Okay, so my daughter found this place and so we went without looking up the previous reviews. Mistake. The inside looks like you'd expect from a buffet. Sorta run down but okay. The food. Oh man. The sushi was okay. It was cold which I appreciated. Basic but def the best bet in this place. Also, the crab legs. My husband and daughter went ham on the crab legs - said they were great. The buffet itself was steaming - so much steam - but there was a surprising lack of warmth associated with the steam trays. The food was luke warm at best...but mostly cold. The fried food items were...soft. Chewy even. No seasoning. I put the salmon and white fish on my plate but once I got a better look at it I decided not to risk it. The service was good. This place uses the same name as a known seafood boil restaurant and it feels intentional. We walked in ready for a seafood boil only to be met with a mediocre looking buffet. The host was nice but immediately recognized that this isn't what we were expecting and stated that happens often. read more

I came here for Valentine's Day since I always like to try new places and buffets. It was BUSY. The staff was quick and friendly, always cleaning, always filling up the buffet. I do think they had a decent selection and the price of $20 per person is a great deal. Umi Buffet by me is smaller and WAY more expensive. My biggest pet peeve is when things aren't labeled at a buffet. I would say maybe 50-60% were labeled. I definitely saw a lot Chinese food, but not a lot of seafood surprisingly, and the dessert bar was kind of sad. I was spitting food out into my napkin. This may have been the worse meal I've had in months. I tried a bite of about 12 different things. 2 were edible. The staff was pleasant and the place clean, but it's not worth the $15.99 lunch price. Also, there's no crab for at least the lunch. Everything was just made... wrong. Flaming Grill Buffet is now Crab Du Jour. For their "grand opening" my order was 15% off so for about $45 my wife and I what was deemed a family feast. We were both very full after it, but you'd have to have a small family for it to be enough for the entire family (you only get 2 pieces of corn, so if you order this for more than 2 people someone's going to be cornless). We had the 1lb crawfish, 1lb shrimp (I paid an extra $3 for them to be headless), and 2 lobster tails. Obviously it's frozen seafood but it was pretty good for inexpensive frozen seafood. We chose the cajun and medium spicy level. I could have got hotter, but it was a good level for my wife. read more

I went here thinking it was part of the Crab Du Jour chain. I was wrong. It's merely a Chinese, Japanese, American and Mexican buffet restaurant. The food wasn't average. The fried flounder did not have a crisp coating. It was chewy. I couldn't figure out what the sushi selections were. The bait-and-switch with the name loses a star. So, since it's Friday and PT time at Rothman, we figured what the hell! Let's make it a date night. There's this shopping center in Hamilton, NJ that the entire center has new stores and restaurants. 1079 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd in Hamilton , NJ. We see this new restaurant called "Crab Du Jour". The find of the year for sure. Now my favorite are stone crabs. Usually can only get them in the Keys. They were running about $79 a pound in Florida. Cold shrimp, hundreds of different foods. Delicious sushi, 50 different desserts. We had no idea of what the cost was. Over 2 hours later the bill comes. $20 a person. Are they serious??? I must have eaten $200 worth of stone crabs alone ( Florida prices). This is an all you can eat place. Buffet with NO up charges. Gave the server even though she just cleaned up our table 10 times a $15 tip. She actually came over to ask me if I made a mistake. She couldn't stop thanking us. This is the first meal I've had since I lost most of my taste buds post covid after Thanksgiving that I actually tasted everything I ate. Just a joyous occasion! read more

Very disappointed as it was Flaming grill which I've eaten at in Brick, NJ. I was looking forward to the Crab Du Jour restaurant and hoping it was good. The food was hardly warm and so unappetizing. The Brick Buffet is ok food wise but its appearance leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant needs a complete renovation. It's dirty looking. I haven't been to a good buffet in quite some time. I even went to China Grill Buffet and while the place was very clean and pleasing to the eye, the choices were limited compared to the other buffets I've been to. I'd give the China Grill Buffet a 3 1/2 star rating. Oh!! and the prices they charge are outrageous. read more

But let me tell yall about this service because whatttt they charged a family of 8 people almost 200$ mind you it was 3 kids and 5 adults and they making us pay 23$ tips saying it's policy when that policy is no where in the front desk and they calling cops and shit like it makes no sense to me seriously. If I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS... I would. I usually am not the person to leave reviews ever but after this horrific experience, I just had to. My boyfriend & I went for a second time after a not so terrible experience as we were craving some cheap, hibachi/sushi. First, we got hibachi & sushi which, wasn't terrible, but had a slight aftertaste & the grill was disgusting... he cleaned off a spot for our food midway cooking instead of cleaning it prior (he must've noticed how nasty/dirty it was). We had about 8 plates total of all of the food so we tried just about everything. Neither of us cleared our plates (about 2-5 bites from each plate) which is very unlike the both of us. The coconut chicken was as chewy as if you were chewing a wad of gum... my boyfriend described this piece "half rock half gum". The general's chicken tasted like cooked, spoiled meat. The fried chicken was YELLOW on the inside & was just bland. I was just disgusted by the fact that it was yellow on the inside like wtf? All of the food was bland & needed either soy sauce or salt/seasonings. Needless to say, we left extremely unsatisfied & still hungry (after paying $50). We definitely will never be back here again. My boyfriend claims that it was delicious when it was under Flaming Grill but possibly with the new management/owners, the quality & taste of the food has seriously declined. read more

I went to try the place out myself with a couple of friends and the food was not seasoned and very bland. The service was terrible, they were charging us $28 each plus MAKING US pay tip. Terrible service. Food wasn't great and when we got the check, they upped the price to where it's $25 per person. Our bill came out to $130 and we weren't going to give a tip because our server didn't do anything except give us water. Even when she was taking our plates, she spilled them. When the check came, we put 0 as a tip and she stood there and said we HAD to give a tip. I asked where does it say that and she couldn't answer that. As if $130 wasn't enough for terrible service and terrible quality of the food, she wouldn't leave and gave the pen back to my mom; which was very rude. So we wrote down $5 to shut her up and so we could go and she STILL STOOD THERE SAYING WE NEEDED TO PUT MORE. So we're mad and asking why does she think she deserve a tip. She did nothing except give us our waters, no refill might I add, and spilled food when she was taking them away. I understand tipping is appreciated and trust me, I tip service people but that's if they're ACTUALLY serving my food and talking to us and being nice. Went during lunch. The food is not good, it was very difficult to chew and eat. The taste was poor. I literally had 2 plates and didn't finish either of them before deciding to leave. I got my bill and the server brought me a receipt with the dinner price attached. I was so sick to my stomach I just paid and left. Will never go back. The sushi was awful. read more

Customer service was nice but every single option for food was almost inedible. I first went to get the hibachi but the chef wasn't even there to cook so I settled with the chicken and beef from under the warmer. Both were extremely oily and composed of 10 percent meat and 90 percent breading and sauce. When I finally went back to get the hibachi the steak was legitimately cheesesteak meat with virtually no flavoring besides the teaspoon of sauce the chef put on. Even that steak was rubbery so in my reliance on normalcy and something that had some semblance of being a safe choice I got the pizza. The pizza was honestly worse than anything even a Michele Obama run elementary school cafeteria could muster. In my final plea for something decent, I chose to get the jello where there was a strange plasticy film on each piece, evident that the jello was out in the open for god knows how long. After trying them for the first time ( south jersey) I thought they made the best fast food fried chicken ever. To my surprise the Hamilton location did not hold up to my expectations. I'm not sure if this is due to COVID, but this is Crab Du Jour EXPRESS meaning takeout only. If you want a dine-in experience, will need to visit their other NJ locations. There is very little signage for this location within a strip mall. Once I called, they notified me they are located in the Flaming Grill Buffet location. There is no "Crab Du Jour" signage until you walk up to the door and see a handwritten note. Customers wait in a small lobby area to pick up their order. We placed our order online which was pretty easy to understand. We decided on individual "make your own combo" - choose sauce, heat level and seafood (more seafood choices the higher price). All combos come with red potatoes and corn on the cob in a steam bag. Snow crabs are thinner so more clusters per pound. But our favorite are the dungeoness crabs. The garlic butter sauce is heavy so if you enjoy Lots of butter sauce then this is your choice. If not, the Old Bay seasoning is dry and not "saucy". Overall, the quality is good and we will be back. read more

I was talked into trying out this restaurant against my better judgement. I pulled up and the signage of the previous restaurant was still on the building and I was nervous but I already ordered and paid for our meals. My food was ready on time, service was friendly, and was packed neatly so maybe my first impression was wrong. I wish.. the snow crabs and clam bags had very little seasoning and were not tasty. The clams were dry and ending up being tossed. Thankfully the corn and potatoes were edible. The crab cake baskets also didn't have seasoning and but were edible. We ended up throwing away 70% of our meal and wasting $75. Hopefully no one else makes the same mistake as we did. read more
