    Two Lunch Specials
    Brad M.

In the old Palace of Asia location is Zara's Restaurant. Other than adding some Pakistan flags it looks the same as it looked when it was an Indian restaurant. The buffet was $25 and didn't seem to have a lot of options to we opted for the $15 lunch special. It was a pretty good deal because it included an appetizer, entrée, and bread. I enjoyed the spice level of my food and my Pakistani lunch companion said the food was authentic.

Food wise this was close to if not 4 stars, but service and value need to be improved for me to be a fan. At this point I'd probably only return to try the soon to be launched dinner buffet. My first visit was for takeout on a Saturday afternoon. I was the only patron in this cavernous space. I ordered chicken samosas, chicken Hibari and aloo paratha. I was coerced into ordering the bread because I was informed the main dish did not come with rice. The samosas were good, nicely seasoned ground chicken in medium sized pouches. Sauces were the usual tamarind, watery yogurt and a mint one. The entree of chicken hibari was good, boneless mixed chicken in a yellow peppery sauce that may have used puréed lentils. The bread was good too, but seemed to be misnamed, it was more like Roti with potatoes in the middle. I thought the entree portion sized was smaller than my nearest fav Indian place, just a pint sized container. But I liked the flavors and wanted to sample more. A few days later a foodie friend joined me for lunch. Again, no other customers or takeouts it seemed, this was around 2:30 on a weekday. We both ordered from the lunch specials menu which costs $15. She chose chicken Korma, and I had the beef version of the Hibari. She didn't love the veggie Samosa, and I outright disliked the pakora, probably the worst I've experienced. But as a plus, both of our dishes came with rice. She liked the Korma, although it was a much darker and spicier version than I was expecting. I also liked my beef, the sauce was richer than the chicken version too. But sadly, both of these were very small portions containing very little proteins. Hers was just a small drumstick, while I got 2 small cubes of beef. I had a feeling I'd be wanting more food, so we also shared garlic naan, which was good. And an order of chicken biryani, also good. The rice dish suffered the same fate as our entrees, very little chicken. What was in it was bone in, and mostly bone. We ended our meal with a shared Kheer. This was special, very thick and with crushed almond and golden raisins, best item we had here. While eating, I was considering my review and although I liked most of it, the lack of protein in all of our dishes seemed off putting. The service we experienced was friendly but very slow, with no attention to detail. You would think that such a huge place, with no other discernible customers, would try to wow us. Or at least check in from time to time? I had to go search for someone when we wanted the check. I look forward to hearing how the dinner buffet is, based on that I might revisit, 3.5 coulda been better stars

This was one of the best Desi restaurants I've ever been to. Amazing Pakistani cuisine. I haven't head Lahori Chole this authentic in the Princeton area at all. I've been disappointed with the Indian restaurants in the Princeton area because they don't capture Pakistani taste. There is nowhere else closer than South Brunswick that you can get authentic Pakistani dishes like Beef Haleem, Beef Nihari, etc. The Kulcha Naan and Lahori Chole were excellent. The service was top notch and the restaurant is gorgeous, with soaring decorative tray ceilings and chandeliers. It must be at least 5000 square feet.

Nick our server was on point with us. He was outstanding! The drinks were very good and appetizer delicious. We visited during happy hours, but the drinks were being served very quickly, not a long wait at all. The atmosphere was very warm and pleasant and surprisingly not noisy at all. The food was alot. Every item tasted so good. Even the steamed broccoli was delicious. We love the sauce that is accompanied with the steak, very flavorful. KC Prime, although it has been a long time visiting you there is nothing we can complain about at all. Thank you Nick for treating us so special and hope to visit more in the future. Thank you.

The brunch was overall always good, but it wasn't anything special. The ambiance was one of the best things of this place as it had a nice and cozy interior hence why it's a steakhouse. And service overall each time we went was good as they did good cleaning our table in a timely manner and making sure that the plates didn't pile up. When it comes to criticisms it is mostly with the food. Each time we went it was always the same food and nothing was ever different. I know its breakfast and of course you'd expect to have most of the same stuff that breakfast tends to have. Including basic things like eggs, bacon, sausage, omelette station, toast etc. However, we had high hopes that maybe they would change stuff now and then, but it seems that never happens here. Due to that there are the same food options and then there are the items we didn't like that were always there and were never improved or changed. Overall, this is good for brunch but there are still better options out there.

You don't pay for a wonderful "experience" --- that was never part of the package. UMI Premium Sushi & Seafood Buffet changes that, and offers the Chinese Buffet in a setting that is bright, open, and beautifully decorated. There is no real "server" when you come here, all of the servers work as a collective --- you call one down, they bring you your drink, another passes by they collect your plate. These workers definitely work in harmony. Now I have to say: this Buffet is a bit pricier than the normal "Flaming Grill & Buffet" --- adults are $23.99 and kids are between $11-16. But remember: you getting not just the food --- your getting what most other buffets don't offer: AN EXPERIENCE. Besides the "hot dishes" like hibachi beef and orange chicken, UMI Premium Sushi & Seafood Buffet offers a wide variety not seen anywhere else: Hot Pot anyone? Included! Ramen? Included! Unlimited Bubble Tea? Included! Beverages? Included! Taste-wise I was thoroughly impressed. Since this is a popular buffet, it seems the food is refreshed quite often, meaning nothing will remain in the warmers for too long. Some of my favorites? Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Braised Pork Belly, and the Cantaloupe Boba Tea. True to it's name, this Buffet exceeded my expectations, was an absolute EXPERIENCE and I can't wait for another visit!

It was a Saturday night and we were hungry so we gave it a try. Entering the restaurant, we were surprised how well lit and filled with customers dining. We were greeted by friendly staff who took us to our table in no time. They have hibachi, variety of sushi (cooked and raw), crab legs, softshell crabs (my fav), salt pepper shrimps, and your typically Chinese restaurant food selections. Their softshell crabs were really delicious. The seasoning used in the stir fry is so good. The employees provide each table a large bowl for the crab shells and every few minutes, they come by to take away the plates and provide us with new bowl for the crab legs. They were very attentive. Overall, I'd say this is better than the average Chinese buffet. Would I come back here again? Sure, when Im in the area. Would I intentionally drive out here for the food? Probably not when there's so many buffets around.

The rainbow roll has no tuna, and one of the rolls I ordered without sauce was made with spicy sauce. I didn't care for it, and at least one order of shumai was never delivered. I tried the garlic sesame string beans which were fantastic, the pad thai wuth shrimp had 2 little shrimp and too much noodles, the sauce was a little off. My issue was being told we could take home leftovers for no charge to avoid a wasted food fee. Then the manager said extra $5 for to go boxes, so they can just throw food away. I personally don't care for sushi rolls that have too much rice, something spicy and not a lot of fish. Besides the Valentines roll that was not as described at all. I prefer Takumi in Sayreville.
