    Watermelon bingsu shrinkflation
    Aaron W.

Menu items were tasty, pricing is comparable with other dessert specialty shops, perhaps a little higher. The mango in the drinks were tart but complemented well with the sweetness of the drinks. The disappointment was with the watermelon bingsu which also happened to be the most expensive dessert item in the menu. As you can see in the picture, the top left is what was pictured in the menu, the top right is what was taken by another Yelp user four months ago, and the bottom picture is what we received this past weekend. Serious shrinkflation! This Kirkland store had a cool ambiance though, with lots of potted plants (for sale) decorating the inside of the store giving it a green and pleasant environment to have dessert in. The store seemed short-staffed when we visited but the wait was not too long. May be a good idea to leave spoons out where customers can grab them by themselves.

The dream of a cute dessert cafe slash plant shop has been realized - look no further than this cute Kirkland shop! Bingsu, milk teas, cakes, croffles plus all the vibes. And as an awesome bonus this is probably the cleanest air you will ever breathe in a city cafe thanks to the walls of shelves stocked full of potted plants (all for sale). And the service was lovely! All the good things. Def adding this to my Kirkland faves!

Glad that my daughter discovered this place in Kirkland as it always takes at least 20 minutes to get great desserts from my place. The servers are young and nice, half of the stores is a green house with plants that one can buy. Even though they don't have soft serve yet but I really love the Pandan Lava shokupan and the mango sticky rice bingsu! The toast is crunchy and goes very well with the pandan mochi and condensed milk. The bingsu is milky not watery, the sticky rice is warm and the mango is sweet! What a great combo!

Don't walk, run to this place and taste the heaven that is Kakigori!!! The Choco Malt is the stuff dreams are made of. These little suckers will run you about $10/ea but I'm telling you it's worth every penny! They also sell a wide variety of house plants at this location which makes it a really tranquil and relaxing environment.

I believe this is the third location that they opened and I'm glad that they opened one in Kirkland! Closer location than Southcenter and their Seattle location. This place is really hidden from the street if you don't pay attention when you are driving, it's located next to a gas station. First time walking in the cafe! I was really surprise on how the layout/decor was in there. Half of the cafe was where you can order your dessert and then sit down to enjoy it and the other side was a plant store, so for anyone who is a plant lover, make sure you check this cafe out because you can enjoy some delicious bingsu and also look at plants and even buy one or two if any catches your eyes. We decided to order two different mini bingsu to try! The first one was the sticky rice and mango, and the other one was the Thai tea with black bean! Perfect portion size for an individual but you can definitely share one too! The sticky rice that you get with the mango bingsu was delicious! Hot and sweet from the coconut milk! The bingsu itself could of had a little bit more flavor but overall they dessert was delicious! Overall, I really love this cafe and would definitely come back! When we were there, there was only one worker and I give her a lot of props for giving everyone a great service since she was by herself! It was getting busy and she showed no stress at all and was very calm about taking care of all the customers so thank you!

Mango and sticky rice bingsu was so good! Sticky rice came in the side, warm and just the right amount of sweetness. Fresh mango of perfect ripeness. Creamy almost ice cream like bingsu. No sauce. There's good amount of seating and even a plant shop! Very limited parking though so I parked nearby and walked

Stopped by on a Monday evening we were the only customer. We were greeted by a young lady who was at the cash register. She also was very kind in making recommendations. I got the coconut drink with a 3D bear. I really enjoyed it. It was the perfect touch of sweet. My husband got the mango sticky rice. He loved it. & said he drive out just for that dessert. We also got the cheesecake waffle. Neither of us liked it. It was too sweet for our taste. & the pink drizzle has an interesting taste to it. The 3 stars really comes down to the place. They have a section of plants where they have humidifiers running. The place felt muggy & cold. It also had a very cluttered feel to it. Definitely not the cleanest. We would come back but not to dine in.

Really unique spin on Korean shaved ice and desserts. The shaved ice was so creamy and light. I got the strawberry cheesecake and thought that was just a flavoring when to my surprise I found real cheesecake at the bottom. The presentation of the dishes are so cute and their shop is just a lot of fun to visit with their thoughtful decor. It's really nice to find a dessert place that opens til 8. I am excited to be a regular visitor here!

One of a kind desserts! All the shaved ice options are amazing - you must try it and you will come often!

Let me preface this review by saying, I CRAVE Bubble Tea.. and I've been seriously forcing myself to avoid checking out the new Kirkland location of Kakigori Dessert Cafe, which is literally down the hill from my home. This place was formerly in the location of the Siam Clay storefront (gorgeous plants and pottery/planters with a coffee bar) which closed after a year or so. Luckily for locals, they put up a new temporary banner announcing Kakigori (right next to the new massage place, YOLO), or I would have continued to drive past this place. After checking out their YELP reviews, I discovered that this wasn't primarily a boba teas place-- it's SO MUCH BETTER!!! Kakagori specializes in snow-ice, or it's proper Korean name, Bingsu. For those of you poor souls who have not yet experienced the joy of Korean snow-ice, this is a delicate fluffy snowlike dessert made with a milk-based ice with sweet toppings. But believe me, this description does not do it justice. So this past week, I caved, and visited the dessert cafe. The interior is beautiful and relaxing, with half of the space dedicated to seating, surrounded by gorgeous plants and even a photo op living wall type backdrop for folks who like that sort of thing. The other half is the order counter, with the menu items posted and described, including many interesting choices of hot and cold tea and coffee drinks. The star of the show for me of course was the Bingsu, and although I was pulled by descriptions of Black Sesame toppings, I opted for the Mango with a side of sticky rice. Let me tell you: the presentation was gorgeous, with a tall cup of the snow ice (with condensed milk/milk base) which sounds overly sweet but which was just sweet enough without being cloying. The organic mango cubes on top were perfectly ripe, and the sticky rice side was warm and sweet, offering a perfect bite of cold snow ice, tangy tender mango, and warm sweet sticky rice. I was all solo, but found myself exclaiming out loud, "Oh...my....god!". The sweet young proprietress came out to check how I like it, and laughed when she saw me swooning. She said that one and the black sesame were her favorites too. A young mom and her 6 yo came in and ordered the watermelon mini (not mini) which also looked divine. Menu items range from matcha mini with red bean and mochi, to Thai team with red bed and mochi, to Vietnamese coffee with ladyfingers and red bean and so on. There are also Croffles with toppings, and then a whole array of drinks: bubble mile teas, hot Boona Boona coffees, teas etc. The atmosphere, the quality and the great service offset the high prices ($9.95 for the minis were actually NOT minis, but even shareable). WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD~ lets support them so they become a part of our community!

We had seen several…read morepop up in the past, but hadn't seen anything interesting in the past few months, so we dropped in to ask about them. Apparently rather than being prescheduled most of the time, they are held on demand. We asked for an Oolong tasting session and was able to get one penciled in a couple of weeks later. The store itself is appropriately decorated for a modern and trendy tea shop. There's a bit of an overpowering perfume that lingers throughout the store. It's not the best setting for a tea tasting, especially when trying to differentiate tasting notes when the olfactory glands are already completely saturated with perfume. LizzyKate has a decent selection of true tea, nothing super unique or rare, but I think they lean towards the more accessible blends and tisanes in the first place. Oolong Tasting Class ($35/per person) - Tasting sessions are held in the bar area, brewed mostly using gaiwan with carefully measured water temperature and volume. The class provides some educational material including laminated papers describing the tea production process, growing regions, anatomy, etc. More importantly, unlike some other tasting sessions I've attended, they actually provide pencil and paper, along with brewing instructions, to write down cupping and tasting notes. It certainly beats taking notes on my phone as I usually do. For this course, we tasted a white tea and four different oolongs. My personal tasting notes as follows (for future reference for myself): Bai Mu Dan - Mild, mellow, sweet and slightly astringent flavor with notes of honey and hay. Light golden liquid that's very easy to drink. Tie Guan Yin - Caramelized sweetness, vegetal leafy with a tiny earthy element. Darker golden color with more astringency and round lingering taste. The leaves smell smoky and roasted. Baihao - The smell is distinctively roasty and earthy, approaching the fermented smell of puerh. It has a brownish color and tastes smoky and earthy like peat. Formosa Oolong - It tastes of malt and molasses, with a certain oxidized toastiness. The color is more dark brown although it's not very astringent given the color. Osmanthus Oolong - This smells more malty and surprisingly not that flowery in aroma. The mouthfeel is extremely creamy and silky, almost like milk with the balanced taste of barley and hops with only a slight osmanthus flowery taste in the background. I think the base used is Jin Xuan given the milkiness. With the tasting also comes some treats including mini muffins and some tea infused bars from a chocolatier in Singapore, Fossa Chocolate. I think LizzyKate is more geared towards people who don't have much experience with tea and want a place that's extremely welcoming and modern. They have lattes and plenty of herbal and fruity infusions to help beginners ease into the complexities of tea, While this shop isn't for me, more tea shops are always welcome in the area. I'd definitely recommend it to my friends who want to dip their toes into the world of tea. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

However, the royal milk tea we ordered came out with boba. I obviously didn't notice until after we took our photos, left the shop, and took a few sips, so we went back in to let the staff know. First, she said she would re-use the drink and sift out the boba to replace it with pudding. I declined that offer and requested they make a new one. Then, another staff member joked saying she would drink my already drunk from, old boba. Then, they threw it into the trash. Talk about waste :( finally, they remade it but gaslit me telling me that I had actually ordered boba, and they didn't believe me that I had actually put in pudding.
