We stayed in unit 105 for a week in July. This unit is rented privately by the owner and not through Kaleialoha's rental agency. The unit is nice, clean, and is on the 1st floor so you can walk out through the lanai onto the grass. The condo is right on the water. It's really a great location. At $165 per night is was a great deal. There is no air conditioning so the unit did get warm. Keeping the front and lanai doors open to let the breeze pass through helped. The complex is very quiet, the sunsets here are fantastic! it's a nice place to kick back and relax.

Kaleialoha will always hold an awesome place in my heart. I got to spend 8 perfect nights in room #308 and this condo was one of the highlights of this fantastic island. For starters, the unit itself was nice. Single bedroom, bathroom, with an in unit washer-dryer. But the real jewel was the ocean facing balcony. Up on the 3rd floor, you get a nice view of the ocean, the neighboring islands, and PERFECT turtle spotting. I MEAN PERFECT! There were countless days we'd relax in the afternoon, only to spot a few turtles swim by and I had enough time to grab my snorkel gear and go out and join them. The other awesome part of this condo is the private beach access. This was superb as I didn't have to travel down to Kaanapali or head over to a crowded beach if I wanted to catch some time in the water. Everything was picture perfect. Add in the fact that this condo itself has some nice amenities and a cool looking pool. Makes this the ideal place to stay if you want a relaxing time in Maui! Already planning on staying here again in 2017.

Kaleialoha Condominiums #207 Grounds:Older Property with wear and tear in elevator and on outside exterior. Grounds kept clean daily. We felt safe had no problems with neighborhood. Condo will make you forget all about the exterior. All appliances and etc.are up to date. Everything you need and need to cook is in the this condo. We grilled Salmon and made coffee every morning while watching the beautiful view. We never used any beach equipment but she has it if needed. Chairs, beach towels, cooler. We sat on patio daily. She has air condition in living room and she also has fans which was enough for us and my husband is HOT natured. We were comfortable in all rooms. Everything a hotel has this condo has but more. There is a ceiling fan in each room. Lonnie was attentive and answered all of our needs. I recommend #207. Compared to the resorts and hotels and their extreme prices. Kaleialoha is definitely the best choice for your money in expensive Hawaii. When you show your friends the pics they're gonna think you were at the Sheraton. It was only about a 30 mi. Drive to Kahului and almost 3 hour drive to Road to Hana from Condo. We did majority of our activites in Lahaina so this location was perfect. Lonnie explains everything you need to know about your stay, the do's and donts. Condo was great we recommend and would stay again.

Stayed here in room #406 for 1 week Dec 2015. AWESOME. DOES HAVE AC! many units do not. So easy to check in and out. All amenities nearby including beach, snorkel shop, gas station, super market, liquor store, restaurants, farmers market and spa to name a few. Pool not blocking the ocean view. Wake up to ocean sounds. Doesn't get too loud so rarely hear anything other than ocean from your balcony (Lanai). No smoking on Lanai so no smell. Very close to Lahaina without the touristy annoyances. One thing to know if you plan to cook bring your own spices and condiments or it gets quite expensive. Helpful and responsive care taker Loni was nice and responded to texts. Everything was pretty self serve so didn't really need much during stay. Would highly recommend for all above but mostly for the local and view. Unbeatable for the price.

We've stayed in 113 for the last 10 days and it's been perfect. Well-equipped kitchen with counter cooktop so I actually enjoyed meal prep with an ocean view. Comfortable bed, washer-dryer, beach chairs/umbrellas and ice chest for trips to beach...we lacked for nothing on this stay. This unit is actually wheel chair friendly, if anyone is looking for that (including shower). We will miss the lanai and all the meals we enjoyed there. Already booked for next year!

It is difficult to find the right deal in Maui when it comes to the balance between economical spending and adequate access and comfort. I would say this place did a great job of offering an alternative to the uberexpensive resorts 10 minutes down the road. Maui inflates prices on just about everything and you have to hunt well for prices to match your budget. We stayed in #304 and for the most part it was pretty awesome. It was like staying in your grandma's friend's beach condo... when she is gone. The kitchen was small but stocked with utensils, pots/pans, china, and newish appliances. Some of the furniture (pull out couch, tv stand end tables) look Hawaiian with a tad of old people style. There is a small washer and drier in the unit and all the closets are loaded with beach towels, coolers, and stuff you normally keep at your own place. Mostly prior owned stuff so it is a little like staying in some one else's place creepy. But I digress, the place has essentially everything... including a lanai/balcony equipped with a table and chairs for eating breakfast literally feet away from the ocean....everything BUT air conditioning. The place, despite open balcony, windows, and front door shutters, could get stifling humid and hot. We had a 4 month old with us so that was a small pain. Overall, this place was worth the price. Located close to Lahaina and all the fancy shops and resorts but tucked away from overly tourist-populated corners, it offers convenience without the added price tag. You get a much more relaxed atmosphere. PS: I do not recommend dragging around babies on your dream vacation

But it does have a lot of other things going for it. Our favorite is the location to the boardwalk and the super easy access to the most beautiful beach. Perfect for morning walks. Snorkeling is incredible there. Also turtles, sometimes dolphins, monk seals and tons of whales during whale season. You have to pay $90 for two beach chairs and an umbrella. $36 for just an umbrella. Parking is $35 a night. It all adds up quickly. If you want a lounge chair at the pool, you have to get up by 5 AM to get the one you want. They have activities all day and live music most nights- really enjoyable to sit by the fit pit, watch the sunset and live. The rooms are hit and miss. Sometimes we get an ocean view where you can see a sliver of water. Another time we were next to their laundry units, which were loud. Other times we were ocean front and it was incredible to watch the whales. The little kitchenette is perfect. They are well stocked. And I love that you can do laundry. They clean the rooms every two days but you can ask for supplies if you need anything.

When we arrived, our villa contained power tools, dirty dishes, and had clearly not been properly prepared for guests. What was even more frustrating was that it took three separate face-to-face visits with both the front desk and management before the room was finally cleaned. Communication throughout the process was poor, and we never felt that anyone took real ownership of the issue. The only compensation offered was a $50 resort credit, which did not reflect the inconvenience or the time we spent trying to resolve a problem that should never have existed. Beyond our room, both the villas and many of the common areas felt worn, dingy, and lacking the level of care we have come to expect from the Westin brand. The most disappointing aspect of our stay wasn't simply the condition of the property--it was the apparent lack of urgency and concern from management. We have always associated Westin with quality, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations. We hope management takes these concerns seriously because loyal owners and guests deserve much better.

The free valet was fantastic, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous ocean view. We had an issue with our mattress and it was never comfortable. That was the big bummer of the stay. They replaced our mattress after we said something but it didn't fix the issue. When we laid down, we always felt like where laying way back like toward the headboard, feet higher than our head. It may have been a bed frame issue. It wasn't the worst, we just ended sleeping the other way. You have to call housekeeping to get service. That was super easy and they did a great job. All staff on site were wonderful. The grounds were well-kept, and we loved spending time by the pool--there were a few different pools, each with its own unique feel. Surprisingly, we went down the slide several times (haha it's not just for kids). Duke's on the property was a big plus. They had servers taking orders pool side. The food trucks nearby were fantastic, dealing distance away, and so much variety. they're open u til 8pm. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back.

Also love keypad entry so you don't have to remember your keys all the time esp when at beach or pool. Love the outdoor grills and beer fridges on the villa balconies. Areas of feedback for the property: We found many of the units to have been in mediocre condition and poorly maintained. Two units have broken a/c's and a third was just barely strong enough. Also had WiFi issues, broken bbq lids, non operational patio fans, broken dishwashers. In the common areas, the gym has a decent set of weight equipment, but is comically small, almost infuriatingly and dangerously so. Every morning and every evening before dinner it was just so packed, you could barely do your sets without bumping into somebody at the machine next to you To add to that, the gym's air conditioning was broken all week (who knows how long before that?) which added to the discomfort. I'm a pretty easy-going traveler and have no problem when a couple of these happen from time to time but seeing them all occur is a clear sign of poor management by the ownership. My TLDR here is it's a good property, but shows extremely poor management and excessive cost cutting, and ultimately becomes a subpar product until that's addressed.

When we inquired about our room and if it was correct, we were told it was and that some owners of the condos renovate the condos and they may not match the online postings exactly. We were very displeased with this and this is clearly false advertising. If I wanted a studio, I would have booked and paid for a studio. As a family, we had no privacy because of this and made the sleeping situation undesirable. We could also hear the people above us every night. At around 3am they would be up stomping around and you could hear everything. The rooms are supposed to be updated but I would not consider our room updated. There was no housekeeping. I had to call and request it but our room was only serviced once. Luckily we weren't charged, unlike other reviews I have seen. The larger pool was fine; definitely not resort style. But it could use some maintenance each day because the pool seemed dirty and not cleaned from the various people frequenting it each day. I would have given this place a one star but I gave it two stars due to: 1) the front desk staff we interacted with was very kind and helpful; truly so nice. 2) our kids enjoyed the morning hot cocoa 3) the location to the beach is nice and the beach was enjoyable 4) the walking path and proximity to local spots and hotels was convenient. I did not realize that they would store our luggage outside in the humidity!!! I thought they would store it inside the hotel in a closet in the back. I had temperature-sensitive medication in my luggage and when we came back to check-in, I was shocked to find our luggage stored outside. Had I known that, I would have asked them to store my meds in the fridge for me. Thankfully, my meds were okay in the end, but it did give me panic. PARKING (5/5): Since we booked through Costco, the parking was included with our stay. We had in/out privileges and no valet required. STAFF (5/5): I forgot her name, but she welcomed us very friendly and checked us in. Michelle I think was her name. We asked about local places to eat and she kindly wrote us a list. The housekeeping staff was also very nice and always greeted us in the halls. SHUTTLE/TROLLEY (5/5): There's a free green trolley that will take you to Whaler's Village and came around every 30min or so (check the schedule) and will also drop you off at nearby hotels along the beach, not just the Outrigger. Also, the hotel has it's own private shuttle that will follow the same route within the resort grounds if you don't want to wait for the trolley. Again, they don't exit the resort. One night we went to a nearby hotel (The Bungalos) for a music event but had just missed the trolley and the guys out front said they could drive us in the hotel van. And then gave us a number to call them when we were ready to go back to the hotel, so we called them but wanted to go to dinner at Whaler's Village after and they took us. So so convenient. really nice guy! It's complimentary but we tipped our driver and he was always so kind! We read in the handouts that they did a special going-away ceremony at the end of your stay but unfortunately we had to miss it to catch our early flight, so Michelle was kind enough to give us the necklace and do a mini version for us there at the check-out counter. POOL (1/5): We didn't even try the pool. It's quite small in size, and it was so hot, and no shade anywhere, so we didn't bother. They did provide towels though that you could swap out and stuff, so we used those and just went to the beach. RENTALS: There's a hut on-site where you get the towels, but also offers rental stuff for the water, beach chairs, etc. Note: the beach chairs + umbrella rentals are quite steep, I think was like 2 chairs + 1 umbrella almost $85 and had to return by 5pm. We ended up going to Costco and instead and bought 2 tommy bahama chairs and umbrella and used them the whole week while we were there, and even used our chairs at other places too. We saved some money that way and used that money instead to tip the staff and buy food in Maui b/c it ain't cheap! ACTIVITY SCHEDULE: We were given a print-out at check-in with activities throughout the week, however we showed up to one of them and there was nothing going on but there was a gentleman there. We were told that the print-out was outdated so we had missed the activity since it was earlier in the week. So don't go off the print-out. He had a different schedule available at his table. So..there's that. Overall, I would not mind staying here again but would be interested in staying at the other hotels along the Kanapali beach.
