    Large ice coffee OCT2025
    Franklin M.

This corner coffee house has been here for decades. This brick building with its typical old town vibe is television and movie famous. I've seen it in car commercials and movie thrillers. I ordered an iced coffee and it was pretty good but not the best and the quality hasn't changed over the decades.

Rose latte was a little sweet but I think I could just ask for less pump next time, overall not bad. The avocado toast was a bit small but it was tasty. My bf enjoyed the sandwich. The food didn't take long to come out and there was a handful of tables outside. The staff at the register were helpful in picking drinks/food.

Super cute coffee shop with a cozy vibe. The vanilla latte was great, and the pastries were delicious, perfect spot for a morning walk. Drinks were made quickly, and the owners are really sweet. Overall, I love the vibe here, a hidden gem in the neighborhood!

Hidden little cozy corner coffee shop in a very nice South Pasadena neighborhood. Ordered a Vanilla Iced Latte which was very good. Not too sweet and was strong. Also ordered avocado toast which was also good. My only complaint was that it was too salty. Definitely would return in the future.

Friendly service in a beautiful spot in South Pasadena. I just LOVE the window that looks out over the big fig tree by the library. My dog loves that fact that we go for a walk on the library grounds before and after we sit outside to enjoy our genmaicha green tea and biscotti. The avocado toast is also a favorite of mine.

This is a great local coffee shop hidden on a beautiful side street in South Pasadena. It's a very comfortable place to enjoy a hot drink with lots of places to sit/work inside and more tables out front of the old brick building. We had the Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte and a Dos Leches Latte. Both were flavorful, smooth & warm on a cold day. The staff was both friendly & helpful and the shop is cluttered but clean. There is ample street parking and it is a lovely area to go for a walk.

Zen out in South Pasadena... You can drop in from the Subway Station a couple of blocks from here... 2 hour parking in surrounding neighborhood for days... We're camped right outside the South Pasadena Library on Diamond Street... Feeling like a diamond in the rough... Everyone's so nice... Everything's so quiet here... I'll take a seat outside and watch the giant trees light up with the morning sun... And keep sipping on my dirty chai oat milk latte... Like I said... Tao of Kaldi vibeszzz

Located next to Pasadena library, this hidden gem has the best honey vanilla latte! It's absolutely phenomenal! The perfect combination of sweetness from the honey and the delightful aroma of vanilla make this latte a true treat for the taste buds. The baristas at Kaldi are always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you're a fan of lattes, I highly recommend giving their honey vanilla latte a try. It's a sip of pure bliss! It's giving me cozy vibes too! Not all tables have outlets because I was thinking to come here to do some work.

I've driven by Kaldi numerous times and always see people sitting outside enjoying their coffee, so when my darling girls mentioned they'd be in the area this place seemed like the perfect spot to meet up! I had no idea that Kaldi had been in the area for 29 years. The coffee shop is women owned and currently has a new owner, so disregard any previous bad reviews because she was darling! I didn't catch her name but she was working hard behind the counter and serving every cup with a smile. The shop itself is cozy. Plenty of tables to sit at and relax with a beverage and a pastry. It's a great spot to meet up with friends, read a book, or get some studying in. They support local artists and their artwork is displayed on the wall for purchase. Our order consisted of: Macchiato (Graciela), Mexican Mocha (Jessica), 3 espresso shot latte with oat milk (Te-See), and a Drip for me. We also shared a cheese Danish. I needed some extra fuel to help me finish a work project by a 1 p.m. deadline and the Drip did the trick. It was smooth & robust and gave me that extra boost. *Parking lot on the side of the building & free parking on the street.

Te-see is on a roll!!! I hit 2 new coffee shops this week...what??? Yes, damn straight. And this one is owned by a Woman!!!! Happy national Women's Month:) Thanks to my girl Nikki, she suggested we meet here with the beautiful Perez sisters, Graciela and Jessica. Had a college vibe with a sprinkle of "Portland," Oregon. Especially on another cold and misty morning. This coffee shop has been here for 29 years...Really? Who knew? New ownership now and well run. The owner was very friendly. She took my order which was ready in minutes. *My staple drink order: 3 espresso shot latte, extra hot with oat milk. Spot on! It was smooth, rich and hot!!! ~The girls ordered a macchiato, Mexican Mocha and small drip~ *Great location *Parking lot on the side of the building *Free street parking (read the signs!) *Plenty of tables inside and outside to enjoy a warm sunny day *Workable space

Venti doesn't mean large - Paul Rudd

Coffee culture in Europe is quite different than the US. The unique American coffee Culture has been slowing down for post pandemic era. But those local coffee bars have been safe haven for Casual date to entrepreneurs and intellectuals to exchange innovative ideas at the coffeeshop. ( Sorry Not Sorry Starbucks). This one, it s more personalized and stylized. 'Venti is Twenty' - Elizabeth Banks and Paul Rudd. ( google it if you don't know). So I am not here about a cup of Venti or a cute barista, Saoirse Ronan ( Lady Bird). I'm here for cheer the heck up over 15 years of local coffee bar since Role Models film released. Back in the day, I was in Brooklyn and day dreaming of SoCal. Hey, no more watching Yankee game and working at the restaurant. For sure, someone would knock on my door with Dunkin' coffee in East Coast but I made it to California. The very same spot Paul Rudd asked a large black coffee. As of today, a barista who look like Rooney Mara asked me how would you take the coffee, I'd say, " A large Black Coffee, pls. " FYC: woman owned Kaldi Coffee & Tea at serendipity South Pasadena. Just right across the library. And massive chocolate croissants!

We arrived just after they opened at 7am and were quite literally the first customers of the day. Thanks for opening your doors to us! This place is such a unique blend: part hip-hop vinyl shop, part artsy cafe, and all-around good vibes. The music selection is top notch, and I loved browsing the cute merch and randomly awesome stationery items. Service was super friendly. My husband had a great conversation with one of the guys behind the counter about the shop's minimalist decor, and we learned Two Kids has been thriving for 10 years. I hadn't been in since right around the pandemic, so it was heartwarming to see they made it through and are still flourishing. The espresso was absolutely luscious, and as a bonus, we got the prettiest latte art with hearts in our drinks, big love for that! Really wish I had more time to hang out on the comfy couches in the middle of the shop and soak in some vinyl tunes. Can't wait to come back and spend a morning here the right way, highly recommended!

It's small and cozy, but that just adds to the charm and creates this intimate, relaxing vibe. Highlights Great public parking behind the shop. The service is fantastic and the two guys that I met were genuinely friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. The shop has a sign saying no laptops inside, and honestly, I loved it. It turns the place into a true social space where people actually talk to each other instead of staring at screens. The seating is thoughtfully arranged facing the windows, so beautiful natural sunlight pours in and gives everything such a warm, uplifting feel. They make their own oat milk in-house, and it makes such a difference our drinks tasted absolutely delicious, rich and smooth. The whole place just has great vibes all around.

The one issue I have with them is they show a loyalty program in terms of entering your phone number -- if you order online as well as the register. But I've never gotten any points. I once asked the owner about it and he claimed that they do in fact give out items, and said he would check on it that night when I told him the situation. But he never actually asked my name and info, and I've still never received any points since, despite having ordered here about twice a week for the past several weeks. Found seating outside but moved some plates ourselves from one table to another to find shade for us the kiddo. Grabbed a high chair and got seating set up. A few folks were setting up to play music out on the patio. We ordered inside as expected, thankfully the line wasn't too bad at that time so it went smoothly, though the prices are still higher than the average mom/pop sandwich place (but we anticipated this). We waited a bit for food while the patio band played. Ambience was pretty nice. Our friend's sandwich came out first and about 5 minutes later our food came. However, the Arnold Palmer we ordered didn't arrive with the food so we asked if they'd come back to bring it, and we were told they'd be right back. We waited probably another 5 minutes but drink still didn't come so I went inside to ask about it and saw the drink sitting on the back counter. So I asked staff if I could pick up the drink and they handed it over. Our friend's sandwich (the Jester) looked pretty filling while wife and I ordered/shared the Crown Jewel with cheese and mayo on the side. The Crown Jewel was pretty meh overall. Wasn't as stacked as the Jester and the bread fell apart as I ate it, despite the mayo on the side. At the end of eating someone came by to grab our order numbers and ask how things went. I commented on the wait for the drink and was told they couldn't find us, which sounded strange because they found us when bringing the sandwich and we still had our order number. But she said we could get a free refill. Since I wanted to take advantage of the refill I went inside to inquire but the order counter had gotten extremely busy. So I asked one of the bus/wait staff outside if they could grab my refill. He directed me inside and he commented how busy they were but I said I didn't want to wait in the huge line simply for a refill, so he offered to meet me inside to get the refill. Eventually I did receive the refill and we left. Overall, for the price of the food I felt the service was very average bordering on subpar, and the food was meh for the price. I don't blame the staff as they all seemed to be working very hard, but perhaps they were understaffed which would be more of a management issue. We basically bussed a couple tables on our own and waited what eventually amounted to 20-25 minutes for an ice tea/lemonade. I pre-tipped when I bought the food, which I kind of regretted but also felt bad that the employees were understaffed so I likely would have left a tip anyways. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. Wish the food and service were better

The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while.
