Stopped by this cute little coffee stand and all I could say is what an amazing coffee. The service was great and made me feel like I was getting a coffee cup with one of my Tias. Saw a cute little sitting area but was in a rush, definitely will be coming back to enjoy my coffee there. They had house music playing ! (My favorite ) and also picked up these cute chocolates. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a cup of coffee here, the coffee beans tasted smooth and didn't have that burnt coffee bean taste!

Best morning Joe w/ Gustavo walked into the space and sat at his coffee bar and welcomed the day with an amazing cup of black coffee. He was friendly, the location was inviting and I was able to feel the local el sereno vibe for my Friday morning. Don't miss this place!

Wonderful family-owned and operated coffee "shop." I use quotes because there doesn't appear to be an interior. They're set up in front of a bicycle shop but it's not a pop-up. There are tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk as well as a nice shaded area with tables on the side of the building. The family is Salvadoran and only uses beans from their coffee farm in El Salvador that's been in their family for generations. I had a fascinating conversation with them about the history of their family and the history of their home country. Lovely people. My new coffee spot.

In the few instances that I'm in the El Sereno area, I love a good Latin coffee shop and that's what I found in Cafe Juayua. The two baristas were super welcoming and the coffee is regionally sourced from El Salvador and delicious!

Such a hidden gem. I went for the first time a week ago and was amazed. The outdoor seating is lovely and the service great. There was a pop up serving menudo and tamales as well. It was all delicious! Community was out and the bike shop I ever next door was so hospitable. I will be back!

A delightful hidden gem with heirloom and single origin coffee from El Salvador. The owner is kind and passionate about the family business. They create a lovely ambiance with greenery, music and overall kindness. On Sundays they have delicious Latin American breakfast and a delay for all the vibes. Be sure to enjoy the homemade pastries you won't regret it!

Was looking for a coffee place to hit on the way back home before hitting the road and found this place. We were immediately welcomed in with open arms by who I believe was the owner. She showed us their art room explaining the deep rich culture of coffee and salvadoran history. The coffee was amazing and you can really taste the quality. Overall experience and food were amazing and they have really nice baked goods as well. I'd recommend to anyone that wants to try something new. Thank you Cafe Juaya from Niche noah and the gang

While doing drop-off duty for camp floggnaw, made a pitstop at this lovely little neighborhood family-owned coffee shop. Their coffee comes from family farms in El Salvador, and you can purchase their beans as well. Located next door to a bike shop (cycle n motion), this little shop perfectly embodies the small, local business you want to support!

Amazing service, friendly barista and very informative as where they get how they make their coffee. The coffee shop is small and its on Virgil near courage bagels so once you get your high priced bagel go an support them. I have to give it to my Salvadorian heritage, I am so proud to see how they are putting themselves out there to show not only amazing coffee we have but amazing people we are too. Coffee was so good and their designs outstanding! I will definitely be coming back.

Super good pupusas on some Sundays, go try them! Small hidden cafe with limited seating but worth the visit.

Cold brew latte with oat milk and agave. You can adjust based on your preference.

The cold brew latte with oat milk and agave is my go-to order, highly recommend! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is so peaceful with the sound of the water fountain and beautiful plants. There's seating available as well.

Their matcha alone deserves a 5 star rating. Best matcha I've tried in a while, added agave for some extra sweetener.

Service is efficient and our drinks came out decently quickly. This was around lunch time on a Sunday. As with almost every new drink or coffee place, minimalist aesthetic and a place for people to study and catch up I suppose. Wouldn't say it's the most unique. We got the: 1) Hojicha Latte: -We got this iced and you have the option to sweeten it with simple syrup or something else. We got this with a black sesame flavor and just the standard milk that it came with. -Not too sweet, but the taste of the sesame or even the hojicha can be a bit stronger as we've had similar drinks to this that were more appealing. 2) Iced Chocolate Milk: -I mean you can't really mess this up to be honest. It's mixed well and doesn't taste scathingly sweet like a bottled chocolate milk. My boyfriend got a no sugar coffee here and it still tasted pretty sweet (like unadjusted Starbucks sweet) and it was just tossed into my chocolate milk because he couldn't stomach it. Overall, it's just okay. I'm not really a coffee person, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

It's confirmed, one of my top three coffee shops in sgv! (And it's won me over more than many…read moretrendy LA shops in my book too) All the baristas are always super sweet and they take extra care for each order received, I noticed this right away when I discovered them last year! Other places tend to rely heavily on specialty drinks(like einspanners) and don't source the ingredients with as much thoughtfulness as they do. As a regular, I appreciate that their espresso is strong but also smooth and when I order a hot latte it's actually hot and not lukewarm, and the foam isn't too frothy but just the right amount of density. You can tell they try to perfect every step and as someone who spends all their money on coffee, I reallyyyyyyy appreciate this. The plus side is that they always open super early and you can order online for pickup(I've yet to do that but sometimes when I show up at opening there's orders already in the queue ahead of me!) All that aside, their matcha selection has got me in a chokehold, I will try and pace myself when I get a craving for it but will always come back to order their chiran. Thanks, leaflet, for giving me my caffeine boost for all those long work days before and beyond!

The coffee shop started at farmers markets and now the shop has the current brick-and-mortar location. [Parking]: There is a free parking structure behind the plaza so parking shouldn't be an issue; however, I did have to drive up to the third level of the structure to find an available parking spot on Saturday morning. [Amenity]: Not a huge coffee house with few outdoor chairs and six indoor tables. The shop was not crowded at 10 AM on Saturday, so it didn't take long for me to receive my order. There is no restroom inside the cafe, but keys for the outdoor men's and women's restrooms are available at the cashier counter. [Menu]: Unlike other matcha shops, this coffee house offers three different varieties of ceremonial-grade matcha (Kagoshima, Chiran, or Asanoka) from Fukuoka, Japan for customers to pick. Yelp's top three highlighted drinks are Furious George, Dear Jasmine, and Luxurious George. Please note that 2% lactose-free milk is the default and customers also need to choose one of two espresso options for lattes: light-medium roast (Manhattan - Ethiopia & Colombia) or medium-dark roast (Vietnam). 6/7/2026 BLACK…read moreTRUFFLE MUSHROOM DANISH The danish croissant had beautiful laminated, buttery, crispy layers. The béchamel was a bit clunky in texture. Good amount of black truffle flavor. Mushrooms weren't overly mushy and good flavor and texture. Gruyère cheese brought a lovely salty, cheesy flavor. Overall, okay, but not great. Arugula wilts and it was tough to eat after I reheated it in the toaster oven. I was advised to reheat the danish in the toaster oven before consuming, which I did. DUBAI PISTACHIO CHOCOLATE CROISSANT Rich and very pistachio-forward flavor! This was done well! Tasted like dubai chocolate in croissant form. However, the croissant was not as crispy and was on the softer side. Crispy kataifi on top brought that crispy texture. Savory unsweetened pistachio custard. The sweetness came from the chocolate drizzle over the croissant and the kataifi. Overall, enjoyed it! CHOCOLATE PECAN PRESSED CROISSANT Crispy, crunchy, flaky, buttery, caramelized layers! It does remind you of a flattened more crispier, buttery palmier and maybe even a mille feuille! The plain pressed croissant tasted like caramelized sugar with a buttery flakiness from the croissant. The chocolate pecan side was delicious with dark chocolate and crunchy pecans on top of that buttery, flaky, crispy pressed croissant! Recommend! 8 PCS ASSORTED MINI CHOUX SET You choose what flavors you want. I chose the following. Black Sesame Hoijicha - Strong hojicha flavor right off the bat! I barely taste the black sesame, except when you eat the black sesame paste at the top of the cream puff. When you bite into the whole cream puff, you only get the hojicha flavor. Very good and if you're a hojicha lover, you won't regret getting this! Taro Salted Egg Yolk - A new flavor that was added recently. You can taste the taro on top and the salted egg yolk on the bottom when eaten separately. But when eaten together, depending on where your tongue hits, you get more taro or salted yolk. Choux pastry is crunchy. This was delicious and definitely a repeat order too! I asked the owner and they will continue with this new flavor for now. They did not have the Koyamaen Matcha, when I purchased it via HotPlate. They ran out of it when I went to pick-up at the bakery, so they offered a refund or to replace with another mini choux. They brought back the Maple Pecan with Dark Chocolate Coating as a temporary replacement for the Koyamaen Matcha. But I opted for another Taro Salted Egg Yolk. Classic 64% Chocolate, Lemon Delight, Signature Biscoff Crunch were my other mini choux orders. All consistently delicious and done well. Please see my previous review on these flavors. RASPBERRY, ROSE & LYCHEE CROIFFIN This new edition was not part of Hotplate. I had to order it separately in-store. But wow, this was absolutely delightful! The cream had a pink color with swirls of raspberry compote and there were pieces of real lychee inside! The rose flavor was not overpowering, but complemented both the raspberry cream. The croiffin was flaky, crispy and buttery! This is my new favorite, very good and well done! I will continue to order this as long as it is available! JAPANESE BLACK SESAME CREAM TOP Love all things black sesame. So had to order this! This took a bit of wait time, much longer than expected. This was a simple latte style iced coffee with black sesame cream top. You can taste the coffee, but there was also milk in it, so it was a milkier coffee. Once you mix the black sesame cream top, all you can taste is the black sesame. So yes, it is a strong black sesame flavor in this drink. It was good, but not great to order for the second time. ONLINE ORDER Ordered via Hotplate.com. This has been the easiest way to order and pick-up. Super easy and not fussy at all! Once you order once via Hotplate.com, they give you the option for drop alerts via text when Browned goes live for future orders. You can also order directly via website as well. Make sure you have your confirmation email and order number ready for pick-up. CUSTOMER SERVICE Excellent service! They forgot to give me part of my online order and immediately called me and texted me making sure I won't leave without it! The owner and patisserie chef apologized, yet so relieved I did not leave without my order. She was so sweet and kind! I chatted with her as she was packing up my order. INDOOR + OUTDOOR SEATING AVAILABLE No seats for large groups. PARKING Free parking is available at The One Residential in basement P1. You can see Browned straight ahead as you arrive from the parking elevator. Personally, I recommend street parking. If you arrive before noon, there is free street parking right outside of The One Residential. It is much easier to drive out and also the parking garage is very small, dark and very narrow to drive through.

It is a bakery from Macau that focuses on crispy cream puffs that aren't too sweet. They come in unique flavors like Earl Grey, green tea, blueberry, and Dong Ding Oolong. I grabbed their six piece cream puff set for my first visit, as I wanted to try out more flavors at once. Luckily for me, I got some of the last few items as the owner explained that they tend to sell out. The puffs run a bit smaller than what you might expect from other competitors; however, it didn't deter me. The spot does not have a lot of seating aside from a few barstools, so you might have to plan for that. Once I got my cream puffs, the texture is what got me. The crispy outside gives a nice crunch when you bite in, then you get hit with soft cream filling that is "not too sweet". With clean flavors that come out without any artificial aftertaste, I really enjoyed what I had. The owner comes from Hong Kong as she used to run a bakery there as well before this. If you have the chance to talk with her you'll see how much she loves what she does. She lit up when asked about the flavors and shared a couple quick stories about her time there. Super friendly. Overall, I left happy and already thinking about when I should visit next. If you have been searching for a cream puff done a little differently, try Browned. You'll be surprised.
