I've been working with Kama'aina Electric for the past two years on all my electrical needs. Ian has been great with troubleshooting all my electrical issues. He is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable at his craft. What really stood out for me was that Ian always explained what is causing the specific electrical issue. When there wasn't an easy solution available, he presented several different options on how to best resolve the issue. I feel very comfortable recommending Kama'aina Electric to all my friends and family because I know Ian always does what's best for his clients. 09/27/2018 Update I called back Ian for some other electric issues that needed to be fixed. This time around I needed two bathroom vanity light fixtures to be swapped out, replace my outside corner motion light, fix two pathway lights that didn't work, and swap out the receiver in my ceiling fan. The first three tasks were fixed very efficiently. There was a slight issue with the ceiling fan because Ian determined that the entire motor was no good. I called up Pacific Ceiling Fan and fortunately they said they could replace my fan with a new one free of charge. Ian offered to drive to Pacific Ceiling Fan to drop off the old fan, pick up the new fan, and come back to install it. He came back about an hour later and installed the new ceiling fan in 20 minutes. This is the perfect example of customer service at its best. Ian went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves STRONG consideration for any of your electric needs. His fee was reasonable too! I completely trust Ian, and will continue to recommend Kama'aina Electric to anyone that needs electrical help! read more

Spoke to Ian about an electrical issue. Thankfully was available the next day. He reviewed the dead socket in garage and at first it was a mystery as to why this plug was hamajang. I was glad he didn't give up looking for an answer. Turns out this socket was wired to a separate room and once this breaker was turned back on we were good. Back in July 2020, we used Kama'aina Electric to replace three hard wired smoke detectors, install a new LED light fixture, replacing our little grey box for our electric water heater, and replacing our bedroom ceiling fan. Ian was very courteous and professional and came by at the scheduled appointment time. He completed all of these tasks in one day and his charge was very reasonable. We needed Ian's services again in April 2022 when we discovered we had an intermittent electrical problem in our kitchen. It affected our garbage disposal, our kitchen over the sink light, and several electrical outlets all on the same circuit breaker. Ian came out several times to try to troubleshoot the problem but it was difficult because sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. After checking out our circuit breaker box, and the wiring to the affected devices, Ian discovered that we had a slow leak from our refrigerator water line which was causing a short to the junction box which housed these wires. He told us to call the plumber and have him fix the water line which we did. Ian then came back in a few days later and installed a new junction box and new electrical outlet for the garbage disposal. He checked everything out and everything is back to normal operation! Despite coming out several times to our house to try to identify the intermittent problem, Ian only charged us for his last visit and it was a very reasonable charge. We would highly recommend Ian for his easy going personality, his honesty and his persistency in solving our electrical problem. read more

Ian responded quickly and was able to schedule my job for the very next morning. They showed up right at the scheduled time. Project was the installation of a light fixture and was expected to be a simple job. However, it turned out to be complex because of the existing wiring.
