafood pho. The broth tasted very nice too. The food was good portions for the price. We ended up bringing food home. Would come here more often when it accepts credit cards.

Dine-In Experience: Viet Taste offers a cozy and quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The restaurant has ample seating, service is always efficient and quick, and while they only accept cash for dine-in orders, there is an ATM available inside for convenience. Takeout Experience: For takeout, it's convenient to be able to pay by card when ordering online. My orders have always been ready right on time. I particularly appreciate how the pho is packaged, being separate containers for the broth, meat and vegetables, and sauces and toppings. Food: The pho portions are generous, and I usually can't finish a full bowl of pho on my own. The broth is flavorful, and the meat is tender. One thing I've noticed, however, is that I tend to feel a bit sleepy after enjoying a meal here. Also, the appetizer plate is an absolute standout and a must-try.

A first try.... Ordered a Combination Pho Bowl, an order of Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls, Lemongrass Chicken Noodle Bowl, Chicken on the stick, and another Pho Noodle Bowl. Food tasted alright. Kind of felt like some seasoning or flavor were missing. Sauce for the Spring Rolls had too much Hoisin Sauce and not enough Peanut Butter. The Chicken bowl had plenty of chicken, but also way too much veggies piled on. We didn't get much service besides the initial ordering of our food items and then paying for our check at the end. You also had to pay cash since the restaurant did not accept card payments.

I took some coworkers out for lunch and I will say everyone was very pleased with the overall meal. The quality was very good! The service was okay I little slow. The atmosphere was nice very nicely lit from the natural light from the outside. I will say be mindful as Viet Taste doesn't take credit cards and is only Zelle or Cash. Overall, I will say go for the high quality food!

Ordered seafood pho and appetizer combo that included Crispy egg rolls, fresh spring rolls, shrimp rangoons, chicken on the stick. My favorite was shrimp rangoons. So creamy and crispy. Just let it cool a little as it's very hot. Seafood pho was on point. I prefer light broth and this hit the spot. Service was excellent and conversation friendly. Going back soon to try more phos.

I was on vacation in this area and wanted pho. Found this place that was open late. There was a huge parking lot. The place is huge. I like that there was large tables to accommodate large family gatherings. I ordered spring rolls and they were good but the sauce was not a peanut sauce. I was a little disappointed. My husband ordered a strawberry smoothie that was really good. The pho was really good and portions are generous. They only accepted cash so something to consider. Overall okay experience.

First just wanted to shout that this place is CASH ONLY. If I hadn't caught a glimpse at the small sign in the back by the kitchen, I wouldn't have known. I wish there were signs at the door or that the staff informed you before seating. The place is definitely nicer than I expected. It's colorful and vibrant with all the lanterns on display. The menu is pretty easy to navigate as well because it's mostly varieties of pho. The service was straightforward--no chit-chat, nothing personal. Just order, receive food, repeat. Nobody checked in on us either. I had to call the server over for a box and the check. No big deal though. My dad and I ordered some fresh shrimp spring rolls, which were a nice way to start. They are made with rice paper which makes it light and chewy. The shrimp was cooked well, and there were a ton of noodles. The peanut sauce had to be the best part--super flavorful and rich and complimented the freshness of the roll. I don't remember ever trying pho so this was a new experience for me. Most of the pho is traditionally beef broth. However, I ordered the vegan pho with tofu because I don't eat beef. It was pretty bland on first taste but way better with the addition of sriracha and hoisin to dip my vegetables. It was also piping hot which was much-appreciated in the cold winter weather. The rice noodles were lighter than ramen but still quite filling. I wish the veggies were cut smaller because it's a bit difficult to eat with the hot broth. Also some more tofu would've been great. Luckily I had a ton of broth leftover so I can use it to make a semi-homemade chicken noodle soup!

Fast service, nor sure was it because we came in about 50mnts to closing. Food: 8/10. Service: 8/10. Ambiance: Not bad although bathrooms area pretty creepy

The atmosphere is beautiful, and the white-glove service was absolutely excellent. I started with their "La Vie en Rose" signature cocktail, which was fantastic and came with little lavender pods floating on top, while my friend enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay. For lunch, they brought out this cool, crisp cracker-like bread that was a neat touch. I ordered the spicy beef salad and ate every single bite--yummo! My friend loved her shaking beef, though we both thought they could probably cut back just a bit on the number of pea pods in the dish. We finished the meal with the crème brûlée garnished with fresh berries, and it was top-notch with a perfect, crispy crack crust and soft baby almond cookies. Since it's right next door to my office, I'd love to make this a regular habit, but the prices definitely make it a special-occasion treat. Each table has self serve rooster sauce and hoisin sauce with soup spoons, chopsticks, forks and metal spoons. The caddy was quite large and tall so we had it removed after setting everyone up. We ordered quite a few dishes and repeated a few. #42 was the pho of choice with everything added in. I personally had the bun lemongrass pork with egg roll. Everyone at the table remarked how full the bowl was when the food came out. It's a delightful noodle salad, super flavorful with the fish sauce added and the salad mixed up. Very filling, and actually a good dish to share as a salad. It has variety of texture with peanuts, egg roll crunch, the noodles, the pickled veggies, the umami of.thr fish sauce a wonderful dish that signals in summer. We ordered salt n pepper shrimp and squid as an appetizer for the table since we were quite hungry when we landed. The two were really different from each other. Both great taste, but the onions shined thru with a bomb of flavor, wonderful when mixed in with the rice. The shrimp had heads slightly trimmed, we ate them crispy head and all. I had a taste of the bun bo hue, which I think is always overlooked when it's the last item on the "pho" section of the menu. It should be a highlight, very different than standard pho, the noodles are rounder, the broth more savory and had a bit of unexpected mild heat (I think usually I don't expect heat, but this good). A great contrast from the pho noodles. I've been to the libertyville location before, and had good memories. This one is a good one as well, the staff was always around and I liked how the high ceilings and the feeling of spaciousness. I will definitely give it another round.
