We called Kalahari Electric in a panic because when the power went out in our house, an old house system went on and would not turn off. Additionally, the alarm was on the same breaker as the refrigerator. They very kindly walked us through how to find the power source for this alarm and disengage it. All at no charge. You can't find service like that these days! We are so grateful to Kalahari Electrical and will certainly be using them for all of our future electrical needs! read more

These guys were great! I called early in the morning (maybe 6am) and Paul helped me immediately. Half my power was out and it was very confusing! But he told me what the issues may be, suggested I call Georgia Power, told me what to say to them so they would come out, and put me on the schedule in case for the day. He also told me that Georgia Power would come out pretty quickly (he was right!) they came out 1 hour 45 mins and it was the issue on their side and I no longer needed an electrician. The customer service and help even without having to come do a service call was excellent and shows that these guys are trustworthy and not just trying to take $ from you. Contacted Kalahari again. Hired someone to install a ceiling fan, but, there was a challenge in connecting the fan to the switches on the wall. Once again, professional electricians to the rescue! I had a service with Kalahari Electrical Services on October 16 th 2023 with Mr. Josh. He is knowledgeable and did a good job to fix my dining room chandelier light. But I am not happy with charges , I paid for them. There was a $69 dispatch fee for the virtual looking for the problem. The dining room light was not working. I asked him what is the virtual problem about it? Then he told me that he has to open the connector at the ceiling.He told me that there is a charge for $199 for to fix for one unit. I agreed and he checked it and find out that there is neutral wire connecting problem. It is not connected properly. He connected it properly and also checked the main power outlet and the fuse boxes. Usually, when we call and perform these kind of job and we agreed to perform the job, they shouldn't charge the dispatch fee? But unfortunately, they charged both. $69 + $199 = $268 Most companies don't do that. read more

KALAHARI told me I would need a permit from Gwinnett County before they can come out and fix it! permits are not required for repairs apparently the person I talked to did not know that! if you want an electrician without a clue these are your people. My go to electrician. Kalahari has done multiple jobs for me over the years including wiring a new home theater room, installing a Tesla charger, and troubleshooting landscaping lighting. They are always very responsive, present their diagnosis of an electrical issue in detail, and give me all available options and costs for needed repair. They recently helped diagnose an electrical issue that actually stemmed from the Georgia Power service coming from the street and then contacted Georgia Power on my behalf to coordinate the repair. We have a rental property that was in need of a few electrical repairs. We coordinated with Kalihari to enter the unoccupied property via a lockbox as we were out of town. The repairs were completed but some drywall was removed to access the junction box and we were never told about the drywall removal. In my experience any electrical or plumbing repairs done do not include repairing the removed drywall. But the fact that drywall was removed was never communicated to us was an issue. When we went to check out the electrical repairs we found they were complete and well done...but we also noticed a poor drywall repair on the wall on the backside of the junction box, unpainted. We informed Kalihari, they acknowledge the miscommunication and we were assured that our situation would be remedied. To our pleasant surprise when we subsequently returned to the property we found the area where the drywall was removed had been professionally repaired AND painted. We are not sure if the drywall man found the matching paint in the storage closet or he obtained a color match at a paint store. Either way I consider this level of service and attention to detail far beyond what I expected. I highly recommend Kalihari! read more

They replaced our electrical panel and since then we have spent over $1k fixing what was (suddenly and mysteriously according to the owner) broken after the panel was replaced. Below is the list of things that have either had to be replaced or had to be fixed. For the full story (it's a novel) check the screenshots. 2x surge protectors (replaced) 1x light switch (owner fixed, begrudgingly) 1x outlet (owner fixed, begrudgingly) 1x dryer**** ****After replacing the dryer which was delivered yesterday (9/2/20 proof in pics) we have discovered that it is the outlet that the dryer is plugged into that doesn't work. We still replaced the dryer but apparently we didn't need to. When the owner came out to look at the old dryer, HE NEVER CHECKED THE OUTLET, JUST TOLD US THE DRYER WENT BAD. Please use another company, this one has caused us nothing but headache and empty wallets. read more

Jan asked if he needed to come right away which wasn't necessary, but I scheduled an appointment for the the next morning. We definitely feel overcharged after paying $200 to replace 2 smoke detectors that took less than 30 minutes to install. A package of 6 is less than $50. Not very customer friendly to do business like this. I will not use again for sure. read more

We called this company because they were recommended by Jackson EMC and we needed services immediately. The worker that came out said it wouldn't be over $400 max. They guy came out but didn't have the necessary equipment to fix the issue. He went to home depot and came back with the wrong equipment. The home renter ended up driving the guy back to home depot in his own vehicle. Then he had to drive him to the other side of town to pick up his help. They got back and eventually got the work finished. What we were told was a simple job ended up taking four hours and two trips to the hardware store. Then the guy ended up charging us $650 instead of $400, I don't feel we should have had to pay extra due to his multiple trips to the hardware store or his trip to pick up help especially since our renter drove him. We hired them for three days..... there workers smelled of weed and body odor. I can deal with the weed and body odor, however on the fourth day they simply did not show up. Seriously the best electrician I've ever had. He was wonderful. My power blew out and he came right over in the middle of rush hour traffic while I was trying to get ready to leave for a show- he hung out at the house until it was fixed and even brought us chip clips with the company name on them. Restaurant owner, called their phone and they sent someone right away. I had to leave for an hour and came back to a $355 bill for locating a GFI that had tripped (took 45 minutes). Called them back to ask if this was their price and they said yes, actually could have been more!! Then they called me back, only to be told I was being "sarcastic" with the technician (actually he called me, not their manager or phone receptionist) because I said "GFI's should be where there's water and there's no water here". When he asked if there was a GFI I said "I don't know", if that's being sarcastic then so be it! $355 for 45 minutes of nothing, pressing a button and leaving. They might be great but for crying at loud warn the customer this is going to cost an arm and a leg!! Not using their services again, that's for sure. I was using my microwave to heat Sunday (key word) lunch when it went out and took part of the kitchen and hall lights with it. Since the circuit was not tripped and everything else was working I was at a loss for the cause. I called a couple of other electricians who could not promise anything until Monday at the earliest.
