Skip it if you want to feel like a welcome customer I've been to Kaldi's on Skinker a handful of times and generally liked it, but my last visit has me second-guessing a return. The person working the counter was visibly disinterested from the moment I walked up, no greeting, minimal eye contact, and an overall vibe that suggested I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. He took my order without repeating it back or confirming any details, and sure enough, it came out wrong. When I pointed it out, there was no apology, just a flat, borderline dismissive response that made me feel like I was the problem for bringing it up. I get that working a busy coffee counter isn't always glamorous, but a basic level of professionalism and a simple "sorry about that" go a long way. Neither happened here. The coffee itself is fine and other staff are lovely. But if you end up at his counter, good luck, when the service makes you feel unwelcome, it's hard to justify coming back when there are plenty of other good coffee spots in the area that actually seem glad you walked in. read more

Solid Kaldis location, parking can be tricky. I had a meeting here and it provided everything we needed. Spacious, plenty of seating, good coffee, and a warm atmosphere. Def an easy spot for Wash U students to come and study and grab some caffeine. Service was good and friendly. I'd return! read more

Had a delicious iced coffee at Kaldi's for the first time. Also got a hot coffee that was their flavor of the day/week, it had an earthy different taste to it. Cannot remember the exact names of them, but next time I go I will try to remember & add them. Service was nice, the baristas were friendly & helpful on what kinda of coffees they have & recommend to try. The ambiance is what I loved about this place. I love coffee shops that are relaxing, quiet, & ideal places to have coffee while reading a book or doing work on a laptop. It's been a while, or how in today's moment one says, "It's been a minute," that we've been here. I enjoyed visiting this coffee shop a few years back when I had a coupon for a drink, and just loved the area---the vibe. Came in, while staying nearby the loop, and was enjoyed an Italian breakfast sandwich (which I modified with ciabatta bread and recommend this way) and a apricot scone with an Ethiopian blend drip. The sandwich was very filling, and the scone was again(had before) delightful. The only drawback here is their wifi has a 2 hr limit. Something tells me this place must have been popular at some point with the WashU study crowd. read more

Barely heated milk for an extra dry latte. Nothing extra dry about it and this from an experienced barista. Maybe a bad day or just stale, this very busy shop maybe is so successful the "homeyness" factor gets lost. They usually do better and I'm sure they will. read more

Kaldi's is a nationally recognized specialty coffee roaster that I learned about through a coffee subscription service. So when I knew I would be in St. Louis I knew I had to find a location to enjoy some coffee and pick up a bag or two. I love this location because it's very rustic and makes me feel like I'm in a cabin in the Wild West. There are two spaces with plenty of seating for studying, meeting someone, or just enjoying a cup of coffee with a friend, family member or by yourself. I can imagine a lot of students from the local university probably enjoy their space for studying. The pastry good are top notch. I really enjoyed the gooey butter cake. The coffee is excellent and the staff are friendly and provide great service. read more

After wrapping up a run in Forest Park, I finished at Kaldi's for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The space is quite large and the staff is quick and kind. I was able to order a large cold brew and an English muffin, egg and cheese sandwich. It fully hit the spot. There's plenty of seating, and I snagged a bar stool at the window overlooking Wash U and the park. I would definitely recommend this place the next time you take a stroll on campus or on the surrounding trails. read more

I've never had avocado toast before but WOW, it's a shame that my first time trying it is probably going to be the best I'll ever have because it was absolutely delicious! Picture turned out so blurry but I had to try the iced ube latte! It comes in a gradient, with the sweet ube mixture on the bottom and espresso on the top, and when mixed together it was just right! I do like my drinks on the sweeter side though - but it wasn't overly sweet. I've also tried some of the brunch items on the menu which have always been very solid! The people are always very friendly and service is fast. I love the chairs here and ambiance inside - there's plenty of seating indoors (and some outside too if you want to bring your pup!) and it's a wonderful study environment. read more

I was very impressed with the flavors of everything! I loved how many types of chai lattes they had. My friend and i both tried the pumpkin chai and the chocolate chai - so freaking delicious. They had multiple alternative milk options. Our waitress was friendly and explained we didnt have to worry about parking, the sign out back was a bit confusing. She also made recommendations for us and explained everything. They bring your food out to you at the table which is dope. And the vibe of the place is super chill and has a nice rustic feel with wooden chairs. I super appreciate getting the coffee in a real mug instead of a paper cup especially since we ate inside! Love this Kaldi's, huge with lots of seating. Kaldi's easily has the best food, I usually get the breakfast bowl or burrito. They also make pastries fresh so it smells good here! A lot of windows so great natural light. I do not like their coffee, but this is a personal preference (me problem, not them)!! In for the weekend from Chicago to visit my daughter at SLU, and we decided to try Kaldi's for brunch, and LOVED it! I had a vanilla latte (excellentl) and my wife had a cappuccino (very good). My girls raved about their "spicy" avocado toast. We ate outside. My wife and I thought they were going to bring our drinks out with the food and when I went back in to check, they offered to remake our drinks! Caldi's is first-class. I've been frequenting this spot since I was in college & it was kayaks. The location makes for a nice place to work on account of the ski lodge like atmosphere and proximity to Washu. The food is pretty standard of a kaldis and ultimately a coffee shop but is indeed tasty. The biggest downside is for sure the parking. It's sucks. Flat out. The lot in the back is a crap shoot. The street offers some but is a one way after a couple hundred feet. read more

I was excited to receive a gift card to this business and asked for a recommendation for something vegetarian from the employee. They suggested the vegetarian burrito with aïoli and salsa on the side. It took over 20 minutes for the order to be ready, and when I received it, I didn't get the salsa on the side or the aïoli so I ended up with a very dry, bland burrito. The food at Kaldi's is solid, with some of my favorites being the egg bagel and avocado toast. The strawberry banana smoothie is great on a hot day! I was on my way to the St Louis Art Museum and was in search of a coffee spot, with something I could nibble on for breakfast. My plan quickly changed when I saw the scrumptious looking menu, and I needed tot Roy the breakfast bowl. It was delicious, filling and a healthy way to start the day. Came in the other day for lunch. Kayak's is rebranding itself to Kaldi's Coffee; I think the new sign had just gone up a few days before we came. Anyhow, the men has been updated from my previous visits, though I'm in town so rarely I hadn't noticed. I ordered the Superfood Bowl and it was amazing. So delicious! One of my favorite eats all weekend. It was big enough that I had some left over to save for today's lunch, too. Just as yummy the second day. Our service was friendly. They made a small mistake on my husband's sandwich order but fixed it very quickly. My only suggestion would be to add umbrellas to the outside seating area to shade from the sun. But inside was cool and they do have bar seating by the window if you still feel like looking outside and people watching. :) I love that Kayaks/Kaldis has many healthful options from which to choose. I usually don't get avocado toast but my friend recommended it to me because of the sauce and let me tell you...that sauce is amazing I don't know what is in it but it's like a spicy sweet hot sauce and it goes really well with the toast. I added an egg and bacon because I'm a sucker for add ons and I also tried their seasonal drink the Oatchata. I could drink 3 of these things. Love coming here! The staff is great. read more

I came to this location for a quick pick me up to try their seasonal cherry cordial latte. I ordered ahead for pickup and arrived at the estimated time. When I came in two employees were talking at the counter and I asked them where the pickup was for online orders. Then they realized they had missed making my order but apologized and got it out to me in a few minutes. As a college student, this is a great spot to study, hang out and have some lunch. The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. It's usually pretty crowded around lunch times with students. My problem is that the food is awfully expensive for what I believe the food is worth. I usually get the Super Bowl which is pretty yummy and around $14 including tax. I also had the turkey sandwich which I believe is a complete rip off because 85% of the sandwich was bread with a single slab of turkey, bacon and cheese but the whole time, I was wondering why they were being so stingy with the actually meat. I was still hungry at the end after paying a good amount of money. There were a few greens on the side but they were wilted and had no dressing. I was also surprised by the quality of the smoothies. Each smoothie is a little under $8! So I was expecting a high quality smoothie but what I got was chunky and grainy as if they hadn't blended it properly. The kale smoothies was basically a juice with chunks of kale inside; so not worth it. Another question: why are their iced drinks more expensive than the regular, even though there's less actual drink? Good news: I love their chai latte and iced coffee. I've gotten extremely disappointing pastries here several times but today was the first time I ordered a breakfast sandwich of egg, sausage, and cheese on a muffin. It was delicious and had a nice sweet mustard on it. Unfortunately, every time previous to now I'd gotten a pastry that looked good but tasted from bad to inedible. Every weekend we take a walk in Forrest park and end up at Kaldi's!! It's such a beautiful walk ended with some great food and coffee. My co to breakfast is either the avocado toast with bacon, or the Greek yogurt parfait. Both are very fresh tasting. They have a ton of great options for ready to eat and made to order breakfast/ lunches. They are healthy and filling. I love their chai latte's they have both Masala and Roobio chai. It's delicious! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is light and quiet. Perfect for studying or getting coffee with a friend. It's a very nice place with a lot of students which is it's primary clientele. That's not a bad thing, however snagging a table can be a hassle during busy times due to tables lingering around for long periods of time which I suppose goes with coffee houses in general. The food, it's very good and well priced. I had the Breakfast Sandwich and it was one of the better one's I've had. I also tried a scone and some of my girlfriend's bowl and both were very good so I would definitely recommend the food here. The staff works hard to run a clean ship as I noticed several workers running around to clean tables which is always nice to see. Overall, a very nice, clean coffee shop that can get crowded but has very good food that's well priced. Definitely recommended. read more
