A solid option for lunch at the Downtown Vancouver Farmers Market. The service is friendly and the portions are large. I got the tofu loco moco. The tofu itself had an amazing spongey texture and it was covered in a tangy, sweet sauce with a bit of a kick that paired nicely with the rice and fried egg. I also tried the pork belly burrito, which was just ok. The pork belly was more on the chewy side. read more

I've run into this business at a couple of farmers markets now! I've only tried their mushroom dish, but it's a great option for vegetarians or vegans. It's rice, deliciously sautéed mushrooms, a bit of lettuce, and the option to top with an egg. Simple but tasty. The team working here is always super nice, even on really hot days. Had them at the PDX Hot Sauce Expo, and their lumpia are so good! They are ginormous and made fresh which I really liked. I'm used to cold, pre-fried filling which isn't bad necessarily but not the sauce as hot lumpia. The filling was quite sumptuous and perfectly flavored. Yes! Finally ate some amazing Filipino food! I ordered their chicken ado and was also given some free lumpias to try. The lumpia tasted better than mine! I will be looking for them wherever they go from now on! Saturday and Sundays you can find them at the Vancouver Farmers Market downtown. Try this place. Full disclosure - I only had the Kalamansi juice. Kalamansi is a small sour fruit with a very distinctive taste. They nailed it. The service was friendly and the area is clean. They were out of the Sisig but if you are looking for the original Pampanga Sisig, this is not it. They have mayo and egg. The chef did try and argue with me that it was original "depending on what area" you are from. I don't think it works that way. The Ilokano Dinakdakan has Mayo. Plus to argue with someone who was born in the Philippines and lived for 4 years as a teen at the birthplace of Sisig, probably not a good idea. read more

Hooray, there's a regular Filipino food cart based out of Vancouver, WA now! As of this writing they don't have a regular website, but you can follow them on Instagram for updates as to where they'll be and what the menu is for that day (they're on facebook as well, but they don't seem to update that as often as Instagram). They are regularly at the Vancouver fathers market, and lately have been at some local brewery/taprooms around Vancouver, WA & Washougal, WA. Their portions are generous, with their Silogs/bowls coming with your choice of protein, a big scoop of rice, a fried egg (with perfectly runny yolk) and a cucumber & tomato salad so you get some veggies, too. We tried the Pork Longganisa (sausage) Silog/bowl, the Short Rib Adobo Silog/bowl, and the Pork Lumpia, which was all delicious. Their lumpia are huge, too; much bigger than the smaller lumpia I'm used to getting when I lived in Southern California. Our food was ready in 10 - 15 minutes and piping hot.
