Among all kalaveras locations, this would be a middle of the road locale. Ambiance is mediocre, loud people were a bit rude, music wasn't the best but tolerable. In contrast, the drinks were colorful. My date enjoyed her food, but she did say it was a bit bland and dry. The exterior was ample, good parking, the seating outside was comfortable and lively. Overall, the server and the bar attendant were responsive and courteous. What made the night was that it was a family oriented environment, the drinks were of good taste, and lastly, the location was calm. Moreno Valley bringing in some new vibes! Love the location and the food is yummy. The only thing I think gets me every time is our bill adds up quick here. It's good as a dinner or lunch but our average bill for 2 here is $150+ which is ok for drinks included. But sometimes we go add just order appetizers and one drink and our bill is still the same range. Just a thought singles and people trying to just make a date night be prepared all drinks are $18 and up and appetizers $22 and up. read more

This place is the best. Food, service, drinks, happy hour is all ON POINT. I love the shrimp cheese tacos. Very artistic in their decor and presentation. My only complaint is the nasty music videos that are playing on almost every wall. I don't mind the music, but I can't take my kids here because those videos are pretty raunchy. Ambiance: So, I'm torn. Because I wouldn't necessarily call it family friendly because they do play music with some language. But it isn't terrible. But the vibe is definitely dope. Perfect for dates or hanging for friends. Very laid back. Music and tvs playing. I'm assuming they utilize the tvs for sports when sports are on. But they had music videos of what was playing on and it was cool. I enjoyed it. Service: I'm huge on not walking by a customer and not addressing them. Stop, say I'll be with you in a moment. Something. That didn't happen but service was great after that. After that, service was great. Waitress was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Had a great experience there and looked like others were having a good experience as well. Food: we got a couple of items. The drinks were great. You definitely tasted the alcohol lol which is what is important when ordering a drink right? Kudos to the bartender. Had the horchata colada and Chupacabra margarita. Both recommended. I got the Huevos Rancheros, 3 out of 5. Just didn't hit the sweet spot for me but others at the table enjoyed it. The Barbacoa was a big hit at the table. Those plates went back clean. Worst kalaveras I have been too. I went on a Wednesday evening, no lemonade, no non alcoholic beer as all other locations I have been to do, food was horrible, specially the dry old shrimp used for shrimp enchiladas. The fajitas were made totally different than other Kalaveras spots. I did not know theres a service charge for 6 people around $35 +tip. Definitely not worth the price at this location. read more

We went here on a Sunday afternoon. Parking is plentiful. The interior is a total Insta vibe, and service staff was very friendly. The food we ordered was yummy with portions much larger than your standard sushi roll (It takes two bites to get through each piece). Only downside to report is I would have liked to have a separate small bowl for the soy sauce and ginger. That being said, the rolls had so much flavor on their own that it doesn't really need the soy sauce. I just happen to be accustomed to eating sushi with soy sauce and ginger on the side. read more

Visited on a weeknight for dinner. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to be seated right away. The food was very good. Between our party of two, we had the Barbacoa plate and three individual tacos: pescado (fish), asada (steak), and comote (sweet potato). The barbacoa was good. As for the tacos, it was hard to choose a favorite. Each had its own distinct flavors, which were delicious. If I had anything negative to point out, it would be that the sweet potatoes maybe should have been a little bit softer but still good. Also, these weren't little street tacos. These were a regular sized taco- filled up! We had a drink presented as a special, called the Kalabash. The description is that it is a 'blend between a classic margarita and daiquiri'. The flavor that stood out was the fresh passion fruit. If you like passion fruit, then this drink is for you. It was served in a little clay cup garnished with we're not quite sure of? Agave leaves? And something else that held a flame for a minute or two! It was fun! Speaking of fun, the atmosphere was lively. There were many screens on the walls playing music videos almost at a night club level. The walls have flourescent street art type murals of what else but skulls. Very cool. The service/customer service was very good. There were very attractive employees hostessing and checking on the tables to make sure things were satisfactory. The bill was presented timely, and the cost for two people was decent. Tacos were $5-6, the barbacoa, $26. Would we go back? Hmmm, the food was delicious and the service was very good. This was my first time in and I decided to give it a try while meeting some friends for a brunch. I had heard mixed things. We arrived around 11 and were seated right away. Mimosas also came right away ha ha the service was wonderful and the pricing was great for the buffet and bottomless drinks. It is a lively place, lots of celebrating birthdays and such but just a fun place. I don't know if it would be my kind of Friday night spot but for a brunch it was great. I am very impressed with Kalaveras. The restaurant itself is very nice and am happy to see they were able to transform the space into something unique. Great place to grab drinks with friends. I would say it is more adult-oriented although that doesn't mean you can't bring children. From the plates and the glasses they use, you can tell they wanted to make going to the restaurant an experience. The cocktails were very good and had great presentation from using custom clay pot cups, fresh ingredients, and cool garnishes. The food looks fantastic and are plated exceptionally, using custom made cutting board blocks with their name branded on them. Not only was the presentation good, but the food itself was was worth the visit. I ordered the Cali Burrito, which is pretty readily available at any Mexican restaurant in Southern California, but with the quality of ingredients it made it well worth the order. The burrito also came with a side of beans and fried plantains which were also very good. I would say the prices are worth the experience but this place is for sure more expensive than most restaurants for the area. Overall, this place was very good and I would come here again. read more

My friend and I usually go in and have dinner at Kalaveras after work to meet up and we decided since it was dia de las madres yesterday, we'd go and see how they are spoiling las mamas. We were there at about 4 pm, during happy hour and we were told there were no specials. All happy hour and specials were taken away for the holiday, Mothers Day. What??? I was told that corporate said to remove all specials and discounts! They advertised a Mother's Day drink that was $16! I asked if corporate has mom issues and I was so disappointed, we left to chilies and these two mamas got a margarita for $6 each. We won't be back since they don't give a crap about moms. read more

I went to this location to celebrate my partners birthday, upon arrival, I was asked if it was someone's Birthday, and I stated yes. We had our birthday dinner and drinks, the servers came to sing, Happy Birthday, and everything was going fine up until that point. It wasn't until I got home that I realized I have been charged $75 for them to sing happy birthday and do their little show. When I called and spoke with the manager Jorge. He stated that the server and informed me that it would be a $75 fee. I tried telling him that I was not informed of this, and if I knew that, that was the case I would not have agreed to it. I tried to inform him that I didn't even request it, I was approached by the server. Jorge was anything but helpful. Right from the start he was completely dismissive and didn't even try to hear my side, the entire bill was over $800. I was not disputing anything else other than the $75 that I was not informed of. Just because of this small inconvenience he was nothing but rude and not helpful and due to that reason I will never be returning not only to this location, but any other. I tried providing him with my receipt information and he was not having it, I asked him if he can pull footage and he completely dismissed it saying that he wouldn't be able to hear the conversation anyway. This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences that I've ever encountered. read more

We ordered the queso fundido (which was better the first time I had it), wet burrito, tacos and salmon- we thought it was good, not great but good. My husband said his salmon was a bit dry and my daughter said that they could have done better with the burrito and tacos. Bless my server Blancas heart! She was awesome and very attentive. Super informative on how they cook the food and sauce etc that come with the plates. The food did come out very fast. But although they have a speedy service their food is terrible. 1) Culichi roll was overly deep fried, it was cutting up the top of my mouth. The salmon was way over cooked. The dark sauce they put on top is way too sweet for the roll. And the red onion just did not pair well with the roll. 2) Salmon plate, the asparagus was drenched in oil and overcooked. The mango sauce for the salad was way too sweet, couldn't even use it as the dressing. The salmon was cooked liked I wanted but had no seasoning. Very bland. 3) Kali burrito, bland just a regular burrito nothing special. Beans, also nothing special. Also, FYI the sauce they put on the mojado burrito is the same sauce they serve you with your chips! I have never heard of that.
