Bright, clean food shop, chock full of Lebanese and Turkish brands (among other nations too, I'm sure) that are great fun to try by those unfamiliar (like me!). I love their selection of nut mixes, teas, coffees, and soft drinks with terrific flavors. There is a prepared foods section, but we haven't had a chance to try them yet (need to get there closer to mealtimes) so something for us to look forward to. There is also a butcher section with different cuts of meats and offal. The staff is very friendly and willing to help answer questions and advise on brands.

Up front they even have kid sized shopping carts and it has a little flag on it that says "customer in training" or something like that.

I thought it was an odd lol but I love to shop local businesses. So this was right up my alley on being able to support a local business. I was told of several places that were open with shorter hours for today. Dockside Seafood was my first stop and they had everything I needed.... BUT I didn't feel appreciated by them following me around the very small store like I was going to steal something. So I asked the guy (wearing a white meat market over coat) for a spice that I was looking for while standing right in front of it. He didn't have the answer. So that was some BS. Why are you standing 8ft away acting like you're looking for something when you aren't? I don't know if their local community hurts their business by stealing or not. But if that's the case then they should have cameras. They only have two very short aisles (similar to a gas station).

I went in and felt very comfortable because it was safe in there and everyone was wearing a mask. I ordered the linguine and the chourice and while they were packing them I walked around the store. I also found some chopped red pepper that I knew the kids would like. But what I didn't find, and it may have been there, was some Portuguese cheese to bring. It would have been a nice thing that they would have enjoyed. They don't get very good food in Arizona and I always try to bring him something when I go visit. This time I was driving so I was limited in the choices of foods that I could bring some home. The sausage and I thought the cheese as would be good things to stick in a cooler in the car . I was also advised to use the vacuum seal bags I had at home in order to keep the sausages dry and fresh for the trip. I like walking around and looking at the Portuguese groceries and the variety of foods that they have. I usually like to go around the corner to the bakery and get cheese and bread but I forgot the cheese and I knew that the bread would not be any good five days later. Nice little butcher shop with very friendly people.

Personally, I think it's misleading that this place calls itself 'butcher shop'…read more If you are looking for chourico (a type of sausage) or other Portuguese food, then this is your mecca. If you are looking for a beef roast, look elsewhere. I drive by here often, and today, stopped by, looking for a nice pot roast. The front part of the shop is bare, but for a few tables, presumably for customers to eat the hot, prepared foods they sell. Further inside is a glass case, with more chourico than you could shake a stick at. There was small table with a warmer that contained some type of hot food. There are also a few shelves of grocery products that would appeal to their customer base, which was evidently Portuguese, judging from the heavy accents of other patrons (West Warwick has a significant Portuguese population). But, since their sign said "butcher shop," I went there for a beef roast, but realized something was wrong when all I saw was a glass case stuffed with chourico, but no steaks, chops or roasts. I had to wait a while to be helped or even acknowledged, and when the young woman behind the counter got to me, I asked if they had any beef roasts. She had to go to the back to ask someone, then came back and said they do not have beef roasts. Hmmm ... a butcher shop that doesn't sell beef roasts .... Perhaps they should call themselves "JC's Chourico Shop." That would be more accurate.

Eggs, dairy, meats are all less here. Quity canned goods and produce. They offer weekly sales on a variety of home goods and sell seasonal items. We definitely save money shopping at Aldi's. But any-who, this location is always very nicely stocked and I seem to find an employee on the floor whenever I need one whenever I have a question, which excites me. My sister is the one who put me on to Aldi, the prices are amazing and am able to stretch the money I have and get quality items, which makes me happy in this economy right now. They do charge for bags but I bring my own, so that's never an issue. I just hate having to bag my stuff since I do a full shop here but that's okay. The food items are of good quality, and they taste great. Honestly every since I started coming here I don't go to the other markets. This location does get packed really easily, but they open lines very quickly. As soon as they see lines starting to grow, they open registers and the employee scan very rapidly, it seems like a race and I am shocked at how quickly they scan and get you In and out. The atmosphere here is not bad, can get a hit chaotic but for the most part everyone is nice and courteous. Give this Aldi's a go it's a nice size as well and the produce always seems fresh!
