On the weekend went to go have lunch was craving fajitas had them there before. We ordered and got our food but noticed that the vegetables seemed raw so I tasted them and also no flavor. Very different than other occasions. I asked the waitress for them to cook the vegetables and add some seasoning because they are bland. She came back and said they don't season them. But they would do it this time. She brought the plate back but with out beans and the rice that the original plate had. So waited about five minutes for her to bring them back. Very bad experience. I don't think I would go back

I probably eat at Jose's 2 to 3 times a month. Every time I get excellent friendly people greeting me and taking my order. The food and margaritas are delicious. It's truly one of the best in town. Nobody can beat their chile rellanos! is excellent every time.

Chips & four kinds of chile salsa (there were two more kinds to choose from totaling six flavors) sure to please every member of your group!

Excellent food! Service could not have been better as we had two or three staff check in on us! Ambiance is outdoor patio style indoors. The natural slate stone tiles and wicker canopies at each booth are a nice texture. We really love to eat here and sometimes bring out-of-towners who want great authentic Mexican cuisine. This meal was more than worth it! The value is there at $70 for the two of us and we brought home what we could not finish for another meal at home.

Coming from the Midwest where Mexican food was mediocre at best (it may have improved by now), the food really impressed me. Shredded beef tacos, burritos, salsa bar, and endless tortilla chips? Yes, please! Over the years, I marked some changes in the food and recipes. Nevertheless, Jose's is a good spot for lunch or dinner with the family. This location on Pigeon Pass and Ironwood has a similar layout to the Redlands store, but it's easily 3x larger in terms of where diners can sit, including a covered patio. My crunchy tacos were very good, not as crunchy as I remembered, but still, well executed. I especially liked the Mexican rice and the beans. I didn't go to town on the chips and salsa, but left feeling like it was a good value for the quantity and quality.

The food was okay but the services was NOT good. This restaurant is like any fast food restaurant. We got the carne asada nachos and the grilled chicken platter. Portions size are big.

So they raised there prices so much that it's just not worth the price anymore. Instead of small increment increases they went up at least a few dollars. Well I guess I need to find another restaurant. Good luck to Jose's with the new prices. The bowl below cost $13,48 and was not even full of product.

A good, local place in Moreno Valley for a fast-casual meal. You order from a counter and there are some coolers nearby where you can pick from a decent selection of beers (don't recall if I saw any wines). A server then brings your food to the table. You have to get your own utensils, condiments, chips and salsa, etc... This isn't my favorite way to dine, but we wanted brunch on a Saturday in MoVal and every diner was absolutely packed. We had heard that Jose's does offer breakfast/brunch, so we ended up here. The lunch/dinner offerings are pretty standard Mexican fare. Brunch offerings included an impressive-looking French toast that swayed one of my friends. It was as good as at any diner. My breakfast scrambler with bacon, eggs and cheese was similarly good. Everyone's food was fine. Nothing special but definitely not bad. If there was no place else available for a casual meal, I'd come back to Jose's. I do prefer wait service and being able to get a freshly made Margarita or Bloody Mary with my meal, and I did think that the restaurant seemed to be not particularly clean. Our table felt sticky, some tables were sitting un-bussed for long periods of time and the salsa/condiment area was a bit of a disaster. But you could definitely do worse for a quick, inexpensive meal.

Solid 4 stars. Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is tasty. There's plenty of parking. Prices are reasonable. My husband ordered some kind of chicken burrito and loved it. I ordered regular sized nachos and added carne asada. It was very tasty. But it felt like they were a bit too conservative with most of the ingredients. I got plenty of chips and salsa. But very little cheese, beans, or meat. To drink we tried the Jamaica and Piña Colada. It tasted amazing! It's a cute place. Bigger than I expected when I walked in. They have high booths. It's like a high table, but using booths in stead of chairs. Would come back. read more

Pros- chips and salsa bar, drink selections, some menu items are reasonably priced. Cons- food is a hit or miss, doesn't really hit the spot, bill can be high for only 2-3 people to eat. This is a place you come to when everything else is too busy or too far. read more

You have to pay to add salad dressing to the taco salad. Not just a 50cents type situation, No, it's $2. Quite ridiculous considering salad is literally in the name of the item and salads traditionally are eaten with salad dressing. Ugh. read more

the food is always good and fresh, their daily specials has something for everyone, excellent fast and friendly service,great atmosphere in this sit down family casual restaurant. last nights planning commission meeting showed just how much love moreno valley has for this restaurant and as i stated during public testimony as a 37 year resident who loves everything about this city and its diversity there are four legacy restaurants in this city that family's can enjoy for any and all occasions and the Steer and Stein on JFK and Perris, Joes Italian and Dragon House both on Allessandro by Elsworth Ave and Joses Mexican Food stand head and shoulders above the rest. thank you to all of the residents who showed up and supported their cause. read more

Sorry but this place is way too expensive. $11.39 for a kids plate?? That's crazy! Literally every other restaurant has kids plates for around $6-$9. For my family of 4 we spent $58! The food here is average, not worth the price. I used to come here like every week when they had the kids eat free Wednesdays. read more

Tex-Mex but more on the authentic side of Mexican cuisine. Foods pretty decent and I like that it's fast casual but still feels like a comfortable sit down restaurant with booths. My good friend frequents and likes their chilaquiles but I have yet to try it. Self-serve salsas and fixins. Honestly their salsas are just alright and wish they had something spicier. read more

Highly recommended if you're looking for a neighborhood restaurant with high quality dishes. My son and I love meeting up at Jose's in MoVal where we enjoy starting off with the best Michelada in town and also the very best carne sada you're ever going to find in Riverside! It's grilled and smoked, and so so tender. The staff is friendly and attentive, and nice seating both indoors and out. read more

@josesmexicanfood killed it today. After watching Cry Macho with Clint Eastwood I was craving Mexican food and José's delivered. I had the lingua and carne asada street tacos prepared Mexico city style-with cabbage, chipotle crema and cilantro, the shrimp enchiladas and fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp. The street tacos were full of meat and the lingua was especially tasty. I felt it was cooked perfectly. I've had it at other places and it was a bit chewy and/or slimy and this was not the case at all. It was great. The green sauce on my shrimp enchiladas was good and there were plenty of shrimp inside. The portions were so big, I could only finish one enchilada! The fajitas were fabulous. The chicken was moist, hot and seasoned to perfection and the steak was so tender. It's hard to say which was better. The shrimp was plump and succulent too! Excellent fajitas all around. I would definitely come back and try more menu items, like the red sauce dishes and chili verde. Great job today José's. read more

Have never been to a Jose's before & let me just say this will NOT be the last time either! I love that they have unlimited chips, salsa as well as the aguas frescas. Let me also add in that you can't beat that they have deals Monday-Sunday! The customer service was great we ordered & sat down they brought our food to our table & the food was absolutely amazing! The overall value of the food was good. I had the asada and carnitas tacos, definitely the carnitas tasted better of the two. Ordering is done at the front counter and they bring the food out to you. There is a self-served salsa bar which is very convenient with multiple options to choose from and the chips are self-served as well. The fountain drinks, ice teas, and coffee is also self-served. The restroom was a little dirty, but maybe they just didn't clean that day. The staff did take the time to check on tables, which was appreciated. read more

Ok, went to Jose's for brunch today, about 12:30. Started out ok, lots of choices, and a pretty awesome menu. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. Food came out about 10 minutes later. The server told me she would be right back with the tortillas. She never came back, and when I found her after eating the food, she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. No apology, no I'm sorry, let me get them for you, and no taking them off my bill. So, here's my review: 3 stars for the food. (It's just ok) 1 star for the service. 2 stars total average. I had high hopes that Jose's would be good, but Jose's just did not deliver. read more

BEST green salsa in moreno valley so far! I am a salsa girlie and their salsa bar is FIRE. 3 red salsas 3 green and all delicious! Plus tons of veggies and toppings! The chunky green is the perfect level spicy and I always fill up on that before I can even get to my food. Shrimp cocktail is delicious and fresh. Big burritos and good kids menu. Also the mango margaritas with fresh fruit are fire! It's not like authentic homemade tortillas and whatnot but for a cute little chain it's my favorite !! read more

This was such a wonderful place with great staff! It was my boyfriend and I's first time here and they walked us through the (very confusing) menu and helped us figure out what to eat for dinner! I got the three item plate with enchiladas and tacos. My boyfriend got their shrimp tacos and wow, they were so good and had this amazing avocado like sauce on it! When we finished eating, the cashier came up to us to make sure that everything worked out okay and asked if we would like more chips and salsa and of course we obliged! This was a great experience and I will definitely come again for the shrimp tacos! read more

The small family-owned restaurant in a lazy strip mall in Moreno Valley provided some of the most amazing Mexican food in Southern California. We visited midday on Sunday and the place was only about a third full, with plenty of indoor seating in booths and tables. You order at the counter and the friendly young woman guides you through the menu prominently featured on the wall. So many different options. For our group, we went with the King Burrito, the Carne Asada Torta and the Beef Taco and Enchilada Plate. Within 10 minutes, the nice young woman who took our order, came by with our drinks and shortly thereafter, our orders. The King Burrito I order was HUGE. Covered with an amazingly delicious salsa verde (mole or dry options also available), this 10-plus inch burrito was packed with Shrimp, Carne Asada, Home Potatoes, Mexican Guacamole, Chipotle Sauce & Cheese. Also came with a side of Sour Cream. Seriously, one of the best tasting burritos I have experienced, there is so much flavor with the surf and turf combination, that will make your tastebuds delight, and feel a little bit of heat in the process. My girlfriend's Carne Asada Torta was also delicious. She let me have a few bites and the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection, just like it was in my King Burrito. The sandwich was also quite large had plenty of stacked ingredients to offer. Overall, the quality and portions of the food here at Los Reyes are amazing. You get tons of value and huge portions to boot. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant (and restrooms) and clean and welcoming. Plenty of parking in front, with lots of space inside. I was forced to leave and purchase additional food from another restaurant at the last minute. I immediately called the restaurant to explain what had happened. Once again, the person who answered did not speak enough English to understand my concerns and placed me on hold. I eventually hung up and tried calling back several times, but the phone remained busy. I then drove to the restaurant in person because I wanted to give them the opportunity to explain what happened and make things right. After waiting quite a while, a gentleman finally came out, apologized, and said he would pass my information along to his boss. I never had the opportunity to speak with a manager or owner, and no one made any effort to resolve the situation or follow up with me. This wasn't just a mistake with an order--it was a complete failure in customer service, communication, and accountability. I gave this restaurant every opportunity to address the issue, and they failed at every step. I will never use Taqueria 2 Potrillos again for business catering, work lunches, or personal orders, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

There is something rustic & nostalgic about Jose's Mexican food at the same time you will also find a uniqueness in the flavors created here. Full disclosure: I do food photography for Jose's Mexican Food & I've visited all of them! You may think my review is biased. Understand that even though I have an estimated 200 customers around the country, I have only taken the time to write reviews for a select few on Yelp...few move me to praise. In my line of work as a food photographer it is natural that I would have a hands on experience & that I try most, if not all, menu items. I can honestly say that each of Jose's locations has the highest level of cleanliness. In fact, my family eats here & we are not from the Riverside area. Food wise, you start with the unlimited chips & salsa bar. They offer a variety of delicious salas! The tacos are the best & you have many meat options. The fajitas are topped with a generous dollop of their chipotle flavored cream. They grill their carne asada over an open flame & to give it a personal flare, they brush the meat with some type of tomato-based salsa that elevates the flavor. The pinto beans are simply perfection. The greatest of Jose's secrets is that all of their Margaritas are super delicious and are made with 100% Tequila! You won't find any agave wine here! I've also come to know their staff & everyone is welcoming. While speaking to shift management, I've come to learn that some of the employees, actually a lot of their employees, have been with Jose's for decades! I have been to many Mexican food restaurants throughout the Southwest... Even the highest rated in San Antonio, but I never ever tasted better Carne Asada. I always find myself comparing it to Jose's and it always falls short. Add lemon or lime to it, and it is HEAVENLY.
