Really good Philippine street food. They were very accommodating with our bigger group of 6 people and let us move some tables together. It was a little cold right by the door, but it is casual enough where we felt totally fine going out to the car and getting a lap blankie. Lol- yes I keep one in the trunk! Ordered a little of everything. Egg rolls were great and I loved the tamarind soup. My favorite were the chicken skewers.

    Good truck

Every dish we sampled was phenomenal. Pork, chicken, rice, egg rolls, noodles. Definitely worth the price for a food truck. So tasty.

Came here with a group of 6 for the boodle fight. My friend highly recommends this place. The food was not warm and I like my food to be served hot. The set up was beautiful but lacked some seasoning. I've had Filipino food before and this was just ok to me. This place is about a hour away from me so I definitely can find something closer . The halo halo was terrible (not sweet at all) . Service was good . Overall it was an ok experience but I don't need to drive one hour for it.

Last time I was in town I ate here with my parents but my sister was not able to try it so naturally this visit I came back with her. Ordered pretty much the same foods only a little less since there was not as many in our party this time. Everything was delicious as usual and my sister loved it too. Again the staff were friendly and welcoming making it feel like you're eating at a relatives place instead of a restaurant. That kind of service really makes it cozy and comforting. Needless to say - we'll all be back again and again!

We came here for some Filipino food. My nephew was craving authentic Filipino Food and we found this place. Drove 1 hour it! So worth it!! The food is delicious, the presentation is amazing. Worth it. Service is also really good. There is plenty of parking and if when the weather is actually nice, they have an outdoor tables. We killed the food. We are not local but highly recommend this locally owed Filipino restaurant.

Our party of 16 had a great time tonight at the boodle fight. The boodle fight was being set up just as we got there and was ready by our reservation time. The food was nostalgic of Filipino family parties and was plenty for our group. I liked the selection much more than another boodle fight I had attended in the city. I worked with Chris in both reserving and the event tonight. He made it very easy as we corresponded by email and then final confirmation by phone. I would be back again!

Cozy little place to eat BUT it gives it that warm welcoming family feel. And that's how you're treated each second you spend there. I first discovered this place from their food truck when they stopped at the VA and the food from the truck and here are both masarap! Presentation for everything all great and delicious. I love that they serve foods in huge family portions and the desserts all amazing

I was pleasantly surprised to find Pinoy Grill food truck at Lynfred Winery tonight. We tried the #1 combo platter with rice, pancit, BBQ sticks and lumpia. The BBQ sticks were tender and full of flavor and sauce that tastes good with the rice. The plate was enough for us to share. As someone else shared in a review, the pancit lacked flavor but was cooked well. I don't like overcooked noodles and these were just right. I loved the energy and gratitude of the server at the window. I look forward to finding them again and trying other combos. The crispy siopao looks so good too.

Pinoy Grill doesn't just have great food, the service is unmatched. Seriously... They made us feel so welcome and spoiled, true Filipino love, I ordered the seafood feast and it was to die for. We drove 5 hours to come here! This place is a destination, not just a restaurant. Thank you!!

Scheduling a boodle fight (kamayan) meal is usually easy and they accommodate large groups for this very reason. The food is delicious and once the food is on your table, it's more self-service. Options are plentiful and can't wait to go back for more kamayans. Maraming salamat for all the good food.

I went with a group of friends we ordered the Boodle Flight overall the set up was beautiful, presentation 10 out of 10 but a lot of the things were underwhelming. The seasoning could have been dialed way up and I was missing some spice. Also I wish the food was not room temp, I would have preferred things to be served hotter. Not sure if being close to the door affected this or waiting for the full set up to be prepared. The staff were very nice and friendly. For the experience it was nice but if I visit again it would be for a smaller item on the menu not the full flight set up.

    Kelly L.

came in for their $16.50 restaurant week meal in the chicago nw suburbs! it was all so tasty and an incredible deal :) my fav option was the bbq pork skewer in the flavor!! i really loved the cook on it and the pork belly option bc of the grill taste. they really offered a lot as u can see in the pics! i also really loved the turon and ube ice cream which they prepared once we notified them we were ready! it is a bit carb heavy so it was super filling, but such great value overall, a very cute family owned business and i hope to come back next year for the deal again! seemed counter service mainly and everything u can grab on your own like utensils and to go containers

This was a great vibe and very nostalgic place to go to. Reminded me a lot of home. Even the decor of the place was very nostalgic. The food is really good too! Very affordable. The combo meals give you a lot! Pancit, garlic rice, lumpia, + your entree you choose. We had bistek combo and pork belly combo. I also ordered pork isaw which is Filipino street food which was cool to see! Food was 5/5, I loved it. I had leftovers and I ate it for lunch the next day. Service was helpful but it's a chill place. Easy to talk to service but it's a very independent to the visitor type of restaurant. They do have signs for you to clean up after yourself and get your own sauces. But it's good because the kitchen is huge so you know the staff is only focusing on making amazing food! We'll definitely be back!

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

And we just rushed and ordered and sat down. We ordered the lumpia, the breakfast sandwich, and the pork belly with garlic rice. We also ordered a pandan cold brew and a ube cold brew. For dessert I got an ube cookie. The lumpia came out almost immediately, but was super super salty. I took one bite and couldn't finish it even with the sweet chili sauce but my husband kept eating at it. Our entrees came out shortly after the sandwich was good, and the pork belly was crispy. It was a great size portion. We waited to eat our food until we got our drinks, which came out quite a bit later after we got our food. The drinks were great and full of flavor. After we finished our meal, we went to the counter to find someone to ask for our cookie because we hadn't received and we were the only ones In the restaurant. It took a while until someone came out, so we rang the bell. She gave us our cookie after checking we never got it. So we took it to go. Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!

After a long day of walking, talking, and imagining his future, we were more than ready for a comforting dinner. Tita Mia's has been a staple for us ever since a very good friend introduced it to our family a couple of years ago, and it has become a non‑negotiable stop every time we're in town. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by their inviting pastry area, an instant mood‑setter that hints at the good meal ahead. As we walked further in, the ambiance washed over me with a wave of nostalgia. Everything about the space, the décor, the warmth, the familiar scents, reminds me of home in Manila. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're about to enjoy a true Filipino dinner, not just a restaurant meal. Since it wasn't too busy, we were seated right away and our server took our order promptly. Service was quick and friendly, which we always appreciate after a long day. We ordered some of our favorites: Kare-Kare, sisig, and lumpiang gulay. Each entrée comes with rice, so there was no need to order extra. The food arrived fast and piping hot. Their Kare-Kare is exceptional, rich, creamy, and full of that deep peanut flavor that instantly brought me back to my mom's cooking. The sisig came out sizzling just the way it should, perfectly cooked and not overly salty like versions I've had elsewhere. And the lumpiang gulay was freshly fried, crisp, and absolutely perfect when dipped in vinegar and paired with rice. By the end of the meal, we were happily stuffed, with enough leftovers to take home. Tita Mia's continues to be one of those places that feels like a warm hug, consistent, comforting, and deeply satisfying. We'll always make it a point to come back, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Filipino flavors.
