Friendly people, Great Chourico. I stop in at least once or twice a week for a pulled pork sandwich.

The rotisserie chicken that they have on Saturdays is delicious, even my picky eating five year old was all about it. I also love their marinade that they have at their meat counter, it's like a piri piri/chorizo sauce. You can buy meat already marinating in it or a container of it for undere $2. You just have to ask at the meat counter. I also like to stock up on my Azores butter here. The cheese counter is a lovely sight. My aunt loves the St Jorge cheese. They cut it right off of the wheel for you. I'm obsessed with the fresh cheese that they carry from Manny's Dairy Farm. The large container generally does not last the weekend once my husband and I dig into it. Like fresh mozzarella, but better. The piece de resistance for me is their Portuguese corn bread-- broa. If you've never had it, it's a corn and rye bread (not at all like Southern cornbread). When you are headed to the checkout here they have it towards the front. I don't know if it's like this everyday, but on Saturday mornings it is literally still hot when you grab one. Super fresh and super delicious. It's the perfect compliment to that fresh cheese! Overall a solid supermarket with great items.

This is convenient for people of Bristol to have an option besides Stop & Shop and without having to travel to Fall River/Swansea/Target to a big box or other grocery store. Their parking lot is easy to access with lots of space. This store is very clean and feels high end - I would consider this more of a luxury market, almost as if you had a combo of Whole Foods and Highland Park Market (a small local chain in Connecticut). There were a nice amount of unique local offerings I hadn't even heard of before - salt water taffy, chocolates, bulk frozen soups from Blount, etc. There are fresh options like a sushi bar and a small coffee area in the front. The big selling point of this store are those unique offerings, and the best bang for your buck are things they make fresh, breads, desserts, etc. I LOVE their fresh popped flavored popcorn and always have to grab some - just do it!!! Other than those standout features, I can't see myself shopping here regularly if not for those specific items, unless I really didn't want to travel far. It's a smaller store with less selection. Pricing is well above other similar stores - the mark up on a pantry item I picked up was double the price of the exact same thing at Target. Even their "sale" prices don't seem that good of a deal in most cases. They advertise a senior discount on Wednesdays. Self check out and cashiers are set up, but only self check out was open at 8 pm. There's a nice upscale feel here, although staff wasn't helpful in the evening hours when I went, which you would expect more of from this type of experience based store. For basics and pantry staples, you'll find a better deal elsewhere....but honestly, it's still worth a trip just for the popcorn.

When I got home and took them out of the packaging they had brown spots and two had brown spots inside as well. If these lemons had been significantly better than regular lemons perhaps the price difference would be justified, but for them to be mildly worse and more than twice the price struck me as bizarre! I also bought a frozen meal that was already expired... I was able to return these two items and the customer service was good, but I couldn't believe how high my bill was for only getting 5-6 things.

Recently there were multiple cans of condensed milk with an August 2025 expiration date that I found while shopping in November 2025. I also bought flowers one day and was charged a donation fee for absolutely no reason for a charity that the store was helping out through a special promotion (this was explained to me by a clerk when I complained about the extra charge). There was no signage advertising this at all. Can you imagine being conned into supporting their charity? Luckily, I always choose self-checkout and try to match prices with the amount being rung up. Just tonight I was charged $3.50 or 2 for $7.00, for plants that had a sign stating $2.50 or 2 for $5.00. I also had a small tub of prepared fruit with a sticker that said $3.12 but was charged $3.84. I went over my receipt when I got home and found the overcharge. I also hate their stupid robot. It's intrusive as well as annoying. Clements on Hope Street has better customer service and some items are even cheaper than Stop and Shop. I wish there was a Shaw's grocery store closer than Barrington or Middletown.
